Reagan's World yeah, I hate how sizes fluctuate so much, I measurement wise, I'm a size six, but in some pants I'm a size 4 or size 10. Then they either got my hips, but not at my waist, or fit my waist and not my thighs. It's a struggle for everyone, not just plus sized women.
I can never find jeans that fit my waist as well as my legs. if it fits my legs, my waist is too small for them, if it fits my waist, then my legs cant fit.
But let's be real - the reason it's hard to find clothes bigger than size 24 or whatever it was is not because big mean companies want to send a message. It's simple business. There is very little demand compared to the ones before it for that size because on average people aren't that size and bigger. You'll also see in a lot of stores that it's hard to find 0 or 00 because again, not a ton of people are that small. Does that mean the company is trying to say you don't exist? No. They just aren't going to make a lot of, or in some cases any of, a size that won't be purchased.
Precious i checked myself, and i’m fit lol! i checked them and they about to die cuz they so overweight. rly need to stop complaining and start working out. so gross
I'm pretty sure the reason why a lot of stores do not carry size 24 and up is because not a lot of people are that big? If those sizes sold well, they would sell them in stores. That's how business works.
Å L yeah people should focus on being healthy, but weight loss shouldn't be the ultimate goal all the time. Also, losing weight takes a lot of time and commitment. A person can't just shrink 5 sizes in a day, nor should they feel the need to.
Ruby Thømpsøn yeah but if you're one of the biggest sizes that you can't ever find anything that fits you then do NOT come for the business. It's a personal issue. Unless you have a medical condition that CAUSED it you have no place to complain. Weight loss takes a looonnggg time and it's nobody's fault for how much you weigh except your parents if you're a child.
Um, this message is nice but... They don’t make sizes so big because they don’t expect people to reach it. It’s not discrimination, it’s just that few people can get to that size. I’m a size 12, been 16, and my body was just about ready to give out. Our bodies weren’t made to hold so much weight.
I don't think it's necessarily a matter of 'letting yourself' get there, but for some of us it's definitely a deciding factor. Sometimes it's just an unhealthy obsession with food, poverty, or lack of family support. The thing about the girl with the condition is that lipoedema is a very rare disease and what that means (as she explained) is that fat concentrates in different places in your body. Not all women with lipoedema have obesity, though, because redistribution of fat is not the same as the creation of it, which means she ate too much and her body decided where to place it. Unfortunately for her, she has few treatment options, the only one which reduces fat being liposuction. Again, I think it's both society and themselves (sometimes, even their genes) who have failed these women. It's important to be a healthy (not beautiful) weight not for others but for yourself.
Choco Gurll relatable... My legs are too long for nearly every jeans cause I'm tall😞 And I don't have real hips and am skinny Really hard to find jeans😑 If a jeans is long enough its usually way to loose. Not every tall woman/girl is overweight... Sorry for bad english, it's not my mother tongue
Trust me, though sure it makes some people happy to loose weight and be a certain size, a lot of the time I feel like I can't talk about body insecurities without someone lashing out at me like, "OMG you can't be insecure because your literally a stack of bones." idk whatever size you are society forces you to degrade yourself or to feel insecure no matter what.. at least that's how it is for me.
Yeah I was like that until I was looking for a pants and the employee asked what size I was. And I just stood there not saying anything cause I didn't know
Try being a size 4, grabbing that, and realizing that the store has basically bumped everything up two sizes, and you can’t find pants because the lowest they go is a size 2 and the petite section was turned into a plus size section
Being morbidly obese is something entirely different than being jus slightly overweight or not stick thin. I feel like when the movement abt body positivity and stuff was for average women.. not morbidly obese but not rlly skinny either. It feels like the morbidly obese people hopped on the wagon and it broke.
Tia Alexandria I have medical conditions that helped me get fat but I don't buy into this whiny b.s. They are making excuses and not taking responsibility for their health. It is not society's fault they suck.

I was jus trying to spread awareness of the fact that morbidly obesity shouldn't be seen as normal or the face of plus size women and also that it's abnormal and strange. I'm not spreading hate honestly jus being logical.
American sizes make me feel so much skinner, because a size 6 sounds so much smaller than 10. All my jeans are too long though since I'm 4'11 but not super skinny so the petite jeans don't fit me.
Zeina Ian I’m 4’10 & a half. I usually have to buy Capri or ankle length so the length isn’t terribly long. Idk what size shoe you wear, but I wear a children’s 4. So shoe shopping is also a struggle. To boot I’m busty!! 🙄😢
2:50 I don't blame the stores for not having all the sizes above 24 when not as many people are that size. So why bother making a bunch of jeans that big when not as many people buy them? And you assume that stores do that to make you feel bad?
I’m tall and petite and have to order my jeans online to get the right size and length because it’s an unusual size. This isn’t just a problem for plus size women. sorry sis 🤷🏼♀️
2:48 “you equate your size to your worth” I wish I didn’t. I really wish I could just love myself the way I am. I hate always wanting to hide my body. That sentence just hit me really hard
wow three fat-shaming comments in a row.. either it's one person pathetically hiding behind three different accounts to try and shame these beautiful women or its *three* pathetic people trying to do the same.. hm🤔
She has Lipidemia, I have Hyperlipidemia. Honestly thats a condition that doesn't only make you gain weight, I wish tht was the only consequence, but no, it most importantly make you get fat in your blood stream which basically kills you. So girl, I dont know about the others, but you shouldnt let yourself get to that high weight. Its dangerous. I know its a fight but your health worth it, more than fitting into some jeans.
Hyperlipedemia is not the same as lipoedema, they just sound the same. Hyperlipidemia is as you know, a blood-lipid/cholesterol problem, while lipoedema is a fat storage/connective tissue defect. As far as I know, lipoedema doesn't affect blood lipid levels. It is similar to edema, as in the connective tissue surrounding the fat cells makes it harder for the body to utilize the fat stored in the fat cells, making it harder to slim down the fat reserves in hips and thighs, giving people(mostly women) an extreme pear shape. In extreme cases they also get problems with the lymph flow giving regular edema in addition.
gem xi u cant gain if ur eating under or just at a kcal intake of 1500 each day.... believe me... their are a lot of things u can eat that makes it hard to even reach that number... think of fruit and veggies♡ white fish♡ pickles♡
When are brands like Victoria Secret stop encouraging anorexia and bulimia, you clearly are a hipocrite. Idk if you know the things thin models have to go through to be accepted too, many are not healthy because of not eating literally anything before the shows.
Well sometimes you gotta accept it Btw not everyone can control their weight and there are many people out there with diabetes and other health issues they cant control So maybe they should just rock what they have
I love how this really highlights how we are expected to have the "perfect" body and how that is the kinda of women that these clothes are designed for
Oldnavy has hands down the best jeans for me like I've never been disappointed with their jeans and they always make me feel confident, comfortable, and cute.
I'm big too but it worries me when morbidly obese people get angry about not finding clothes in a size 24+ or being a "number". No, u can't find clothes cause it's not healthy for humans to be that weight period. Your life is at stake. Don't give up.
Companies don't call God and ask what sizes to make y'all, it doesn't matter what size women "are meant to be" what matters is what size they ARE. And if companies refuse to make clothing that fits women that DO exist, they should fix that.
If you're size 20+ then you represent a tiny group of women that are unhealthy or have health problems. I can't blame a company for leaving people like that out because there simply aren't enough women that big to make a profit on the demographic
Ellie Lancaster it’s not just women, but humans aren’t supposed to be that large. It decreases mobility and causes major health problems. It’s nothing to be proud of.
I feel like a lot of folks here in the comments are missing the point of this video. It's encouraging women of all sizes to be more confident in themselves and their bodies, while pointing out their disparaging lack of clothing options. Glamour isn't trying to say that obesity isn't a problem. People who are fat know that they are at a greater risk for health issues, they're given much unsolicited health advice regularly (and it's often nothing new to them). Just like how some people can eat whatever they want and never gain a pound, others can observe a strict diet and exercise regime and never lose weight. Glamour is only trying to garner the respect that people of ALL shapes and sizes deserve.
The comment makers don't want women to be comfortable in their skins. They want the women to conform to the standards that the fashion and fitness industry have come up with. For whatever reason, they want to fat shame and judge women so they can feel superior to someone else.
I respect people of size, i have friends of size. but, "others can observe a strict diet and exercise regime and never lose weight" that is just an excuse for being overweight..
carl. v it’s not a excuse it’s true some people can try literally anything to lose weight but it just doesn’t happen. You can only understand if you’ve had the problem yourself (not saying that I ever had this problem)
Y’all notice how they give the models name right next to their size but almost everyone is calling them “size 2” “size 10” “size 14” Like bruh they have names.
I don’t even know yeah, because we can remember sizes more easily since here relevent to the video. Arbitrary names just add confusion. It doesn't mean the women are being disrespected.
My mother has PCOS and is extremely obese (Over 220 LBS at 5'5"). She also eats burgers almost every day and doesn't care about eating healthy the same way I do. She was at 140 up until recent years when stopped caring about her weight. Point being, she was overweight but healthy when she still cared. She was obese and not healthy when she didn't. Obesity is a choice 99.9% of the time. Being Overweight is more likely to be caused by medical conditions than being obese is, but you can still drop the weight. It's unfair to say that Obesity isn't a choice, because people have put in effort to stay healthy with medical conditions that make them gain weight.
@@kyrafaith5564 Don't feel being attacked. People carry their weight differently. My mom is Asian and has small bone structure. She's 5'2 and weighed 125 lbs at her chubbiest. You can say that it's a normal weight, and yet she had really noticable double chin, rows and rows of fat around her waist, when I have seen Caucasians with the same weight and height looking a lot thinner than her. Now she only weighs 105 lbs but still looks like she has meat on her bones. Weight really doesn't tell you how a person's body looks.
In Croatia it is nearly the same...in most stores there are the same sizes you mentioned...there are only few stores which have sizes above XL ...That is why I don't even enter certain stores anymore because I know I can't find what I am looking for.
To make women aware that no matter how small or big they are that they are beautiful, worthy, and not just a number on the scale because all sizes can be gorgeous 😋
Laney Walker yes...but they(all these women & their opinions, woes or the ad) "TRULY"isn't saying anything new\effective was hoping for something interesting or innovative.it almost seems a waste of time.
0:44 I'm 5'8 it's really difficult to find jeans that are long enough.... Me:I can relate. I'm 5'11 and I don't have one pair of pants that are long enough. It's the struggle of being tall
Does anyone else have the problem of being too tall where they are too tall for the pants that fit around my waist? any suggestions on pants that help with that problem
I think her dancing was the most “natural” looking some of the other ones were kinda like forced. Which obviously you can tell they told them to dance but you know what I mean.
Chloe lol yeah I had to wear a 4 when I got really sick and lost tons of weight a couple years back, it’s really difficult to find though. I wear a 6/8 now though
I agree! I'm plus size (10-12)*yes that's plus* but I'm trying to get better. I'm not sticking to a number I want to achieve because everyone has a weight that suits them. So I'm am just trying to achieve a healthy state! I use to be size 16😖 i was really unhealthy and was at a horrible weight I'm not saying i was ugly but i wasn't healthy.
Being over weight isn’t healthy in general as you grow older. The thing is that everyone seems to have an opinion on what is a healthy weight and what is not.
Exotic Kitkats Like I said, sometimes it's in peoples genes. I know some obese women and they're the nicest, healthiest people I know. We can't assume everyone who is overweight are also unhealthy. Xx
JessJalepeno fr, I'm sorry I was naturally born with no hips and thin thighs , I guess I'm not real to glamour and buzzfeed , then . I think big hips and thighs are gorgeous but I get so annoyed when people say I'm not a real woman because I don't have them
Bad choice of words, but I know what she means. Its hard when you are petite but curvy/chubby, because most jeans are only made for slim people. But she really could have said that better!
I T S O K A Y no, it’s your own thoughts that let people’s comments (that weren’t even directed to you) make you not content for your body. Plus, they didn’t even say that is the ideal body type. Just it’s a nice body.
@@altheaunetaitsokay6488 No, they are not. You don't get to blame other people for your insecurities. They didn't even say anything about your body. All they said was that someone else had a nice body. If someone simply complimenting another person causes you to be triggered you have issues for days.... How selfish do you have to be to expect other people to not compliment things they like? And then blame them for your insecurities??? Seek help.
Sammy Ariel same here. Shopping was a nightmare before ASOS, now I only shop there. I like that they have clothes to suit everybody, like tall, curve, petite, maternity, men, etc. Nobody gets left out :)
Tagataro Lian, I agree. People all look different, if people expect people to look good just for them, they are too selfish to have eyes. Once they live life blind, they will learn what is important in life.
Hot Lips Don't be stupid, everyone gets old and loses their looks. I'm saying society cares about your size thus people do. Why would I care if you're obese? I'm not dating you. I view it as a sign of health and that's my choice. I don't ridicule others for poor choices.
For everyone complaining about how this is promoting obesity: this isn't glamorising obesity. The video isn't promoting a lifestyle of being overweight or obese, in the same way that it's not promoting a lifestyle of being underweight or anorexic. The video is about jeans, and about women being happy with their body and comfortable with who they are, despite their weight. You can be comfortable and happy with who you are and how you look while also being unhealthily obese or underweight. Just because someone is overweight doesn't mean they are not allowed to be happy and accept their body and love every part of themselves.
I think you can feel happy. I don't feel happy with my body, what is absolutely ridiculous because I'm not even overweight, but loving life and being happy isn't mainly about how you look. You can be happy as a thin or a fat person, the bodyweight just doesn't affect everyone. Some still have fun and enjoy life, even if they are overweight.
Michelle Ross its true though , its true if your happiness doesn't pertain to weight , people can be happy no matter what just like people who are thin can be miserable.
Nicole yes yes yes hollister is the only place i shop for jeans its gotten easier over me to figure out which fit and which dont. if you have skinny ankles just look at styles where the legs get a lot thinner rather than just being the same size straight down. they tend to name their jeans very similarly so it helps to compare how they all look and then pick.
@@Garcim14 too thin for their height isn't the same as obese. You are aware there is a whole category between healthy weight and obesity called overweight? We are talking about the huge ones here. Those girls are in a lot more trouble than girl that are slightly underweight
@@TheWaross Really? So a girl who has anorexia is a lot more healthier than one with obesity? The major problem is that everyone starts freaking out when they see someone overweight not wanting to kill himself because he's fat
@@Garcim14 No, but none of the girl in this video were visibly anorexic. But many of them were morbidly obese. And obesity is a much bigger problem in the US where it is normalized more and more
You do know that there's no absolute standard for women's clothes right? Clothe size actually gets smaller with different companies because size is a thing that is highly marketable and feeding into their insecurities about what size they are is how they actually make a lot of their money. This is why I don't complain when a girl takes like an hour to find their clothes that fit at a store. When they're a size 14 at one store they maybe a 16 at another, so often they waste time denying they've gained weight but actually they haven't. Simply put, fashion stores are very mean to girls and their insecurities. So rather than applying a number in the title, just say skinny, medium, L and XL...
I'm a size 22 and my goal is to get to a 14 soon. (I gained the weight because of bullying, depression and binge eating but, I'm gonna lose weight and feel better emotionally and physically) Wish me luck!!
women are put under pressure if theyre “too big” and women are put under pressure if theyre “too small”. it doesnt make sense and it shouldnt be happening.
TheMelopeus no its perfectly fine to be any size, im saying that society tells women that there’s something wrong with a woman no matter what size she is. i would be the last person to judge someone for their size. and Lily Tran as long as the person is happy, and making the right choices, then they are ok. and sometimes, like one woman in the video, their size isnt their fault.
Haley Sullivan OK but the fact is there is an obesity epidemic in the US and using these feel good exceptions to make the quarter or more of the adult population who are disgustingly overweight feel good isn’t the best plan.
you shouldnt be calling them “disgustingly overweight”. they are not disgusting. and you know whats ruining their mental health? not their weight, but you guys criticizing them. you guys saying its not ok to be bigger than other people. thats whats doing the damage here
I’m only 13 and in sizes 10-12 and this video has inspired me to not care about the size or what people think of me cus all I need to know and think is I love myself and I don’t care what people say ❤️
Marley Glynn girl I was the same size when I was 13, I've maintained the same size all these years. I'm almost 17 and still size 10-12. As long as you maintain your weight, or even lose weight if you choose, then you really have nothing to worry about. I think size 12 is a beautiful size. It's a lot more common than you would think. So don't sweat over your jean size, or any size for that matter
Cescily Pojar and Marley Glynn when I both of ya ages 13 and 17 I was both wear the same size and now I'm 26 years old wear size 18 and have pcos for 2 year and I do agree with both of ya said.

wow three fat-shaming comments in a row.. either it's one person pathetically hiding behind three different accounts to try and shame these beautiful women or its *three* pathetic people trying to do the same.. hm🤔
Interesting how the size 8 and size 14 looks really similar. Everyone is very unique in their fat distribution
Also height differences probably account for that as well.

When are they going to stop singing obesity's glory? Yes beauty is subjective. Health is not.
When are brands like Victoria Secret stop encouraging anorexia and bulimia, you clearly are a hipocrite. Idk if you know the things thin models have to go through to be accepted too, many are not healthy because of not eating literally anything before the shows.
Who are u to say these people arent healthy, those chunky gurls could be healthier then some of the skinniest people out there
When are modelling agencies going to stop starving models?
Well sometimes you gotta accept it
Btw not everyone can control their weight and there are many people out there with diabetes and other health issues they cant control
So maybe they should just rock what they have

The girls who were size 6, size 14, and size 18 were killing the game. But everyone in this video was absolutely glowing.
I love how this really highlights how we are expected to have the "perfect" body and how that is the kinda of women that these clothes are designed for
Oldnavy has hands down the best jeans for me like I've never been disappointed with their jeans and they always make me feel confident, comfortable, and cute.
I really like Calvin Klein. They're the only brand of jeans I wear
I'm big too but it worries me when morbidly obese people get angry about not finding clothes in a size 24+ or being a "number". No, u can't find clothes cause it's not healthy for humans to be that weight period. Your life is at stake. Don't give up.
i agree tbh. they can’t find clothes in that size because y’all weren’t meant to be that big in the first place anyway.
G Cool do you live in the USA? Because I see plenty of women that size where I live. And I live in one of the thinner states.

"you can feel happy in any size" that's the biggest lie i've ever heard!!
Michelle Ross yup it is a big lie..
I’ve been a size 4 to a size 24 and it’s true. You can feel happy in any size if you are happy with who you are as a person.
You can! It's called being delusional

This is because hollister is the only store that keeps sizes the same, and won’t cater to people who are hurting themselves

Simply put, fashion stores are very mean to girls and their insecurities.

women are put under pressure if theyre “too big” and women are put under pressure if theyre “too small”. it doesnt make sense and it shouldnt be happening.
Why it shouldn't happen? Is it not good to be a normal size? It doesn't make sense at all for me.
I mean I think people should be proportionate to their body type and height, being too big or too small in a lot of situations is actually unhealthy

Giiiiirrrl I feel ya! I am a 00.
Enjoy gaining weight
