Surprised Jose didn't mention during the church parking lot shoot out, John empties his rifle and immediately switched to his sidearm to continuing fighting before reloading. That's textbook combat
Another scene that impressed me: during the club scene, at one time he runs dry on his primary. In the next shot, he enters the room with his backup gun (Glock 26). After assesing the room and noting the lack of immediate threats, he reholsters his backup gun then pulls out his primary gun and reloads, opting to manually rack the slide. Stuff like this makes me nod my head in approval.
@@shoua7 I just rewatched the entire club scene and the only 2 times he used his backup was when he was forced to at the beginning and at the end when he was thrown off the second floor. At that point, he had ran out of ammo for his primary gun
@@JustSumGuy01 Watch it again. The scene I'm talking about is right after he shoots the guy that he wrestles on the ground in the head. He then stops in the doorway to the next room, and you can see he has the 26 out, before reholstering then changing the mag on his primary.

@@ImranAli-qj4ir just imagine it XD 40 years from now when talk comes of shooting they say John wick movies just like now how when we talk about martial arts movies Bruce lee's name comes first
One thing about the John Wick movies is that you see that the action is genuine and not a whole bunch a camera shots flipping around to make it look like a helluva action scene. Keanu definitely puts the work and doesn't disrespect the true craft of tactical training! Having said that, one of my favorite scenes is in John Wick 3 when John and Halle and those dogs went ape shit in that huge fight scene! Oh man I had the surround sound up loud and I was damn near jumping up and down on the couch going bananas 🤣. Anybody interview those dogs yet? Freak'n brilliant 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿👍🏿
ARGHH okay I have to go one level down for this. Here is the interview question: Q: What stunts are you most proud of? A: I don’t do stunts, but I try to do as much action as I can. Here you go smartass
This vid already exists actually. Jeorg Sprave, a German youtuber who makes all this crazy stuff from workshop materials like wood and elastics, did a video simulating the things john wick did with the medical info aid from his wife (who's a doctor) and its already fairly accurate XD
Actually yes. Anyone who trains seriously in firearm tactics will notice n pick up on the small details. And will truly appreciate it. Practical movements and techniques are beautiful to watch as opposed to the mainstream big flashy impractical movements.
I'm just a recreational handgun shooter, but I too very much appreciate all the small details in the shooting scenes in these movies. It also helps that I really like Keanu Reeves. He just seems like a good guy. And very committed to his craft as well.
Oh most definitely. My enjoyment of action films skyrockets when the firearms usage and tactics are on point. Stuff like John Wick, Sicario, and Heat is incredible.
@@BaronVonNapalm As soon as I saw the trailer for the "sequel" I knew it was going to be garbage. It wasn't written to have a sequel. It was supposed to be a display of the situation at the US/Mexican border and a commentary on the blurring of the lines of morality. A one off, incredible film. And then they tried to cash in on it's success.
He trained so much for John Wick and it makes it so awesome to watch (especially if you have experience in weapon handling). He does it perfectly, checks guns for jams, reloads tactically and forced when empty etc
Ha, mostly true, but I still take exception to the way actors (and some LE and military) are trained to do a magazine change. By a show of hands how many viewing this video have NEVER had a magazine stick in the mag well when you pressed the mag release?....................Hmmmm not one hand up. Imagine hitting the mag release as your support hand is bringing the fresh mag up and the empty mag doesn't drop free. You now have a classic "hardware store" of equipment you must try to sort out and do it quickly. What will you have to do to clear the malfunction? Take the full mag and put it back in your mag carrier? Take the full mag and put it in your belt or pocket? Try to free the "stuck" empty mag with the full mag still in your support hand? All of the above make for a chaotic time and keep you from getting back into the fight. (READ: Surviving) Now here’s what you SHOULD DO: Your support hand is on the gun when you fire the last round. Quickly rotate the gun and look into the chamber. No brass visible? Strip the empty mag from the weapon with your support hand and throw it to the ground or put it into your mag bag. (military) If you see brass clear the malfunction. THEN take your support hand and grab a full mag from your mag carrier. Too many times we train with nice clean weapons and nice clean magazines (in the gun and out.) It's not always the case in real-life. I train the military. They crawl around in the dirt and sand and their weapons and mags get pretty dirty. It takes no longer to strip the empty mag than to execute what we (derisively) call a "Hollywood High Reload." It really could save your life in a gun battle.
What does John Wick have to do with police training even military training is different shake my fucking head. I compare this BS to when they had the Arabs play the fire nation on the Last Airbender Avatar. Try having your weapon up for 3hrs training how to instinctly reload just by feeling and weight.
a lot of people have said - don't kill his dog - don't touch his car NOW.. I AGREE but.. if i broke into his house (putting aside the fact that i'd instantly be dead) :P if i was walking through his lounge room and on his coffee table he had a bowl of jelly beans I WOULDN'T EVEN TAKE 1 JELLY BEAN Just to be on the safe side LOL
I've noticed this in all of the John Wick movies, that the tactics and movements are spot on. I have extensive tactical training having spent 12 years in the military every movement and every use of his body is totally realistic and what is used in the military and law enforcement. I always have a hard time when I'm watching movies like this with how unrealistic the weapons training is and then you come to John Wick and realize how much work he put into these movies in getting the tactics right and weapons training as well. I really respect him for that
Oh! Come on. It's no where near to reality. I am the para commando in the indian army. That totally seems fictional though the actor tried his level best to make it realistic. Appreciate.
@ezio auditoree legit tho? Cuz your profile seems fishy. And also yeah the movements in John wick is realistic I don't know how you trained in India but in North America this is what is usually trained.
I’m not trying to a dick, but anyone who has access to TH-cam or social media knows this by now. His Taran Tactical video started a huge movement for celebrities to get into 3-gun.
@@vinnyvidivici Well, everyone who is a fan of Keanu Reeves and follows him, which of course would be most people watching this vid. But, Taran Tactical isn't exactly SpaceX, so I don't care about being Captain Obvious to the mainstream people.
Well what do you expect? It's not tactically sound it's not efficient in the slightest. And it makes the user look like an idiot. Of course, they're gang bangers so what can ya do?
Fun fact regarding tactical and shooting in the Wick movies: John Wick 1. Former Navy SEAL and professional shooter Fred Ruiz trained Keanu Reeves in shooting and tactics. Fred was a SEAL for 9 yrs and an Naval Special Warfare Sniper. John Wick 2. Former Duvdevan ( Israeli counter terrorist unit IDF ) and Mossad Aaron Cohen did train Reeves in shooting and tactics. John Wick 3. Former Navy SEAL and CIA contractor Shawn Ryan is one that trained Keanu Reeves in tactics, Taran Butler a professional shooter of 15 yrs trained him in shooting.
The films really bring out what was missing from films like James bond or the mission impossible series'. It really helps hide the 4th wall in the story and makes the unrealistic one man army approach sort of believable
Anvengers come to kill Thanos see him dead with a gauntlet on and pencil in his face. John Wick is back home already getting ready to go at coolest guys ever meeting feat Chuck Norris.

You forgot one little tidbit of info. He's like a gypsy. All his shit has been in storage for years and he just rents places to live where ever he's in location or just feels like hanging out at the time. He has no home.
He did everything correctly as he was trained by one of the best and oh yeah, he did the work. This kind of training and intensity takes a LOT of dedication and work on the shooter's part. This wasn't a Hollywood consult on how to shoot guns. he went to the best and now is one of the best.
I think everyone needs to acknowledge just how badass Keanu Reeves is. He’s genuinely learned martial arts and exceptional tactical firearm discipline. Sure these fights and shoots may be coordinated, but the training is 100% present in his talent.
On one side one of the most badass actors ever... on the other one of the most humble, caring, respectful and spiritual souls in the world. Keanu is a very special human being.
Imagine this: video ends, camera pans right, John Wick standing, pointing gun at this dude's head, fade to black, gunshot. Post-credits: those cleaning dudes show up, start cleaning, see the camera, break the 4th wall and turn off the camera.
The people that argue, "that wasn't realistic", most likely: A: Are training in self-defense / subject control, etc, all the time and not using their training in day to day situation B: Forgot about pressure under stress C: Are not the kind of people that have ever experienced complacency in themselves You can practice any scenario day by day, and perfect it. Reality is, that when under stress, you may revert back to stage one. This is especially true if you are not up to date on training. Whenever I see mistakes in movies it makes it more realistic for me. These are higher-end "assassins", not police. They may have forgotten what they learned 8-10 years ago, and got comfortable with their street cred. John Wick was trained as a kid. They explain that in the 3rd movie. Maybe the other guys weren't? Idk it just adds more realism to me, because people aren't perfect, and adrenaline, on top of bullets flying at you can change the way you react.
I'm a martial artist. Been one for almost 10 years. One thing I loved about these movies is they made it a point to show that he's gotten a little rusty as he's been out of the game for serval years. Those skills go away fairly quickly. You remember more than you realize but there's gonna be rust and you see that and it's great.
In a different youtube video a guy kept track of rounds fired by Wick in #1. and they matched up perfectly with what he used Vs Combat reloads. So Wick never had magic magazines.
@daAnder71 a lot of the war movies out now they get like maybe 6 weeks or less of training and Keanu Reeves went through an insane amount of training if I'm not mistaking. Like way more than a lot of these other actors
@RIP VON no, you're hilariously wrong. In the US, "Special Forces" is specifically US Army Special Forces, which is the official name for "Green Berets." "Operators" are all under the umbrella of special operations. MarSOC is literally Marine Special Operations Command.
The advisors on those movies were epic and the fact that the director allowed for realism vs typical Hollywood lends so much credit. Hollywood needs to figure that out! Crazy big action is always great, but all those little details like punching out, press checks, clearing malfunctions really add so much to the viewers experience!
Keanu has had more firearms training than 95% of all police officers out there. Ammo is expensive for police departments, but not for Hollywood. Keanu shoots more bullets in one day than most cadets shoot for the entire length of police academy. Only special operators, SWAT teams, Federal Air Marshals, and specialized units of local, state, and federal government can get to shoot 10,000 bullets in one day.
@Archangel Ben is talking about training. In training for the movies Keanu is using real guns and actual bullets. He is saying nothing about the movie.
Be in an Army Infantry unit and have to run the range for the division. 100's of thousands of rounds go out for the week. On the last day we would have to fire all remaining rounds.......... bring back none. You will get sick of loading magazines and shooting.
10k in a day?! I couldnt even pop off 2k without my thumbs falling apart from packing mags lol. Even then my brain goes in to dummy mode and nothing is learned after like 1k
I am fangurling so hard right now. It's so satisfying to know that everyone in JOhn Wick (from staff to the actors) are making it realistic that's why it's so satisfying to watch!
myemoheart000 this movie is still far from realistic I’d say. He should have died a million times if this were real life. But I think the attention to detail here is impressive and we don’t expect an action movie to have documentary levels of realism anyway lol 🤷♂️
There's plenty of gun battles that have the star reload. This guy was pointing out that he wasn't out of bullets yet but chose to reload with a full clip anyways. 13 bullets is better than 5.
@daAnder71 What was meant is that people don't mind the small breaks in flow forced by things like reloading, which I think is the main concern that leads to Unlimited Magazine Syndrome. Movies are still movies though, flow and pacing are important and fights are going to be choreographed. Theaters aren't for showcasing footage from "real" crimes, that would in fact be _too_ distressing to watch (try binging this kind of material on TH-cam, it's NOT fun).
@daAnder71 In real life, you often freeze when being shot at, or you are witnessing shooting. It takes a lot of training and focus to shoot and fight in firearms situations, which I'm guessing those criminals didn't have. It's actually very realistic, and people don't realize that in real situations, adrenaline interferes a lot more than youd anticipate.
You wouldn't either way. Dude is a sweetheart, if you go towards him aggressively most likely you will exchange handshake and then you will take a selfie with him.

There are a few clips floating around, He does three gun competitions and when they started prop work for the film the prop master mad a point of using props that mirrored Keanu's personal weapons. The primary training he did for the movie was learning to use the center axis relock system which is a shooting style recently developed specifically for close quarters gun fights.
His training was done by Taran Tactical. He didn’t shoot three gun matches per say, but part of his trading by Taran Tactical were CQB which is basically what 3 gun is.

@@genyauu3634 actually keanu reaves is pretty much a proffessional gunman before he did the movie, he had intensive firearm training, including live rounds training. you should look shit up and do research before you make baseless assumptions.
John Wick was good. The rest were too moronic for words. He goes to retrieve his Mustang at a warehouse full of guns, drugs, money and contraband and not one bad guy has a gun, just so John can get into a martial arts battle with 6 guys. He gets hit by a car and thrown into a concrete wall 10 feet away and jumps up ready to fight. To say it's stupid is being kind. He went the way of too many "action films" like Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, James Bond and Steven Segal. The action sequences went from great to preposterous.
Apart from regular fighting sequences, Reeves also trained himself in Jiu Jitsu, Krav Maga, Wushi and Boxing. It is believed that he later also added Judo and Karate to his training sequence. This further improved his martial arts skills.
I love John Wick movies but after watching this I love it even more. Thanks for sharing this info. Now I'm looking differently at Keanu Reeves. That dude is bad ass!

Big question mark if he'd actually be able to put enough force into his cqc but gunfight would be on point.
I think he would pin you down, then invite you to a coffee and helps you getting on the right track again.
Even though he has all this firearms experience, I don’t think he owns any actual guns. That said he could whoop your ass in a regular fistfight.

J. Jonah Jameson The first Sicario was good. The second one was a joke.
(READ: Surviving)
Now here’s what you SHOULD DO:
Your support hand is on the gun when you fire the last round.
Quickly rotate the gun and look into the chamber.
No brass visible? Strip the empty mag from the weapon with your support hand and throw it to the ground or put it into your mag bag. (military)
If you see brass clear the malfunction.
THEN take your support hand and grab a full mag from your mag carrier.
Too many times we train with nice clean weapons and nice clean magazines (in the gun and out.)
It's not always the case in real-life. I train the military. They crawl around in the dirt and sand and their weapons and mags get pretty dirty.
It takes no longer to strip the empty mag than to execute what we (derisively) call a "Hollywood High Reload."
It really could save your life in a gun battle.
Dude's running out of breath talking about how accurate John is.
What does John Wick have to do with police training even military training is different shake my fucking head. I've noticed this in all of the John Wick movies, that the tactics and movements are spot on. trained Keanu Reeves in shooting and tactics.
Fred was a SEAL for 9 yrs and an Naval Special Warfare Sniper.
John Wick 2. Former Duvdevan ( Israeli counter terrorist unit IDF ) and Mossad Aaron Cohen

Taran Butler a professional shooter of 15 yrs trained him in shooting.

The people that argue, "that wasn't realistic", most likely:
A: Are training in self-defense / subject control, etc, all the time and not using their training in day to day situation
B: Forgot about pressure under stress
C: Are not the kind of people that have ever experienced complacency in themselves
You can practice any scenario day by day, and perfect it.

He was trained by specialist for this movie too
There are a few clips floating around, He does three gun competitions and when they started prop work for the film the prop master mad a point of using props that mirrored Keanu's personal weapons. The primary training he did for the movie was learning to use the center axis relock system which is a shooting style recently developed specifically for close quarters gun fights.
@@FirstIsa I've seen them before he's really skilled
His training was done by Taran Tactical. He didn’t shoot three gun matches per say, but part of his trading by Taran Tactical were CQB which is basically what 3 gun is.
No he didn't He was trained by Tarren Tactical and a ex Navy Seal
I appreciate your professional perspective on the John Wick movie fights. Its good to know that they are making it look realistic.
So what I got from this is... John does a pretty good job at keeping a semi low profile as Keanu
It's hard to keep a low profile when you are that tall.
@@evanwilson9906
Its hard until you practice and then its quite easy,
I mean marcus luttrell was a 6ft tall texan that stalked his way out of afganistan. So i guess anything is possible
@@evanwilson9906 he's only 6ft
youtube now recommending things I saw 2 years ago.... I will watch again.
So Keanu Is not only the most bad ass character with John wick but he's also thr most lethal actor in Hollywood. Awesome. Considering he's down to earth and kind hearted.
He learned Kung fu for the matrix too alongside wire training
He's been training for 20 years!!
Kung Fu is not a martial art.
@MechanicalWWF I believe that he meant that Kung Fu is actually a generic, american-made term to refer to chinese martial arts in general, even though they're completely different schools. He just didn't phrase it it very well.
John wick was trained by a fire arms instructor and not just Hollywood bs
El Mercenario he also trained in jiu jitsu to make his grappling realistic
Thanks...Captain OBVIOUS 😑😮
@Ryan Palm Taran Tactical*
The even better fact is when you learn Keanu Reeves records his own firing range exercises and uses that to improve, he's been training to be Wick for YEARS
@@AnchorMcDaddy Really the most stellar thing about it all? The guy sweeps his own brass up after. How often do you think a movie star really does that when the gophers need work?
The only unrealistic stuff is that goons or enemies tend to rush John Wick with no cover even tho they're holding a range weapon.
I noticed the same. Like why not hide and shoot him while he is distracted
@@marcusaureliusregulus2833 Because that would make a really boring and short movie :D john wick dies in the first shootout, the end.
@@FINNlSH lmao
@@FINNlSH But it was a f*cling good series. Really enjoyed it
Amen, and thats a BIG part of the story, isn't it, if it was REAL?
5:53 He was about to say "I can tell you from experience"
Isreal Murray he’s shot up a church before
@@brendansanderson5443 On his day off.
they actually cut it out and poorly as well lol.
Or "I can tell from looking"
Brendan Sanderson or maybe he’s breached into a large building and been the point-man to first engage targets so he knows that in John wick they did it right cause that’s how he did it...(when talking about killing people tend to have a hard time talking about it so he probably froze and gave them that look of someone who has seen killing and then got back on track)
Plot twist : John wick is a documentary, of his daily life
So he keeps adopting dogs, retards keep killing them then John kills the retards... sounds like a desirable life
@@fabroski7113 👍😄
Lul.
@@fabroski7113 hahaha true
Yeah, timelines of these 3.moves (john wick, john wick 2,john wick 3 ) happened in like 3-4.weeks.sry for bad english
He’s a professional gunman even before he was John wick
actually no,stop spreading shit info
@@genyauu3634 actually keanu reaves is pretty much a proffessional gunman before he did the movie, he had intensive firearm training, including live rounds training. you should look shit up and do research before you make baseless assumptions.
@@grimari4850 that fucking video you saw? that was a training for john wick dumbfucktardedass

@@genyauu3634 Fucktarded. Never heard that one lol. Going to use it on my friends now haha
Best movie trilogy ever. So much research, training and little detail put into these films
He learned how to do it all.
“Obviously law enforcement is not Hollywood” 😂 Keanu might just be one of the most dedicated actors of all time
Go look up video's where he is training Taran Tactical...Reeve's and Haily Berry both Trained with these people...He is an incredible shooter
Keanu actually dodges a bullet. That bullet time is just a slow mo inorder for us to comprehend or even visualize of what really happened. Amazing guy!
I thought at the beginning he was gonna talk about him in the shower lmao
"watch as he drops the soap .. he doesnt panic, checks over both shoulders before retrieving it. " lmao
@@zzCaptHowdy "You can read the tattoo on his broad shoulders, those 3 latin words essentially mean he is not afraid of bending over. So that's the kind of shower threat you should expect from a professional but it's not the biggest threat. The biggest threat as you can see is in the front : That massive cock."
"Ah, yes. The way he showers is exactly how we officers shower every morning before shooting a bunch of mercenaries in my own house."
😂😂😂😂Fack
"notice how he scrubs as he washes off, that's really how you're supposed to do it instead of just rinsing."
I LOVED how Keanu would depress the mag release button on his handgun and immediately flick his wrist to get that empty mag to eject even faster so he could do a lightning fast reload.
I had never seen that done before in a Hollywood film.
This is sarcasm, right..?
That's actually a Center Axis Relock technique, check it out on youtube
Gitsum.....thank you! I just watched a video and the shooter was even faster than Keanu.
This is a meme
