      @@Dcrainmaker Hoping the major changes includes the option to calculate HRV Status, Training Status, Sleep Score, Body Battery, Recovery Time, etc on Garmin Connect, so that you do not have to sacrifice these metrics when switching to a "lower tier" watch like this for non-sport usage.

    Great review as always, thank you! Your review of the Garmin Fēnix 3 many years ago helped me out with that purchase. I've been very happy with it ever since and used it quite fully, but 8+ years later most of the features don't work anymore (GPS, altimeter, temperature, smart notifications, LCD starting to discolour,...) but it still tells time and counts steps so I have a hard time getting rid of it just yet. My sister just got the Vívomove Trend and it wowed me. Hers is the peachy gold colour, and I've got my eye on the mist grey. I was glad to see you are still doing Garmin fitness watch reviews and have such a full review of this model. Thanks again Ray!

    I think this watch would get more people into the system if it just had GPS built in. Not everyone wants a watch which screams sports watch.

    I just found out about the trend, and this watch looks PERFECT. I’ve been looking for a good hybrid watch for ages, but most hybrid watches definitely lack good fitness features. Unfortunately this thing is already almost 2 years old…do we know if/when garmin will update this? Is it still getting firmware updates? I wish they made this in a 44mm option, which looks like the vivomove luxe was, but that’s been discontinued :/

    This watch is $399 CAD for the "womens" colours and $369 for black/gray. Ray, do you know of any reason for the price difference? Seems like all have the stainless steel bezel and silicon bands. Same size, same features. I reached out to garmin twitter but is this just 100% a pink tax for women? This watch is also pretty confusing from a price standpoint. Sure the battery is a bit better, but you can get an apple watch SE for $329 CAD

    SUPERBLY executed. This actually looks literally like a "smart watch" vs mini computermathingy. I was thinking they're might me contrast issues with gold on light gold display, but like you say it looks very visible in daylight so thays good. This is special vs most other, bulky, plasticy Garmin smartwatches with very pixely monochrome displays, I just don't get why they're so expensive, it feels like you're solely paying for the brand. I find them very unappealing and like they're from the 80s-90s.

I’m mainly just interested in a “smart” watch 🧭 to monitor my heart rate❤️‍🩹nightly during sleep (and daily) to alert🚨 /notify me audibly⏰ (not just w/vibrations), with high/low rates inputs. The blood oxygen🩸sensor is a plus of course. Any other option is nifty but doesn’t float my boat. Ques? - Have You Done a Test of These Audible Functions (regarding any Watch you’ve tested)? if so, I’ve yet to see it in any of your vids. If you have, can you direct me to them? Thanks, Dave

    Overall it seems to be a pretty complete hybrid health and fitness tracker with some bonus smart watch convenience features. The one thing I would have liked to have seen with this watch is at least the optical sensor that comes on the Venu 2. It just seems like one heck of a corner to cut for a new watch that is being released when the version 4 sensor is pretty prevalent and the version 5 is starting to get rolled out on new Garmin watches. The Venu 2 is also over 2 years old now and can be bought for less than this new Vivomove Trend.

    According to the specs, the Vivomove Trend _does_ support TrueUp but _not_ Physio TrueUp. In other words: Yet again, Garmin has chosen to NOT support a real dual-watch use case! I can't figure out why Physio TrueUp is not a primary feature of all new watches (since 2019). Like Garmin tries to prevent us from buying a second watch (second to a high-end watch like Fenix, Epix etc.). It doesn't make sense. Any idea why yet another new watch doesn't support Physio TrueUp, Mr. Rainmaker? It's frustrating!

    • @Dcrainmaker
      @Dcrainmaker  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s messy. It doesn’t support true Physio True-Up because Physio True-Up itself is syncing of training load metrics. Thus, it doesn’t itself generate those. But, it will send them to a watch that does.

    • @BrianSoegaard
      @BrianSoegaard ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Dcrainmaker Oh, interesting. If I'm using a Vivomove Trend as a primary device (everyday use) and a Fenix 7 during training, does this mean that I will be able to see an updated e.g. Training Readiness status on my Garmin Connect app?

    • @Dcrainmaker
      @Dcrainmaker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BrianSoegaard The Vivomove Trend will contribute the sleep data, and other aspects, which Training Readiness can pickup. Garmin has re-architected much of the Physio True-Up bits in the background over the past few months, and the final pieces are literally being slotted in place currently - so some things are a bit fuzzy. I'm working on a post to detail it all, but this specific example you stated should work correctly. The one main gap is Body Battery is still not synced across devices.
