I always learn something from your videos, you are very relatable! Your analogy with the backseat driver makes perfect sense, it is so annoying that non-artists, if I can use that term loosely, think that ‘art’ is photo realism. It has taken me a long time to have the courage to paint intuitively and not try to replicate something as a result of other people’s expectations. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with all of us!💕🇨🇦
This is amazing. I always feel like a fraud yet all my work really is my own. Now I get it. Others work just went through my filter. This changes everything.
I have started to talk to myself while I am alone painting. I notice an area in the painting that I like and I force myself to explain why I like it. Or areas that are messy or not to my liking - I tell myself why. I should also write this in my sketchbook because I probably will not remember quite the same way. I am keenly aware of what I like and dislike in a painting but I understand that is it important to make it audible, clarified, real. Thgank you for this!

This is sooo good! I have read so many books...sometimes I ask myself...where is all this knowledge. But at the end I am sure it is in every body cell of me and it flows into my artwork. In the last months I did a lot of progress. So Happy! Your teching is a big help!!!
Yes that’s what I’m struggling with the most Time need to start writing down the things I love about other artists work and start playing with it in my sketchbook !

I don't believe it can be any other way if you are very close to your real self though..we always interpret EVERYTHING by processing through our own filters...or hopefully it is the way it happens to most human beings...everything already exists in this Universe & we put our own slant on it as we gather ideas & inspirations..that's my take on it anyways. Thank you for your great vids
I have a 6' x 6" MDF Painting Panel. I would like to put screws to hold my canvases. I notice you have screws too. Could you tell me the spacing you have?
