That makes so much sense, and seems so obvious. There's nothing in the instructions that preclude that, but I have to wonder if there's something in the way they work that compromises the function, especially just above the exhaust?
@@thomasarcher9921 So I may have misspoken when I said upside down. I meant backwards with the reservoir facing the top front. I don't have the stock exhaust so I can't comment on if they contact when riding.
I got the adjustable piggy back suspension. This is like night and day from stock suspension. Recommended. I also have the Ends Cuoio Tomahawk bags. I just got 2" spacers from Lowes. It lifts the bags above the shocks. Only cost me $7. Was an easy fix.
I went with the Arnott air ride on my bobber. They are nice and adjustable on the fly and they fit with all bags that I have tried. Hope all is well in time with these. Can't wait for the long term review!
Great video! On a side note, if you are watching this video on anything with a good audio system the rattle from the bass you get from whatever background music you have is nuts!!! Looking forward for a chance at those saddlebags. Thanks Dad!!!

Great video and those are without a doubt some very nice shocks you've gone over to! Ride and stay safe down there in Austin!

Curious on how these perform. I have RaceTech's G3-S piggy back shocks and their gold valve cartridge emulators and RT springs in my forks on my 2018. Their G3-S piggy back shocks have compression dampening, preload adjustment, rebound dampening, and ride height adjustment. Rides so smooth and handles awesome. My son worked his butt off the past 2 years to buy it off from me, so I got a new Scout Bobber ABS that I have been updating for the past month. Got it in Thunder Black this time around to save some money because I want to do my own paint job. Already installed RaceTech's springs and gold cartridge emulators in the forks. Was waiting for the availability of Indians new piggy back shocks to see how they would compare to RT's G3-S.
I can't compare to the G3-S but I did a 200 mile ride with varied riding and they were stellar, better than I had hoped. I'll be doing a 1500 mile review of them soon as I'm getting close to 1500 miles with them on and unless anything bad happens that review will be all positive.
@@dadwithabike I went ahead and ordered Indians piggy back shocks yesterday. A friend of my cousins let me take his scout bobber for a spin to see if I would like them. Really depends on what you want to do with them. I didn't do the Fox because you can't control rebound, compression and pre-load....only pre-load and rebound.
Can and I tried that a few different ways and just didn't like them that way. In some of those positions they were either too close to my swingarm or to inline with my exhaust on the other side.
Hi, not a new subscriber, but a new commenter. I do not own an Indian, but I like that you showed how the shocks and the fitment with different saddlebags
Very insightful video man.. I was wondering that the other day if the adjustable suspension would be an issue with the saddle bag, how it would all fit, thanks for answering that. great video. Now, decisions....
I now this vide is about shocks . But I go to work at 3am in the morning. Do you think the Vance and Hines would be too loud for the neighbors.. that early , sorry I ask a lot of questions.. probably annoying lol
Nope - all questions are fine! The V&H are very loud unless you have baffles. If you have neighbors that would complain about noise then almost all aftermarket exhaust will cause the problem. Best option is to get the one's you want but also get baffles.

For those who want to purchase these shocks, the preload is going to be different from the the stock shock settings in your owners manual because the piggyback shocks are longer. I called Indian today out of curiosity and asked what the preload is suppose to be for these specific shocks, it's 282mm. I was 1mm off from what I set them at which was 283mm. I ended up doing a bit of math to make up the difference of the shocks being longer when I first purchased them, hence how I got to 283mm. The person I talked to via customer service added a note for the tech team to put the 282mm preload in the installation guide so that people who purchase them won't have to guess at what they are suppose to be set at or have to call customer service to get the preload number. Hope this is helpful to people who want to update their shocks to these ones.
Nicely done and thanks for adding the comment. I used the Dave Moss method for setting mine and it would have been nice to have the values in the manual. Thanks for helping!
