- Back in the late 2000s and early 2010s, whenever a new WWE game would drop, it would feature a mode called "Road to WrestleMania", the mode for the first few years gave you a few different stories to choose from and let you play a mini story mode all about getting to WrestleMania. Road to WM quickly became a fan favorite mode and every year fans were excited for what new stories the developers could come up with. WWE '12 ended up being the last WWE game to have a RTWM mode. Its been 13 years and we never got another. However even though it was the last mode, the developers decided to go out with a BANG. Instead of a few short stories, they decided to make one large mode with 3 stories that all somehow intertwine with each other. A Villain story, an Outsider story and lastly a Hero story. Sheamus, Triple H and Jacob Cass
These three stories ended up being some of the wildest wrestling video game stories we had ever seen, and to this day are iconic for how crazy they got. So I decided 13 years later to go back and revisit these stories and after playing them.. All I can say is, WWE 12's Road to WrestleMania was INSANE!

That's why 2k24 and 2k20 hâd a custon made wrestlemania arena since the game hâd a huge time skip.
The storyline starts in 2011 then it ends in 2013 at WCW starcade in December 2013
And those WM27 are better than the actual one....
And all 3 of them ended up being better than the actual Wrestlemania 27 lol

Yukes and THQ made a better invasion angle than the WWF did back in 2001.
Still unbelievable to this day since the wcw guys in this game were not even as good as the ones in the invasion in 2001

If you count the WWE Civil War in Smackdown Shut Your Mouth, that's twice they did it better than the real WWF.
WWE 12 was an underrated game. it had a great universe mode, decent gameplay and a good RTWM yet it still does not get enough love it deserves.
WWE 12 and WWE 13 were incredible underrated games that were really special. To put out 2 bangers after the SvR games really helped ease into a new era of wrestling games and are better than half the SvR games!

It lacked a soundtrack that captivated the nostalgia everybody looks to these games for.
2K should replace Showcase mode in 2K25 with a new Road To Wrestlemania
Having RTWM and MyRise in the same game would be peak
I wouldn’t care because they always ruin something that came from THQ’s era the first time and would rather a wait a whole year to improve instead of a patch

They actually have a lot of continuity moments (aka. long term storyteling) in that entire RTWM, it's kinda crazy just for a wrestling video game, they have so much atention to detail, even more than the 'Vince McMahon' WWE itself

Oh man, I’d do anything to get Road to WrestleMania back in the current games. The potential is endless with a lot of the current stars, and it’s a shame they haven’t thought of it. Here’s hoping they bring this mode back one day.🙏

I loved WWE 12‘s RTWM. it was so epic to play as John Cena only to be attacked by Sheamus and then you play as him. The only negative thing was, there were too many Backstage fights. But it’s still miles ahead of Todays Story modes. Way too much over Social Media.

Looking at this video how Drew is looked at as the most useless member of the United Kingdom faction. Definitely wasn't wrong really but if 2K ever bought the United Kingdom faction to MyRise or continued it in some way Drew would be the strongest member today.

This mode was so good that they stopped the RTWN story lines because they knew they couldn’t top this!

This was the first WWE Game I ever played and man I was so invested in this story. I felt like I was fighting in WW3. That Jacob Cass story had me on the edge of my seat. Damn I miss THQ.

It's so sad Showcase hasn't been great since 2k16 (to me at least) but also sad this is the last game it's been featured in. Yeah my rise isn't bad, but nowhere near RTWM levels

This road to wrestlemania story brings back so many memories. This being the last time we see this mode also made it special. I’d love to see more original stories like this with different wrestlers outside of your created character in future WWE games.
This mode was by fire the most creative fun and insane mode in any wrestling game in the history that i actually think they were better than wwe’s booking at that year 💀
My main gripe with the WWE 12 storymode was how tedious and repetitive all those backstage brawls felt after a while. Other than that, I really did enjoy it.

I think this was my first experience with Vader since WWE really wasn't lionizing him like other legends at the time. I definitely thought he was THE FREAKING MAN between this storyline and playing as him in universe mode.

This was nostalgic. WWE '12 reinvigorated my love for wrestling games and i loved the story and controls.

Back in 2020, I started watching your video and I got into wrestling big time. I wanted to play an old THQ wrestling game, and all I could find at the local gamestop was a rusty WWE 12 disc. When that disc worked, I played that game like crazy! I LOVED this RTWM, and I still think it's the best. WWE 12 had some quirks, but I still love that game. When I see a video about it, I click instantly!

I got this game for the Wii for my 12th birthday and I remember the first thing I did was play the Road to Wrestlemania mode. The Sheamus story was wild as hell and I still remember that ending with him holding every single belt on his Ultimo Dragon shit. The Triple H story like you said was good, but when it was sandwiched between two all timer stories it's easy to forget. But you know what I'll never forget for as long as I live? The first time I played through the Jacob Cass story. Rey Mysterio was and is still to this day my favorite wrestler of all time so being his student in the story, having him turn on you to side with WCW, defeating him and the rest of WCW in that wild ass final match with that Avengers lineup was something to behold. What a time to be alive man, I wish I could go back and experience it for the first time all over again!

WWE 12 is one of my favorite wrestling games ever because of the RTWM’s we got, also great upload really helped me take my mind off the fact that my second cousin Brandon sadly passed away yesterday morning in his sleep he was only 17.

WWE '12 was definitely a different breed, RTWM and universe mode both being complete unabridged chaos, the customization second only to 2k14, I remember sinking hours into universe just to see what wacky crap the game would cook up from show to show. I'd spent so much time on the game that it just outright refused to work on any ps3 I played it on after a while, not a scratch on the disc but no console would play it properly.

I have always thought that this was the best RTWM and I remember after it was over I kept trying to do stuff like throw someone through the chamber pod, throw them off the stage, throw them into a spotlight, throw them through the titantron, and break the ring by putting someone through the HIAC which as a kid was the coolest thing I seen in a wrestling game. This RTWM tricked me into thinking we could do way more than we could.

One of my top 3 fav wwe games, spent so many hours on this , the mode where u can create the story from scratch 😭😭 universal mode was so fire, the format and layout of everything from the contenders list to the background music and vibe, what a time, 12 year old me was just chilling spending hours on this game man
