Something that might be a cool video idea and that a lot of people don’t know is that after Bugatti was liquidated in the 90’s there was 21 or so remaining EB110 chassis remaining, so a few ex-employees got together and turned the chassis’s into a car the B-Engineering Edonis, which is by far the coolest “Bugatti” of all time in my honest opinion 😊
@@traviswalker8933 just cause some think it's ugly doesn't mean it isn't awesome, people said the same about the Gumpert Apollo and that car was incredible
The 90s was a cool era for random sportscars. I remember seeing the British sportscar championship with replica Porsche 935 K3, Lister Storm, Lotus Esprit, Marcos LM600, Mclarens, a De Tomasso Pantera and a few saloons like Escort Cosworths. Great era for racing and odd cars. It was also the end of the Thundersaloon cars - 6litre Vauxhall Carlton, 200mph Vauxhall Calibra and a full on prototype Honda Prelude with 500hp.
I have a Shell model of the EB110 from the 90s - I always thought the headlights looked weird in comparison to the likes of the F40 or Diablo or XJ220 that I also had - at least it went on to be revived as a brand by VW Group...
You should do a video about Tommykaira ZZ series of cars, for those who remember them from Grand turismo. If there is anything interesting to share about it atleast
I started researching the ZZII a while ago and didn't find enough for a full video, but I've been considering a video on the entire brand instead. I need to do some more reading but stay tuned!
Yes! I do remember the Tommykarira double Z series from Gran Turismo 2! For my money, the ZZ two, or three are about the best looking cars designed and built (that I got and raced-way back when on my PlayStation 1, I think. Thank you for reminding me about those car's in the video game. C/O RDRT.
I believe there was also Ferrari making an effort to basically kill at it's birth the rise of such a competitor by telling to all their shared suppliers to cut ties with Bugatti off they want Ferrari to still buy from them. Not sure how much of it is true, but wouldn't be surprised.
Together with Ferrari F40, the Esonis and another one I'm not remembering at the moment, if this car could talk it(she?) could say to have been designed single-handedly by just one person, by the name of Nicola Matarazzi, recently passed away. He blamed Artioli personally for the failure of the brand, aside a fixation with the never sold EB112 I still don't precisely know why. One of his tester, Loris Bicocchi, still to this day gets to tears when this car is mentioned. Personally, I like more the old angular edges design.
The Edonis was the ugliest car of the early 2000s. As far as the failure of the Bugatti brand goes, they launched this car in the middle of a recession where there was no significant demand for high performance sports cars. Even McLaren sold 66 F1 road cars as compared to their estimated production run of 350 cars.
Good ! IT IS ONE OF THE UGHLIST cars' EVER cars' EVER DESIGNED. I AM Personnelly GLAD That BANKRUPTED bugatti !!!!! C/O Roger Dean Ruuska aka Tootkaylok from Alaska.
While I love the Veyron quite a lot, this is undoubtedly my favourite Bugatti! It just looks insane! And with the ideal blend of analogue performance with a bit of luxury and electronics, it's also a damn cool supercar by itself. On one hand, I wish this was more popular, but on the other hand I'm glad that it's not popular, because that means only those who really know their cars know what this is.
"W16 powered monsters that will do 250 mph without flinching, and get you there in uncompromised comfort." That are so expensive that only Arab oil sheiks can afford them, who drive them once, then park them in a warehouse with their other toys, to collect dust and have their pistons rust solid to their cylinders.
3.5 litre V12 was optimised to meet American emission regulations. Adding 4 turbos swamped the sound making it sound like a quad cam Fiat. The car was technically competent but charismatic it wasn't.
the engines in the newer bugatti are not W16 they are split and of angle V16's, A W16 would have 4 pistons on one connector of the Crankshaft. the bugatti's have 2 per connector but the following 2 are offset. but not actually a W engine.
I agree that W16 isn't the most accurate description, it is the one that VW themselves use to describe the engine. It is also more accurate than V16, owing to the fact that V16 would indicate (and is used to describe in other settings) an engine comprised of 2 banks of 8 inline cylinders, as opposed to the 2 banks of 8 stacked cylinders in VW's "W16"
The veyron has two "W8" engines from the Passat stuck together and turbocharged, which in turn are Volkswagen VR layout engines put into V configuration. I think they did had a couple of concepts before the Veyron using a 6.3L W18 engine which was a true W layout engine with 3 banks of 6 cylinders but the engine was too heavy and had less power.
