How to shuck oysters at home

  • Don't be intimidated at the thought of shucking your own oysters! It's not difficult at all, and way cheaper than eating them in restaurants. Get an oyster shucking knife and go to it! The oysters I used in this video were Malpeques.

    I bought my oyster shucking knives there as well as the jar of minced horseradish.
    Also, in case anyone's wondering, the platter is Wedgwood Queensware.

    Dumb question do you loosen the oyster from the bottom is you plan on grilling them?
