Ethan, I'm sure this trip was far in the past, but I hope you remember the stream you walked over to get in the building at Harrah's Cherokee. It is a legit, high-quality trout fishing stream. The only one in any casino parking lot in the whole of the U.S. Please tell me you got out and hiked around a little bit. It's one of the most beautiful places in the country.
Nice you are closer to where I am, Rampage. I live in Georgia, but if I knew someone who could give me a ride AND I knew I wouldn't have to worry about working that night or the night afterwards, I might be tempted to go to Cherokee, NC myself. However, last few weeks I've "run bad IRL"--I broke a tooth (and will need a big-money dental implant) and had to replace a starter in my car (which was over 600 bucks to replace). So I had "bankroll issues" to trump "opportunity issues" to worry about. Hope you have a great time in Cherokee!

Back maybe around 2009, I went (from New England) to Cherokee for about10 days, specifically to play on the PokerPro electronic tables. Do they still have them at Cherokee? I learned to love playing on those tables after Mohegan Sun installed some before bringing back their "real" poker room, after several years of having no poker following some sort of drugs/hookers/corruption scandal at their original poker room before I played there. I remember staying at a Holiday Inn Express in Sylva the first few days, then grabbing a bargain motel in Maggie Valley, and enjoying the drive there. I think it was winter, because I remember cranking up the room heater upon arrival at the mostly-empty motel, because in the off-season they didn't keep empty rooms fully heated in their off season. People at the casino acted like I was crazy to drive to Maggie Valley in the winter, but hey, I'm from New England, winter weather driving is not a problem.
Yoooo, the second the video began I was like thats Cheerokee! Fun fact, left my suitcase about 20ft from that spot when I was last there haha. ( a good person luckily brought suitcase to the staff). Cant wait to see the content and think I played there before. SICK AF!

I saw (I think it was) your tweets from the room and was unsure that it was NC. You'd always said "Cherokee" and while I assumed NC, there is another Cherokee (or maybe 3) in other states. That is the concert venue, which is why I saw the tweet photo and said to myself...not Cherokee's Main Poker room. Wouldve driven up to take it in, but...next time. I'd ask if you ever slow down...but we all know the answer.

12:30 Good fold of AK imo. Live tournament players are not 5-bet jamming AQ. They're not 5-bet jamming JJ, and they're *probably* not jamming QQ. So on your exceptionally good days, you're 45:55 behind QQ, or you're flipping with another AK, or you're crushed by KK+. Great laydown.
