Sheikh Zayed road is the main thoroughfare road in Dubai. It is constantly growing, in recent times the extension of the canal through to the sea at Jumeriah presented great challenges and opportunities.
The bridge over the canal is quite ordinary looking, what sets it apart is that the road that the cars go over also forms the peak of a waterfall that cascades onto the canal below. Clever lighting makes the waterfall even more impressive, however the real showstopper is that the waterfall parts like the opening of a curtain to allow boats to go through.
