What I like about Slot is that he's starting closing the wide open back door that we had for a couple of seasons. Gravenbirch has been a revelation too. If we can get another number 6 in to let Mcallister play further up the pitch we'll be flying. That first 25 minutes against Bologna was a sign of where we are going.
That’s exactly what we need mate. That number 6 signing would put us on the level of Man City/Arsenal. Would allow for more midfield rotation as well
Agreed. After Trent’s cmt thot Slot is focusing on his defensive skills I’m convinced he’s our game changer. TAA is still young, now he can focus on his position to solidify his place in history.
What another number 6? Gravenberch has been playing and getting MOTM display not only in EPL but Champs League. Besides we got Endo as backup.
We need a proper striker in case Jota is injured. Nunez is lacking confidence right now.

You are on the tip of the spear, @stuarthartley. A number 6 puts Mac in attack mode but can also help clean things up further up the pitch. I think we sign one in January.....in the end it will be good we did not rush signings before the staff and Slot saw what he could do with the squad. If we had rushed to sign we would probably not have seen Grav turn into this player.

When I listen to Slot talk, I brew with plenty confidence.

The only team on paper liverpool have faced who is 1 of the top 8 teams was utd away. However considering how badly utd have performed against other teams it dosen't really count. I know Slot's teams are usually at their best in open matches with strong opposition. His teams struggle more (like many possession based teams) against very defensive teams that are happy with counter attacking and drawing.

What a nonsense. Last game I heard “fans” like you saying the same thing. While we absolutely dominated the game for 70 minutes. But no “fans” only remember 20 minutes. We played absolutely brilliant that first half and so many other games.

But maybe playing more solid and give away less space and don’t run forward like crazy every time is a bad performance in ur Eyes. That’s possible.
What they arent factoring in, is historically Liverpool play better against better teams when there is more space, teams who try and play football and attack are easier games than say forest, who sat back 10 behind the ball and defended well, waited for those 1 or 2 chances on the break. The so called better teams in this list of fixtures wont sit back like that

Slots style seems to suit away games and anfield is anfield plus we seem to be suffering less injuries. I think slots style of play is more sustainable and maybe we can go the distance.

I reckon the International breaks hurt Liverpool a lot, because they have a new Coach and are trying to be taught some new tactics and a new style of play, but they can't get any momentum or consistency because the constant International breaks and when they come back, they look out of sync and got to start over again.

There just seems to be more tactics with Slot and for the players to do them properly, they need more games together and these breaks would really interrupt it.

So, basically, everyone is saying that the FSG Slot Machine style is better suited to winning than the FSG Klopp Machine style.
You guys dont know what you are talking. This Liverpool side is ready to take on the best in England or in Europe. Klopp had already rebuilt the team before he left. That is why Arne or the Liverpool board decided there isnt going to be a new signing at the close of the summer window. Its strong enough even to challenge City and Arsenal but Arne may just add a player or two in the winter window to further strengthen his team.

A "leaky defence" is one that concedes chances and don't have a world class keeper, therefore leak goals. If the keeper is world-class, that Stevie ma boy.... means they ARE that watertight.
People don't seem to understand this. Every team concedes chances. The ones with the least goals conceded however, are the ones with a top class final defender being the keeper. Simple common sense really.

it's pretty obvious what the main difference is to me. under Klopp last season even when they won games against teams at the bottom of the table. they always gave up many great scoring opportunities being very vulnerable on the counter attack every single match. Slot has already had more than a few games where they literally have not given up any great scoring chances the entire match. I never seen this from a Klopp Liverpool team last season in the EPL and I have watched ever Liverpool match. they control the match now and also at the same time save their energy while wearing the other team out more by making them run more instead of them running more under klopp. this is a huge difference and it's pretty easy to see the differences. if you're going to score against Liverpool now. it's most likely not going to by an easy given up counter attack chance like under Klopp. Slot teams are not giving away any freebies anymore on the counter. I'm sure Liverpool fans now think it's nice watching their team not give up the first goal every time and playing from behind making great comebacks. this is what klopp was great at.. always coming back. we don't know how good SLot is yet at that because his teams don't really give up that first goal always yet.
like most managers that gone to new team, when the opposition still unsure on how to fight you, but once they figure out they will start losing steam .. look at Spurs and many others.. Ranking the reasons why ? Because they've won all but one game that's why ! Also because the players are a lot better than y,all gave them credit for and just as professional as any other team of players and could easily cope with a change of manager and foremost because Jurgen Klopp left a squad ready to take the next step and the club and FSG were shrewd enough to pick the right manager to follow . Slot could be to Klopp what Paisley was to Shanks . Changed the team from all out emotional risky football to a safer possession based less risky but still effective team. YNWA
🤔Slot may have changed the system to be more possessive in order to make it less riskier for the players to try and keep them healthier and less injured resulting in it being more “effective” but for me honestly it’s made them so boring and ineffective (I know I’m in the minority on this and I’m going to get a lot of hate.
But it’s just how I feel and see it) Mac Allister, doesn’t score or assist enough, Salah is supposed to be their goal scorer and isn’t and when he does it’s here and there Szoboszlai is too quiet most of the time. Jota and Diaz are the only ones doing stuff and even then it’s not to the usual rate that we’re used to seeing them in particular for Jota.

We haven't played any top 10 teams besides Forest who beat us. Slot can't believe his luck, easiest fixtures he could have hoped for, and Chelsea have defenders suspended for the next game. Teams need to see how Nuno got the better of him and we'll see whether he has a plan B.
Tbh Liverpool's main problem is low block not the big teams
Liverpool played man united away. Ac milan away. in the pre season they won from man united and arsenal. + the current results. this is saying a lot too. In England you can lose points in every match.
The problem with us has always been smaller teams. Random losses and dropped points when we're supposed to win. If we're consistently winning the games we're supposed to win I'm not worried. These players always perform in big games.
@@shepardice3775 That wasn't the case more recently, we couldn't beat the bigger teams last season. No wins against MC, Arsenal or MU. We lost twice in seven years at Anfield under Klopp with a crowd. Slot has lost one already and that was to a so called smaller team.
He has had plan Bs in every game apart from forest so far. Always spots weaknesses and our own weaknesses quickly and makes changes accordingly. I can see us getting 7- 8 wins from 10. I think we will get better going forward and at the back. He is a perfectionist more so than klopp

I’ve heard countless Liverpool fans bark about Klopp being better than Pep, and I’m not sure what sport they’re watching. Pep knows how to adapt, Klopp doesn’t; that’s why Pep has won 6 league titles and Klopp has won 0.7

Klopp's style got him 90+ points in 3 seasons and is the reason why city don't have 7 consecutive titles. And he didn't lose the finals because of his style. Any team with an idiot keeper like karius would have lost that game. They also limited Madrid to only one chance in the 2022 final. So the style was perfect.

Stevie is right LFC needs to go up another gear to stand any chance of winning the UCL or EPL. For me, LFC are just not killing off teams when they are on top. Both the Wolves and Palace games could have been draws when LFC should have been home and dry. Unless this team learns this lesson we won't win anything this season. The Palace game is a perfect example: Jota should have had a hattrick but the last 20 minutes were a basketball game when the match should have been dead and buried.
Arsenal and City could have had a couple of drawers, too. Fans needs to stop judging Liverpool differently.
