THANK YOU! Because of your video, I realised that the ribbon cable had been pulled out of the motor housing entirely and that's why the printer was giving me "document loaded" when no document was there!! Fantastic!!

Great Videos! I got a HP MFP M283 fdw for free but the display or cable to the seems to be broken since it doesn‘t show anything. The previous owner bumped it to a wall. So I wondered, how to get to where the display cable is plugged inside the machine is the same way as in this video by taking off the side wall? Or does the cable that runs from the display go somewhere else inside the machine?

Hi. How did you decide that the ribbon cable of the motor is damaged? I have the same problem. When start scan or copy, the motor makes a sound of tic tic tic and tries to move the gears. Then halts and the error message appears. Can you suggest any reason?
Ok i found it. The problem is the ribbon cable that connects with the adf motor. It was ripped and 4 pins doesn't have continuity. U can measure the ribbon cable with a multimeter. Take it off at the adf motor and from the board and test the continuity at every pin. Regards
