You have an abundance of useful information. I am currently in a Bridge LVN to RN program. What they tell me is to think like a brand new nurse. These videos are exactly what I needed. Thanks and keep them coming.
This is so true. The scenario questions are so nerve wrecking, they made me sweat but it is a preparation for next interviews. There use make sense because they're tests to see how good you are on your toes. Great advice!!
This is the best video EVER! I have my first GN interview next week with a panel of 6 nurse educators. Of course I am extremely nervous, but this has helped me get an idea of what to expect. Those case study scenarios sound scary. Thank you for this video, Nacole!
My Interview is tomorrow. Your video was absolutely amazing. Thanks so much for the encouragement. I wish you great success in your nursing career. God Bless You Nacole! :)
Thanks for this video, I took the NLCEX on Wed. and found out on Friday through the state board website that I have my license. Now I can focus more on finding work, so this video is right on time for me.
Great video! That "strengths/weaknesses" question is a standard! I interviewed (for a non-healthcare job), got asked that question, except the manager said, "tell me a weakness and do NOT make it sound like a strength." I started talking, and he stopped me and said, "Stop, you're turning it into a strength. Tell me a real weakness." Stressful!! I got the job, but I can't for the life of me remember what I said as an answer to that question.
You just freaked my whole life out lol. But it's great to have the juices flowing again. I graduated in Sept, passed my broads in Nov (day before thanksgiving) and now I have an interview for a paid internship and I'm freaking out about what they would ask. It's for a Critical Care internship and I was wondering what are some questions that they may ask in an internship vs a floor position. Thank you!
Thank-you so much for this video (and all of your others!) I am a new graduate (graduated 3 days ago!!!) and I just got a call for an interview on the floor the I did my preceptorship on. I am so nervous for the interview - but will be using your tips to help me prepare! Thanks again!!!!
Great video! Thanks for the information. Quick question....do you have any tips are examples of appropriate responses to behavioral questions, such as "What will you do when your unit is short-staffed, and you are required to give a treatment that you have never done before?" What type of assistance and support will you need in order to get up to speed?"
My tips to those questions would be to seek assistance from management or floor resources. Regarding "getting up to speed," I also seek out additional resources classes or training classes on your establishment. Management loves to hear you wanting to learn more and that you have a willingness to ask for help when you don't know what you're doing. Nothing is more dangerous than a nurse who will NOT ask for help. I hope that helps : )
