There are still very smart people in Kenya who can transform and improve our economy if given chance.

Never shortage of smart individuals in Kenya. The only tragedy is that all their brilliant work has to be approved by politicians (don't get me wrong we also have very smart politicians but they never get an opportunity to deliver). The work of politicians is to screw up things to enrich themselves at the expense of the public.

With smart technocrats like him in public service, I wonder how we end up with bad deals like the SGR and other white elephants. Politicians need to use our technocrats more to move our country ahead.

Very impressive ideas...Wishing for all the stop guards are put in place, to ensure transparency and fairness and at the same time include small local players with great ideas.

Infrastructure is one bit but it has been used before in other areas too - because investment is investment. PPP is not really new. Only the words have been recoined. Otherwise it is well known that companies like Muhoroni Sugar, Mumias Sugar, Agro Chemicals & Foods, Pan African Paper Mills, Nzoia Sugar etc all came about on a PPP platform. Unfortunately, in all the cases the government always gets the short end of the stick - because negotiators put their own interest ahead of the nations. Nevertheless the idea is extremely good. We need to move farther to kill selfish negotiators when the sell the nation for personal benefit.
