Guilliman is usually a very calm collective person however when he's mad at you well, may the emperor protect you and hope he can't get his hands on you
The way Guilliman utterly outmaneuvered the high lords is my favorite bit of 40klore. In all of the lore I know, it's the only time where a major character claimed to be super intelligent in the lore actually does something smart. I hope you'll cover it in detail!
Don't scare me like that. I thought they had the balls to betray papa Smurf again.
wait! again? do you mean the heresy or something other?
@@gaia9020 nope, they did it during Indomitus
@@gaia9020 I was just wondering about that myself, oh well to Google it is
They did betray him totally in the next book of this series. It went about as well as one could expect... going against the primarch of fucking empire building and logistics (only second to Dorn with logisitics).
The High Lords are like the execs of Games Workshop, they would dare hurt their cash cow.

Chris Wraight gets a lot of deserved praise for his White Scars HH series, but for me, his Terra series is absolutely brilliant. It, along with Guy Haley's dark imperium series are the fundamental material for current 40k lore.
@@dolamroth8982 I actually completely disagree on that. Abnett's latest book, Saturnine is phenomenal, and ADB is my all time favorite Warhammer author. I really like Master of Mankind. Why don't you?

If Lion El Johnson was the one to come back first a big yikes for these high lords xD. I think he wouldve obliterated them all just for thinking they could rule the imperium. If Lion was already concerned about guilliman ruling the Imperium then i dont want to imagine what he thinks of these high lords xD
Russ would've obliterated them outright. I think the Lion would've yelled before contemplating the idea.
if it had been the Lion, the Wolf or the Eagle who returned first, the outcome would have been brutal.
@@AnikaJarlsdottr Not sure about the War Hawk though hes tough to say what he would do
@@percivalgraves521 yeah, I guess you are right about the The Khan, but I am sure we can both agree that if Russ had been the first one back..... absolute Carnage.
@@AnikaJarlsdottr Right with you there
I've always wondered why they didn't harvest water from other worlds to bring back Terra's ocean and restore it to its old glory.
The Oort cloud would have plenty within the solar system to easily get it done. Although I think they'd just say it was already used up in the distant past.
All the former sea beds are teeming with hives, Terra is the most densely populated hive world in the Imperium.
Because it would take away the ability to inhabit 70% of the surface of the planet, be unusually expensive, not bring any logistical benefit and have no justifiable religious benefit (a temple is a more powerful work of praise to the Emperor than a big pond). Ultimately, it would be an aesthetic extravagance that Terra would not be inclined to indulge.
@@KaiserAfini I would agree if the Imperium didn't have pleasure worlds and hold Holy Terra in near the same light as the Emperor himself.

@@Archon3960 What do you mean?
Part two? WHEN? I want to hear Guilliman addressing the high lords!
Guillimans first thought at the sight of Terra again, 'aw shit, here we go again'.
Guilliman upon seeing Holy Terra: "Shit, I left the kettle on didn't I?"
I almost thought you weren't talking about the Hexarchy. That was a lesson in "don't try politics with a primarch".
Especially if that Primarch is Roboute Guiliman because that is what he specialises in! Politics and administration!!
@@nickpapadopoulos9978 ikr I listen to both books multiple times and I love them both
Nice
You mean Guilliman. Some Primarchs were lunatics; some were extremely vain; some only lived for battle; only Guilliman is a master of statecraft.
Gulliman is not just a Demi god. He's the living loyal son of The Emperor. Only one point removed from The Emperor himself.
Anyone going against Gulliman is as bad as Goge Vandire's heresy.
Gulliman the one Primarch whom was allowed to rule an Empire (Ultramar) within the Imperium in His name.
Its outrageous.
Wasn't Gulliman responsible for spreading the Imperium's mighty bulwark too thin the second founding as well though? Forgive me my ignorance if I am wrong, I learned mostly from TTS.
@@nicholasmorgan7609 It's complicated, what he did is break up the legions making them into smaller chapters to prevent a second "Horus Heresy" type of event by ensuring that no singular force of astartes if corrupted would be strong enough to topple the Imperium. It did more or less work, but it is aldo true that it has made them into an overall less effective fighting force. Changing them from massive front line forces, into what I could best describe as small units of elite special forces. Still devastating if used correctly, but lacking the long term staying power they once had.
because of my initial exposure to the Custodes via Text to Speech, I have a severe problem with Shield Captain "not" being called Kitten.
Not a surprise, they pull the same pathetic tricks in The Beast Arises and thats thousands of years before this
HOW DARE THEY!! my chapter founders were kept alive due to the forgiving nature of Lord Guilliman. To plot to kill the primarch is the highest order of heresy, you can plot all you can in the dark just don't be surprised when you cannot see the reapers scythe ready to claim your life!!
Which chapter?
Which Chapter are you Space marine?
oh i'm talking about my homebrew sorry
I am not surprised by human corruption with power, I am surprised that the High Lords underestimated Roboute. Although, to be fair, Roboute is no Russ or Lion. They, and their Legions, would have stormed the halls of power the moment they stepped down onto Terra. And we know how the Lion is with that socially awkward criticism thing, and Russ with the whole furious judgement thing.

I’m just going to say that I love seeing when Primarchs are wearing helmets. It’s so kickass to me.

isn't it stated in the book with Gulliman after seeing his father he kicked out the High Lords and placed other people in charge?
Guilliman needs a son with a fleet. Should the High Lords betray him, they would not survive long. Its deterrence. Right now there is no one with the loyalty and authority to make this assured
What do you think he fought the Indomitus Crusade with?
I dunno. Pretty sure even the Custodes would follow Gulliman instead of the High lords if it came to civil war.
Dante can easily fill that role.
