Love the content. Specially knowing you have a normal life like most of us. Knowing that you have to work and use your small free time to create this content and then edit makes me want want to watch more and more. Im in college and have a 2002 is300. I plan on building the engine as well as having the cd009 or r154. Learned a lot from your motor build and knowing I can also use my mechanical engineering background to do all the hands on things motivates me.
Awesome break down of the true cost to do a swap right. I hear so many guys say so and so swap on CD009 are so cheap, yet there's more then meets the eye. So many variables in parts, time, and labor that goes into a swap done correctly. Thanks for putting this out there for people to see.
Lmao, I've had a whiteboard for the past 8 years in my garages, and you know what it's the best progress meter ever. There a lot of projects begun and conquered thanks to that board.
Cbf performance makes custom bracket and short shifter at a good price, serial nine does as well with the optional three position shifter adjustment. But I hope all goes well, with your build, the newer trans is referred to as the JK41A, with the internal slave cylinder, thats why people opt for the CD009/CD00A.
It's so many hero cars from the 90s that you can acquire cheap now but the cost to get them to make good reliable power is so much, that it can be discouraging to even want to start a project.
Hey ryan, i think you should look into the multiplate clutch option as it put less strain on the rear main seal. Also, the stock 350z uses a 3.5 gear ratio diff, wouldnt the swap benefit you more if you kept the ratio closer to stock 350z? I purchased a gs400 diff for $100 and plan on swapping in a kaaz lsd(new for $950) or os giken(new $1600). Also, take a look into a company called serialnine, they make a fantastic one off shifter which uses a new factory nissan reverse lockout plate. Its a beautiful piece but will set you back about 450. Oh and you may need one of thise Dakota gps signal things to keep your speedo reading right
the JDM Supra TT 6 speed came with the 200mm ring gear diff as well. Same helical TRD, but smaller LSD overall. So yes... lower top speed, Read: yet another reason the JDM supras aren't worth as much as the cruise missile american ones with atmospheric top speeds.
hi Ryan I love the information that you are giving out to the public. I second that I saw your first video I got hooked. I have a question I am doing the swap on my supra from auto to manual I have a nissan cdc001 transmission. can I use my stock rear-end. I now the 1997 supra twin turbo came with the lsd different. any advice will be very appreciated thanks and keep up the good work Richard.
Richard Novo have you even checked what the ratio for your rear DIFF is?? im pretty sure its like a 4.00 ratio DIFF. and that's way too short for a Cd001, you need a different DIFF, costly if you buy a TT supra DIFF, but there maybe a hybrid setup way to avoid huge cost.
great videos man. I'm looking to get an is300 in a year or two to have as a project car. I think it would be cool to see your input on Is300's with 2jz turbo builds
I don't think RedBull helps with ADD ;) BTW - great channel. I'm preparing for auto -> manual swap, but I think I'm going with 6-speed bmw 530d gearbox instead of cd009. We have tons of them here in europe ;)
Im actually considering a CD009 Swap for my GS300, any suggestions? I'll have the aristo swap in it, what are all the parts would I need? So I can get all of them ready to go and get it done faster.
not gonna lie im a little mad im just now finding ur supra videos u should be as in depth as u can with ur 009 swap wen i leave japan ill do the swap in my jspec mrk4
You make me want a Supra, Ryan. Just so I can use this wealth of information. You're the bomb dude, can't wait to see the CD009 in there.
PURE Function NEITHER CAN WE!
Gears and Gasoline Atleast it'll build boost this time haha :)

Supra store has a cd009 2jz adapter kit also uses the r154 bellhpusing and has a twin disc setup
Ammoking the r154 bell housings are worth a couple hundred dollars more then the auto bell housings that you can find at any junkyard.

Hell no bro. 1st Gen Mitsu Eclispes/Talons are going for under $3k. Good condition and mods. Make Evos and garbage Subeez cry all day long.
Gotta really love the car you pick. Or go super light weight like Ford Festiva or something.
You csn do everything slowly until you finish it. You dont have to rush.
Cbf has a kit for those ripping supra straight 6 for Mk3 cressida and jz chassises for just under 3.5k after shipping
jdm 6 speed supra I believe they had the 220mm 3.26 diff vs the usdm 3.13.
Mike I have a 220mm torsen internal
Thank you🙏
great info man keep it up. first time warching your videos .
I have a twin turbo 96 rhd supra and its an automatic... keep the rear diff with the cd009 swap or go different diff?
Thanks for this series man, currently deciding rebuilt R154 or Cd9 for my NA-T SC300. I also bought a whiteboard a few days ago haha
Very cool. Just curious, but what is the size of your garage? Square footage and height? Thanks.
How big is your garage bro? Really looking for a garage this size! Thanks
Buy a cool glass board to write on they are very cool and would look sick in your setup
👍🏾👍🏾 gives me a idea for my sc300 with cost with the swap!
Thanks bro for all the information I'm doing the same swap on my jzs147 aristo. so in which supra can I find the diff in ?
Hey what's up man I'm contemplating doing the same thing anyway you would have time to let me know how your project is going maybe post some content

Huh, I have some of the stuff for this swap already that I was given over the years. Maybe I will do a cd009 swap
I’m doing the same swap in a is300 and I want to know what other flywheel and clutch disc can I use
I have a 2010 Infiniti g37s 6mt transmission there or 2 sensor on it black and blue what are they for
I'm planning on swapping the auto trans IS300 for the cd009. I've been looking at so many swap videos, it's ridiculous.
lilman227 how you know the cd#009. I just buy 2010 6mt and its make cd8#1 cd4#2

did you swap from auto to manual doing your first build?
why did you stop with the swap?
I have a cd009. Now my 99 sc400 has a 3.26 rear end(200mm). What are my options as far as LSD?
Aaron Agsalud how much did it cost so far?
2:19 bro u said wright lmao its write man! nice channel tho dude I love the vids. Any thoughts of like a project car in the future?

how big is your garage?
I think you forgot something important... Speedometer. AFAIK CD009 do not have a sensor for speedometer
GPS speedo adapter
Stock flywheel?
Any updates?
not gonna lie im a little mad im just now finding ur supra videos u should be as in depth as u can with ur 009 swap wen i leave japan ill do the swap in my jspec mrk4
Keep your Supra for investment, their price keep going up toward 130,000
drive shaft 500 bucks is high as f no way that shop must have huge overhead
Wright?😂 Yoh mean Write? Lol I hope that was a joke lmfao
That Acura though
You “wright” like a child? Ha!
your titel is wrong.
ProGunnieDutchHD irony. it's Title
