Nick is an old tree man, and a big requirement for that is no fear of heights Among other things ,he has helped Dan thin the forest around the chateau. And that called for some major climbing too!

Viewers have been saying this since he started the project. Him even installing railings for the stairs was considered a major victory. Face it, its not gonna happen.
Agree, matter of time before he has some sort of accident. Can't keep getting away with it on a project as long as this. Agree with the comment about ear protection. Living with tinnitus is no fun. But he's a grown man and will make his own decisions in life.

I'd forgotten how terrifying installing last year's OSB roof was. You fellows were like human spiders climbing walls. I was ashamed of myself laughing out loud seeing the replay. I think it was just a nervous reaction listening to the howling winds last winter. I can hardly believe you were able to work on it. It was such bad weather--I guess you had no choice but to press on. Your work is utterly amazing. Best programming I've ever watched. Deeply grateful to you for taking us along this chateau rescue. So proud of all of you.

My dad, who was safety conscious according to safety rules at the time, still lost his front teeth when a board slid down the roof right into his mouth. Safety isn't boring!

Great, now I have to watch tomorrow's episode to see the surprise! And by the way, pointing a nail gun at your body while nailing boards like Brian did is a bad habit. A nail could go through the board and into your chest. Safety is always an idea, not always reality. It's great to see the progress. Once the whole building is water tight, it won't take long to finish the interior.

Working on the roof in strong wind and rain even in those few minutes was more exciting (and more fearful) than anything I've ever seen in a movie, maybe because it's real. Calm down my beating heart!
It might be "safe and boring" but rappelling down the château is certainly worth it!! Plus, I can't imagine taking on that roof job without all the necessary safety gear.

On big jobs I always looked at bad weather as an opportunity to down tools and take a day off to recharge the batteries.
Too many times it didn't rain enough probably because I was working in the heart of the driest continent on earth.
I was working 7 day weeks but always took off at 2 on Sunday's to play golf on a course that had no grass. Not one blade but it kept me sane.
After more than a year of me watching your show I still can not get enough.....great job on everything, building to video and everything in between....thanks!

Ive never in all my days seen so many nervous nellies. He knows the risks people! Let it go, please. If it causes you so much trepidation, try not watching the next few episodes. Hes an adult and obviously going to behave as one. Yes we all hope hes safe and careful. But all this worry about choices is not going to make a bit of difference. Your all so worked up about that and barely anyone's noticed or commented on the work that's getting done. This is a building channel, not a safety protocols channel. I really do enjoy nick working with Dan...he. is a regular now and I can't imagine him not featuring anymore...but I must say I was equally happy seeing him in lalande talking about the garden, trees and seeing him taking down a tree was great-aunt I miss him there walking with Stephanie in the beautiful forest of lalande....yesterday seeing him conversing and explaining with Stephanie's guest made me realise how he is way less shy and more engaging than he use to be...nick didn't like the camera much so seeing him discussing energetically with people made me realise how much he changed😂nick promised to bring back the lack so I do hope he will be there when they start the lack project.
If this project was in the USA it you would have so many regulations and inspectors there , you would still be cleaning trash out of the basement.
Ok folks let’s not over-react on Dan’s comment … good grief I have no doubt that he does understand the need for safety
he also understands how just being careful when doing certain jobs goes a long way in ensuring safety…
he has a lot of confidence in his way of working on site, thereby taking responsibility for his decision to work the way he does. No amount of safety gear can prevent injuries where the individual wearing them is not being cautious in his job assuming that the safety gear is all that is needed … as I’m sure Nick will attest to.
