- A Denton County judge is set to decide on Wednesday if a mother should regain custody of her 2-year-old son after Child Protective Services removed him while she sought to get a doctor's second opinion. Joslyn Sanders says she has not seen her son, Josiah, in 65 days.

This is what the CPS does daily. Just happy that this mother was able to get the news media to listen to her.
This sounds like the couple whose children were taken when the mom told the nurse that she wanted to wait until her husband arrived at the hospital before giving her baby a shot. They put children in the system who shouldn’t be there, but leave other children to be abused in bad homes.
They do it on purpose. It’s called systemic racism.

I am a Registered Nurse and I can’t believe that the hospital did this! Parents always have the right to get a second opinion and take their child to a different hospital or practitioner! It is very upsetting to me that the child was removed from the parents care and has done no better when kept in the hospital away from the parents and family members and yet they want to continue this! The hospital needs to pay that family a huge settlement because they illegally prevented the parents from taking care of their child!
Damn shame is that CPS is good at keeping children separated from their loving parents while at the same time they’re continually returning children to parents and households that have shown over and over again that there’s a break down and problems with those parents! That mother is no threat to her child! CPS is guilty of interfering where they’re not needed!

This is sad I would lose my mind if the state/CPS ever tried to take my kids. I had a doctor that tried this and it didn’t work, all because I told him the medication they had my son on for his seizures wasn’t working and I wanted a second opinion. He told me he would have CPS take my child if I didn’t corporate. Let’s just say I immediately took my child and got him a different provider and never looked back. God was on my side and I pray that God helps this women to regain custody of her child.

The current state of the U.S. has led me to not have a child in this environment, from education to cps. Imagine the bill she would have had if she had admitted them; she even had a backup plan too. It just discourages people from seeking help

This is exactly why people are reluctant to take their children to the hospital. CPS has permanently traumatized this child by taking him away from a loving family and placing him in the hands of complete strangers.

This is so evil. There is a lawsuit in philly because cps took a child away from the mother. The toddler had a skin condition that they tried to say was abuse. The parents in the foster home killed the child after they kicked her.

@@anniemo3319 you’re so right! It’s so sad. My cousin worked for CPS for awhile and she did a wonderful job, but she received almost no training. The others in the office were completely jaded to their jobs, especially the boss. One time my cousin was in the field with her boss and she needed to remove a child. However, it was the end of the workday so her boss tried to discourage her saying you know we can’t go home until we find placement for him. My cousin didn’t care and removed him anyway. It is pathetic and an overreach of government so many times when removing these kids from good parents. My cousin would also help the parents, grandparents or whomever was in the home with tools to become better parents and guardians to try to keep them together or reunification to happen whenever possible. They get paid next to nothing though, which is another issue, as well as not having enough families fostering.

CSP is awful in every state. The kids who really need the help don’t get it and end up abused or dead. The ones who shouldn’t be in the system get stuck
This is so heartbreaking now a lot of mothers are going to think about taking their kids to the hospital or Dr bc of this! Me as a mother i get scare just to think that what if I need to take my kid to the ER for somethin and something this happen is sad very sad! I hope she get her son back!!
If your child is in danger and requires medical attention, you choose to keep them at risk instead of ensuring their safety by providing the necessary care.

She did not feel comfortable with using the antibiotic prescribed for her child. It's the same antibiotic that a Woman used in a news story I saw a week before, that Woman was given that antibiotic for a UTI, it was too strong for that purpose and now she is disabled.

She may have planned to get a second opinion but she left against medical advice and he was malnourished, abusive and neglectful parents say they were take their children elsewhere and instead take them home. They had reason to be concerned. People holler cps doesn’t do their job but when they do people run to the news and cries. I understand why she’s upset but it sounds like they had her child’s needs in mind.

Plus, two months in their care hasn't resolved those issues either as the report stated. He's still underweight and not gaining.

That’s not why she has help listen to the video she has support her father is involved with helping with this child so that’s not why because this situation has happened before with the white family when a lady took her daughter who was sick the police, the hospital made a false report to the police and to protect the services and then the mother was not even allowed to come and visit her daughter at the hospital. It came to the point where they wouldn’t even allowing her to talk to her daughter over the phone and at times when they did, it had to be supervised and mind you the woman was married. She had a husband her husband can go, but she couldn’t. It came to the point where the mother killed herself so the father filed lawsuit against the hospital and they won over $50 million because they lied and made it seem like the mother was a problem like they’re doing to this young lady here and they even have the documentary or movie on Netflix they had documentation that that little boy was seeking medical attention from their primary position. You have a choice they had all the proof that that child was OK just like they read the letter. It said that that child has a nutritional specialist that they’re under and that’s why he was underweight that should’ve been enough a letter from the doctor. They ignored all of that, and did what they wanted to do mind you if you look at the other news report, they were supposed to get permission from the judge to remove that child from the home. It Hass to be court ordered. It was not court ordered protective services was supposed to notify police and the judge to get court order to remove that child from the home they never did that. They just took the child and put him in a home, with someone else I don’t need that other family members could’ve took that child in temporary he didn’t have to go into foster care and be with a stranger. He also could’ve been placed with his grandfather until further investigation. No, they did what they wanted to do that’s why they’re gonna be in trouble for it.

Why isn’t her child on an NG tube. They had to do this with my daughter she was 2 and a half years old when she spent six mos in the hospital due to aspirating when she swallows going down and infiltrating her airway. Now she’s almost 6 and can eat some soft solids and finally drink in her own. People do not know the complexities with special needs or disabled children. Therefore always assuming the worse in parents when they have gone above and beyond

I could understand if the meds she was denying were bad bad but that’s just and antibiotic and it’s somewhat common and he may have needed it so I’m not a dr but I do know that I probably would not have denied that unless my child was allergic some kids have a medical allergy . When my son was five the dase worker asked if my son knew the difference berween good touch and bad touch he was eaped and brought home by cops months later he is autistic. They said i burned him in the face with a lighter but he has eczema. Tho i took him to the doctor and specialists. Im a teafficking victim myself from a child to ‘88 i ended ip where i am today. They didnt try to save me and now focused kn my kids. My son is turning 20 this year btw.
