I do hundreds of slappys a day and if I saw you do these in person I’d say they’re legit. Anyone can improve but you’re getting on the curb without an Ollie do that makes it legit. When I learned them I did them like you but over time I just got more confident slamming into the curb from a flat footed stance with all four wheels on the ground. It helps me to think of the curb as a quarter pipe which is how lance mountain invented the slappy. You really want to start your carve onto the curb from as low as possible which helps use the face of the curb to get on top of it without lifting.
@@FirelordRob76 thanks for this! Yeah I learnt the ‘rules’ after I had figured my own way to these grinds! I had the same with the Slappy crook which I manage to do properly now. Yeah I also imagine it as a quarter pipe. I think in conclusion there is no wrong way but there is a technically right way to do things in skateboarding. It does feel great doing them ‘properly, I am really feel the difference. The good thing is that Slappy bs 5.0 is quite easy for me😀
@@Ungracefulmovement 😅 I needed to clear this up! I just learnt it the way I could, I didn’t think I was doing it technically incorrect! I had the same issue with the Slappy crook. So I discovered the ‘rules’ after I had figured these grinds out myself meaning I had to re learn them the correct way! Oh well I think it’s all good at the end of the day😀
you are grinding the curb like a badass the way you get on that's the environment if there's a specific way to get on and you don't get to grind as long as you want to it shouldn't matter what the trick is called .honestly you perform it perfect 🔥🔥
@@donut5718 thanks man! Yeah you are right. I think I have concluded that there is no wrong way to do anything in skating however there is a technically right way to do things! It’s all fun at the end of the day
Both ways are proper in my opinion. As long as there's no Ollie, it's a slappy for me!😅 Or it wouldn't be if you were lifting up both trucks from tail and nose. As long as one wheel is bashing the curb it's proper!😊
@@SkateCrisis i just learnt them the way I did, similar to the Slappy crook. Then I realised they were technical incorrect! I never knew the rules before learning them…. Ha it’s all good it’s all fun 😀
in both front and back sloppy most yr pressure is on the back foot, well it should be mostly to front truck, to get that nose dive front truck bash into the slap
of all the slappy tricks i've learned i still can't figure out how to do slappy bs 5050s proper. only landed fs ones twice in the period of 1 year of curb skating.
If honing them to be "right" by whomevers opinion makes you happy then there is nothing wrong with that, however you know me and I say if it looks good and you don't eat shit then it can't be deemed "wrong."
@@AwareWolfOnWheels I’m with you. I discovered I was doing slappy crooks wrong, they were still really fun, I’m glad I learnt the ‘proper’way though. Skating like any other community can be a bit snobby and purist but there is a place for it I think! Wrong? No technically incorrect? Yes 😀
Frontside slappy is legit for sure!

Haha. When you said “it’s wrong” at the beginning I just creased up!! Can’t explain why.😂
