The Guy Who Posts I'll just point out that Yukes needs to be fired and a new development team needs to be put in place. 2K only publishes the game, it is Yukes that develop it.
I have not played any wrestling games since the n64. Since you seem like you have played quite a few, could you recommend one? I like to be able to use weapons, get the characters visibly beaten up and bloody, good custom character, be able to fight outside of the ring like backstage and stuff if possible. Also, gameplay is very important.
Corpse Party In that case I'd recommend the PS4 and Xbox One versions of WWE 2K15. But If you don't have one of those 2 systems I'd say go with WWE 2K14. I hope this helped a bit
This game is probably my favourite wrestling game on the Xbox 360. I even prefer this over 2k17. I spent so many hours in the game modes, especially story designer and creation suite, creating my own CAWs vs Attitude Era Storylines. I wish they made a game that focused more on WCW during the Nitro Era. That would be awesome.
TheAshevillian I had not played a wrestling game since wcw/nwo thunder for ps1 until this one. i would recommend it for sure the attitude era is awesome. it's a bit glitchy and pretty challenging and sometimes frustrating but all in all its a good time. there are also an insane amount of unlocks.
I agree with you as well. When this game first came out, I was addicted to it like I was with 12 but maybe even more so. I remember thinking this one of the best wrestling games in awhile too. But, the amount of glitches in the game are what ultimately hold it back from being one of the best. WWE 2K14 is pretty much an improved version of this game, with less glitches, and improved flow with the controls. So, I'm hoping WWE video games get even better from here on in.
Tyler Melton I remember the multiple glitches in WWE 13 but considering the crazy amount of glitches & crashes in WWE2K20,WWE 13’s glitches were nothing.
I've seen some reviews of this series and read many peoples opinions on which games are the best. The general consensus seems to be that Shut Your Mouth and Here Comes the Pain are the very best of the series. Most people say HCtP is the better of the two, but some argue that SYM is a little better. Although they are not seen to be on the same level as those games, SvR 2006, SvR 2007, this game(WWE '13), WWE 2K14, and 2K16(I think) are also said to be really good. With the except of the first two games in the series, the rest are considered by the *majority*(not everyone) to be pretty bad.
I love this game but I hardly ever get a good connection online. It's major lag. I learnt to adapt by pressing buttons 2 seconds in advance but then that really stuffs me up when playing a game without lag as I press buttons to early haha. I hate spammers who just use the same move over and over. Spear, spear, spear spear, spear..... just for a win, is that fun? Honestly? Play it like its a real match, WAY more fun and exciting win or lose! Do different moves, take risks etc.
it wasnt just the gameplay though. even the story of no mercy was awesome. it wasnt linear like all the wrestling games have been the past few years. it had branching storylines, depending on whether u win or lose the match, decide to help one person over the other, betrayals, etc. it was awesome in every way
This game on the wii, it's better than wwe 12, but that's not saying much. WWE 13 is a good game, but it does have flaws. The positives are that it has a really good roster (mostly because of the attitude era stars), it has a great attitude era mode, it has some fun match types, and overall the game is fun for the most part. The negatives are that the graphics still looks mediocre, the matches can be very slow when you play them, it had some bad glitches, and some weapon shots had no sound effects. I mean come on, I know it's for the wii, but again it could have been better. I still play it for the attitude era mode and some matches. But I can see why after this they stop making wrestling games for the wii, it's because they don't really care about the wii game system.
Hopefully on next gen consoles the games look super realistic with no glitches and realistic crowd and reactions and being able to go backstage during any match and having tons of freedom.
I do agree with the issues stated but I think that one thing missed was online multiplayer. It seems to never get better even when THQ says it's better. The only time I've actually used online is to download something off of Community Creations. My rating with the online would be 6.9.
This year is all about the Attitude Era which i watch most of my childhood years and its still one of the best WWE era ever but it doesnt feel right where you dont have all the characters that was apart of the era like Kurt Angle, Hardys, the Dudley Boys, DLO Brown and others who were apart of the Attitude
thq has. great sense for the future of their game.. hope it continues for years to come ... next game after released by 2k thq went under .. hahahahaha
I'm considering buying this just for the nostalgia of the attitude era. The last wrestling game I purchased was Wrestlemania X8 for Gamecube... and that was solely based off how much myself and friends loved the old THQ Wrestling games from the late 90s -early 2000s. Countless hours were spent playing WCW/NWO World Tour or Revenge... and WWF No Mercy and Wrestlemania 2000. Those games are classics. I still own them. Maybe it's time to dust 'em off ;).
oh and the "fair fight" option is the way to go. No excuses that way, everybody is on even turf none of this maxed out CAW shit or personal match settings which give a certain type of player the advantage. If anybody from NZ is reading this and wants a proper game, how it was meant to be enjoyed, add me. My PSN name is the same as my youtube name
Yeah it sucked very hard when i noticed Jeff Hardy wasn't available anymore. Also throwing opponents over the top rope with a grappling move was removed, which i also liked to have returned in WWE 13, but still isn't
how do you expect them to make a entirely new game in only 1 year? each game has little tweaks that make it better than the last game like this game has omg moments, universe mode 3.0 and attitude era mode and wwe 12 had a entirely new control system
If you play on Legend and try to do all the objectives, it's not a 3 hour story mode. The online does suck, but the game itself doesn't. If you try to have fun, have frends over, and try having a challenge, it's actually really fun
While I somewhat agree with 8.4, I didn't really agree with a lot ofthe things the reviewer mentioned. I mean if you don't like the new camera angles, you can just turn it off. It's not really an issue, you know? And like someone else mentioned EVERY game suffers from glitches to an extent here and there. It's just a matter of how much it impacts the overall product. And just a reminder, don't ever let a game review ruin your experience with a game.
I don't know about this game, but looking at customization and how you can create the old wwe rings and the the old addition of the attitude era makes me want to get it. I haven't played a wrestling game in years ( SVR 2010 was the last one) so i don't want to be disappointed with this one.
no man they're not rating it as a standalone game. They're rating it as a sequel. For example if there was WWE '12 which got a 9.0 and WWE '13 came out and they didn't change anything except add a few characters and it got a 9.0 then that wouldn't really be a good sequel but a good stand alone game.
The first SVR was good, but Smackdown vs raw 2006 was the best wrestling experience I had ever played. The following SVR 2007 and 2008 wasn't as good...so I stopped purchasing the series ever since. But since I hear WWE 12 and 13 had good ratings, I'm willing to give it a try. Which one would you guys recommend?
I'm probably gonna pick WWE '13 up in a week or so. But I gotta know, do CAWS cause Universe Mode to slow down? For me, in '12 anytime I had a CAW in a match it would take so long to load that I eventually erased all my CAWS and just played with the current roster. I'm playing on PS3
Edge retiring is a time reference. You are right, Daniel Bryan is more over than ever. But they still have Sheamus along with the mediocre reactions he gets holding the world title. It's that kinda thing that pisses me off about the WWE, that Bryan will never be given the chance to be a main eventer, He will never be booked to win the title and defending it, while looking strong. It's that thing where Sheamus, Alberto del Rio and even fucking Ryback have a better chance at the spotlight.
"i remember when it first came to the playstation 1 that's how old I am." Dude, I remember the games on the Super Nintendo, stop acting like you're a veteran.
They made a calculated Physics engine, but it's still pretty clunky and glitchy. I'm sure they will improve it on it over the years, just like EA did with Fifa.
I actually strongly disagree with people who hate this game... I think it's the best wrestling game of all time, and here is why. Words simply cannot justify my love for the 'Attitude Era' just everything about it, from the nostalgia to just the sheer badassery of it. My favourite wrestling game before playing this, and one of my favourite games period, was Smackdown 2: Know Your Role. That game is Attitude Era nostalgia at it's finest. I'm addicted to WWE 13 and nothing beats it nostalgia wise.
I want to cry because they did not release this on vita or 3ds, this is literally my fav series of video games next to monster hunter and I don't have a home console
ANY game gets repetitive. This goes without saying. In order to make it fun you have to challenge yourself. Increase the difficulty, set your own particular challenges. You can make it fun if you try real hard. Just remember that with any game you'll always hit a brick wall and it just won't be fun anymore.
You haven't played a PS2 game in a loooong time haven't you? Please go play a PS2 wrestling game, then come back to this. You will see the difference then.
I seriously wish they could bring back the Career mode, especially during the Attitude Era, I remember how fun the career mode in Here Comes the Pain was, and the replay value was endless! So many different storylines to go by.
I wish that Greg Miller would have reviewed this. It felt like the reviewer wasn't really into the game and not really a fan of wrestling ( example: he said "squared ring" when the proper term is "squared circle"), where Greg is. It wasn't the worst review in the world, but when you're dealing with wrestling you naturally want somebody who will be into the genre in the first place
The only reason this selling is the same reason madden is selling, it's the only of its kind. Which means if you want a wrestling game this is all you get and no competitors to force a major change
its been 6 years since i owned a WWE game so.. i notice phenomenal improvements.. maybe there isnt much difference from wwe 12 but as i remember it the repetitive story line is gone, and i cant praise the attitude era enough, miles more interesting interesting and constantly brings up memories, 9/10
1,000,000$ says they put the rating lower than 12 this year is because they gave 12 too high of a rating (a 9.0) and now 13 is waaaaayyyy better and they can't just say perfect 10 because there is no perfect game
I've been playing since the WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game days. In the Smackdown series of games I would have to say that SvR 2006 is my personal favorite.
And I suppose Halo/Call Of Duty/Battlefield/Portal/Half Life/Bomberman/Sonic/Paper Mario/Bloons are not fictional creations too? The outcomes are scripted, but the bumps can break bones and have!
@AshanDev26 Forget everything IGN said. If you enjoy the chaos of the Attitude Era, the new match types like I quit and Special Guest Ref, and a new and DEFINETLY improved enviorment including a smarter and smooth grappling and reversing system. Also, the made mid-game replays of amazing moments and OMG moments like The Collasping ring, breaking a barricade, standing on top of the announce table and doing your finisher, suplexing opponents from the top rope to the floor outside of the ring, and
WWE needs to fire 2k and rehire THQ
***** Well they need to fire the staff of 2k games because lately they have put out some really shitty WWE games.
***** I guess but I think they stopped trying on 15 tho
The Guy Who Posts I'll just point out that Yukes needs to be fired and a new development team needs to be put in place. 2K only publishes the game, it is Yukes that develop it.
hothamandfauri Thanks
***** 2K and THQ are just publishers. Yukes still makes the games.
Thq makes better wwe games than 2k
I have not played any wrestling games since the n64. Since you seem like you have played quite a few, could you recommend one? I like to be able to use weapons, get the characters visibly beaten up and bloody, good custom character, be able to fight outside of the ring like backstage and stuff if possible. Corpse Party In that case I'd recommend the PS4 and Xbox One versions of WWE 2K15. But If you don't have one of those 2 systems I'd say go with WWE 2K14. I hope this helped a bit
Draculoid Awesome thanks
Corpse Party or you could get xbox 360 or ps3 version of wwe svr 2011.
yeah
Man, i woul probably cut 2K14 some slack if they made their story mode based on the Ruthless Agression era, which was like 2002 to 2007.
+Griffin Higbe Then again, Attitude Era mode in this game went from 1997 to 1999 and that's not counting the bonus and off script matches.
Same
Where are all the dislikes coming from? I thought this was a pretty good game. You internet wrestling fans can never be satisfied lmfaoo
I agree but 2k14 is better.
K1NG MCMAHON
I also agree.
Defalt 2k15 is better
Thunderfury V Hell yes.
This game lack roster .. not enough new people .
Haven't played one of these in years, but upon hearing about the attitude era addition to this game, I really want it.
WWE Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain.....was the best to me....
2k14 was the best to me
I've spent easily 100 hours in universe mode alone. This is one of my favorite games of all time.
was it worth?
I kind of miss RTWM
Me too :(
Have not played a wrestling game since WWF No Mercy on N64. Been thinking about getting back into these games!
TheAshevillian I had not played a wrestling game since wcw/nwo thunder for ps1 until this one. i would recommend it for sure the attitude era is awesome. it's a bit glitchy and pretty challenging and sometimes frustrating but all in all its a good time. there are also an insane amount of unlocks.
i got it for like 4 dollars on fleaby, looll. Is backstage any good?
@@RagedContinuum no backstage free roam but there are backstage matches but with limits
Here comes the pain will always be my favorite wrestling game. The roster and gameplay is just too good
Overall a good game. A step up from WWE 12 with the Attitude Era branding and more expanded creation suite. However there were a fuckload of glitches
I agree with you as well. When this game first came out, I was addicted to it like I was with 12 but maybe even more so. I remember thinking this one of the best wrestling games in awhile too. Personally. Smackdown shut your mouth was the best along with SVR 2007.
YES!
I agree

i think the whole svr series and wwe 12 was the peak of good wrestling games
I like how people use the term "i like how" when referring to something they dont like....yeah.
I love this game but I hardly ever get a good connection online. It's major lag. calm that nostalgia down a lil bit bro haha..
Wtf?
It's better .. But not comparing the graphics of wwe 2k15 /16 to 14 years ago!
No they dont

THQ is a publisher. Yuke's, a Japanese company, developed this game.
They also developed your beloved HCTP, DOR, and 2008.
Wwe smackdown sym and hctp are the greatest wrestling games of all time
Definitely 2 of the best anyways.
Hopefully on next gen consoles the games look super realistic with no glitches and realistic crowd and reactions and being able to go backstage during any match and having tons of freedom.
is true man, i love the 2008 still my fav game of all times :D
The reviewer from last year's game was a different guy. This series is not overrated at all,if anything it's underrated. This game is great.
Lol Smackdown Shut Your Mouth and Day of Wreckening are the best wwe games ever made!!
My favourite was the first smackdown vs raw!!
***** That one was pretty damn good, but of all the SVR games, I prefer 2007
Lol no 13 is better
one thing i miss was the skill set ability system from '08, what i mean is having high flyer, submission, hardcore, etc.

I like how he didnt mention the new match types, mid air finishers, breaking the ring, or expanded universe mode with branching storylines.
I think the noisy crowd adds to the realism factor.
In real life you can also barely hear yourself talking with 100.000 people screaming at a time.
THQ aren't the ones who make the game, they just publish it. THQ isn't even around anymore as well. 2k games owns the game's publishing rights now.
I swear the intro to this and every other wwe game review by ign starts the same
Man 2k did well with 2k14 after that it went to hell. Wwe 13 was my absolute favorite
THQ published 2k14
Yeah it sucked very hard when i noticed Jeff Hardy wasn't available anymore.

Idk why they said the audio is bad. It's alot better than wwe 12's audio. Can't wait to play this game tomorrow.
The Only problem i found with this game is that the AI kick out of every thing. I don't think Zack Ryder can kick out of Attitude adjustment.
I think wwe games should not be yearly but once every 2 or 3
audio issues? but they said its GROUND BREAKING SOUND! thats all they ever bragged about.
The only thing wrong with this game are the innumerable glitches. The one-count glitch is really annoying.
I wish that Greg Miller would have reviewed this. Did you know that in my career mode if you preview a locked move and press x or A it will be added to the moveset
I've been playing since the WWF Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game days. In the Smackdown series of games I would have to say that SvR 2006 is my personal favorite.
its supposed to be reviewed on the game not if the game was a huge step up from past wrestling games or not...
the attitude era and custom arenas makes me addicted to this game especially since i used the cas slots for even more attitude era guys
yeah the only thing I didn't like was that the dudleys and the hardys were not in the game both team were a great part of the Attitude Era

they need to look at HCP, SVSR-SVSR 2008 for single player and the attitude mode because when finish attitude mode the game is basically over
