I always embraced the idea of the "third piece" without being conscious of it -- scarves! Working in a cold office, it was a necessity but also became my 'signature' look. A great fitting jacket also works wonders!
I love that you described the "third piece" as a hero piece. I'm not a very "fussy" dresser (i.e. I'm probably practical to a fault). So while I love style and to express myself through clothes, sometimes my outfits have felt a bit lackluster to me because I didn't layer/wear a hat/wear a ton of jewelry, etc. to get that "third piece." But now I try to have more "hero" pieces--a really cool bag, a pair of statement earrings, a really interesting pair of shoes, etc. It makes me feel more stylish and put together :)
I am not ordinarily a YT commenter but I do wish to say I discovered this channel and after seeing many of Bethanys videos these are the most inspiring and impactful fashion vlogs I have yet to come across. Spent the weekend enamored in the overall style reviewed here. Just arrived home spending a Sunday finding additional key pieces that include linen pieces that will fit into what I already have. My wardrobe feels alive and invigorated and because of these videos discovered a style that I love but did not yet quite know how to incorporate. Great video! I really appreciate your comment on juxtaposition. I tend to wear more basics, because I’m not sure how to bridge the gap between my feminine and bold/edgy sides. As a result, what I wear isn’t much of a reflection of who I am. Thanks for giving me the nudge to start mixing it up!
You actually give a lot of useful information such as textures, combining mat and shiny, pant rise, etc. There are a few of you on here who really have something to teach us, but for the most part, a lot of the girls on here doing this, do nothing more than copy each other. They all say you need the same five things in a wardrobe, and they are all the same thing.

Since I started watching your videos, my confidence in my style choices has grown so much. Today I met someone I used to know in my early twenties (I'm 27 now), and it reminded me of how awkward and insecure I used to feel in my clothes. So thank you! Your content really makes a difference.
I have so many sides it's crazy. I love the bold, I love the dainty pinks, I love the western looks and turquise jewelry, I love hats. I love jeans, and tees. I love knits. I love just throwing on what is the fastest thing. I want to be purposeful in my dress. I want to go out of the house feeling like a million bucks even if no one comments on my new turquise and silver necklace or my beautiful bracelets and rings. I love them. I like what you said that we are only this age for a very short time so why not enjoy it? I am in my sixties. I can't wear those little short skirts and midriff showing tops. There are just some of those things that I have to remember where I am in my life. I hate it because I've always not been limited but now I am. But there are lots of things I can still wear. I can wear what you wore in the video and look hot. Choosing classic pieces along with a trendy piece is what I aim for.

It’s the philosophy of investing in quality vs quantity. I found that that buying cheap clothes ends up being more expensive because of their durability.
A bit late to the video but it was really nice food for thought. I have to admit that even though I really would love to wear certain styles, I've been a bit scared to. Life is short though and I really want to live to the fullest, and that includes not restricting myself on the way I want to dress. Thanks for another great video!
