Great release by Omega. I love legibility on my watches and this has it in spades. I'm also glad they chose the sapphire sandwich model to introduce this as I enjoy seeing the movement and having the applied Omega logo on the dial.
I was fortunate enough my amazing wife was able to find one for me. It's a beautiful watch that wears so well on the wrist. I have a 7 inch wrist size with 3 links removed and its so comfortable to wear. That white dial though is something else. I can honestly say it is a beautiful watch and Omega got this one just right 👍
In my opinion, the white speedmaster crushes the white Daytona. The omega looks better. The white dial is more striking. Black is used to enhance legibility on the Omega but appears to have been used only to be used on the Rolex. Three black circles make the Daytona look worse not better. The use of red looks better on the Omega. The red block letters are off-putting on the Rolex. The Rolex is twice as expensive! There are times when the comparison between a Rolex and a far less expensive watch can be justified by the fact that the Rolex is more iconic. Not here. The "moon watch" history probably gives Omega the edge in the icon department. The Rolex is self-winding while the Omega is manual. That can be a huge issue for some. For collectors and watch geeks, however, both "self winding" and "manual" watches need to be wound when they are picked for wrist time.
both are beautiful watches. I give the edge to the Daytona. If I could get the Daytona at MSRP I would but that isn't going to happen so looks like I will be getting the Speedmaster.
Omega hit a home run with this release. Other than the lume not being quite as good as the black dial, it's near perfect. However, my buddy pointed out that's not why anyone buys the Speedy and he's right. As long as it's got lume, I'm good. I've tried this white dial on at my preferred AD. It is absolutely gorgeous in person. I definitely have it on my eventual want list, but the TAG Heuer Skipper and hopefully a blue Pelagos 39 (come on, Tudor) would have be ahead of it.
I have about 40 watches. 6 weeks ago I bought this at my local OB. Only watch i have worn since I acquired it. Kinda sad for all my other watches but it rules.
I'm quite torn between the two. On one hand I really love the classic look of the black dial, it's a true icon. On the other I like the white one, I think it's the black bezel that doesn't quite sit 100% with me, not sure. But I think the classic black dial is the one I'm going for.
My Speedies are 1960s ones, for they bring back my 1960s childhood memories. My scratched 321 from 1967 is my absolute grail. A 2024 won't do. But the new white one looks very nice, but it won't be for me.
Question, why did you say that the speedy is more wearable? The Daytona is smaller on the wrist and not as thick. Were you focusing on scratches? If so, that makes sense
I should have been clearer there - the Daytona is the more comfortable watch, but the Speedmaster is more wearable in the sense that there's less pomp and circumstance involved. You put it on and just wear it. To be fair, that's how I'd suggest approaching the Daytona as well, but it's a bit tricker at this moment in time.
Walked into my ad a few months ago. Got a call in three days. Love the white dial. It pops in the sun like no other

Love the outdoors and love the sound quality!

Great video man!

Great video! I’m really hopping to get one of these for my wedding at the end of September. It’s seeming pretty unlikely at this point

Impressive how the omega white speedy holds its own against the Daytona.
I'd seriously be keen to get this. I'm content to wait, though. Wait lists for one is stupid long. It'll die down and be more available later.
Just got my white dial, I could not be happier! p.s. hurts seeing the watch placed on cement.
Why are you laying any of the three on cement it looks like!?
Is there a rarity of it in the States? In Germany you can pick it up all day at any AD.
Yeah, it’s hard to find.
Nice video, but it freaks me out to see these beautiful watches on the sidewalk... 😬

Puhh ... it's really difficult to decide between the white Speedmaster and the white Chronomaster Sport.
I love the new Speedmaster in white and think it looks better then the panda Daytona...
Lovely watch. Would have been lovelier with black subdials, imho.
I love my lume. 😢
