    You know what's amazing?? That as one day after this was posted, only 316 people have viewed it, and only two people (including myself) have commented on it (and neither comment was particularly insightful/intelligent/thought-provoking)....
    Considering the (to me) amazing technological achievement that Watson represents, I would have thought that many more people would have wanted to learn about his creation and would have been stimulated to comment. Oh well, human wrong, once again....

    Many of the leading figures responsible for Watson are from RPI, not MIT, so much so that RPI is the first school to get access to Watson. And still not a single RPI professor is consulted for this documentary?

    The key to creating a real intelligence is to create something which has the ability to learn from experience, the ability to fantasize (creative idea thinking) and the ability to use both to reprogram and modify itself.

    This is really amazing, and I believe it to be the first step in a new direction of AI. I can only dream of working on a project with such an impact on the advancement of technology.

    Humanity does build intelligent machines, after that they will rebel against their masters.

    People think computers will try to take over the world when they become self-aware.

    It's the idea that one day we will make a computer that is smarter than we ever thought. It will become 'self-aware' and follow it's own directive..... AKA CYLONS ARE COMING!!

    "a piece of hardware"--"take over"--"computer overlords". We are too obsessed about our superiority and domination and submission. We are too much stuck on the concept of soul as opposed to hardware, even though there is evidence that we cant think or understand after strokes(i.e the brain being the source than the medium). Maybe building ai will cure our perversions and make us more appreciative of conscience as an emergent phenomenon and of ourselves.

    • @kylehill3643
      @kylehill3643 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      And guess what? Your 8 GB of Ram PC is just an 8 track tape player now The internet is largely ran by Watson (and others) giving you results most people search for not what you searched for. Therefore the majority of phone people will be what Watson thinks is reality as that's all he see's.
