FAIRBURN Has a huge range when kicking both kicking punts and shots at goal , if he was playing now in the modern era , he surely would leave most kickers eating mound dirt .
I was at this game. Remember it like it was yesterday. There was a full fist fight between Nash and Raudonikis which isn’t on this highlights reel. Both players sent off.
Imagine working hard and getting selected to play for your country. You take your first hit up of a massive test series between two nations and the commentators are heard all across the commonwealth of nations. "The prematurely bald, Thompson" 😂😂😂
About ten minutes of the 22 minutes of “highlights” are people lining up and taking kicks at goal. Shows what a sensible move it was to make it 4 for a try. Of course, Union still hasn’t learned and you get multiple kicks for minor offences from 40-50 metres out taking a good 90 seconds plus each time. Completely mindless. But the northern hemisphere seems to like watching kicks. Saves doing anything creative. Not that Australia and NZ RU been smart enough to realise it’s a real loser when people compare the spectacle to league.
The first 5 mins shows why George Fairbairn should never have been anywhere near the fullback Jersey. Keith Mumby would have been a much safer option at fullback.....
Crikey first test match I ever attended...many thanks
RIP Rex Mossop (1928-2011).

rex was a fair commentator wanted both teams treated equally!
Swinging arms, low key upper cuts, standing knees to the ribs, it like a controled ufc match out there
Miss this real gladiator stuff

Look up the film "The final winter" which Tommy had a role in as a committee man and see what he says about being sent off
Highlights reel ,you mean place kicks reel,
@@brucethomas5123Gee don't watch Rugby Union then.
Tommy Raudonikis, sadly died in 2021> think I was at this game too. Live in Oz now. It's grim up North. Wasn't Central Park a toilet!
Is the referee, Hugh Laurie??!! 🙂
SO remember setting the alarm to watch this.

Purely baldesum I’ve suffered this stigma all my life! Discrimination against baldness is the lowest

Good observation, I flicked through the mind numbing shots for goal.
Its not England it is Great Britain, commentators keep referring to the team in white as England.
Pommy b……ds will do
Great to see
That Aussie side would be considered strong in any era.
Imagine if Cronin used today's kicking tees?
Imagine if he actually used the more accurate around the corner style rather than toe bash
@@cannon1156 The balls were leather, not anything like the synthetic thing they use today.

He should also have one of those sand thingys they hang on golf carts to fix his divots...
Too many penalties
A few towns in England play the game.
