CNA is way worse because you got to clean human feces off of a person flipped them over if they are disabled fully washed down their body and some of these people don't even like to be washed on a day-to-day basis. I took up the class but I felt it was just too much for me for the little pay that they get wasn't worth it for me. I think if you've had time to work with someone that is older that might be handicapped it might be a little easier but CNA definitely wasn't for me but I'm glad that I took it up to have an idea 🤦🏻♀️😲🧖🏻♀️ I think aesthetics is way better cuz you get to choose what parts you will do and what parts you want I draw the line with doing waxing of someone's personal Brazilian. 👎🏼🤧🧼😷🤬
My esthetics instructor kept it 100% real with us. She told us everything you're mentioning here. Glad there are people being real out there so people can be aware before jumping into this field.
I’m a nurse, so I’ve seen a lot, including having to give personal hygiene care to someone on their period ‼️ But I am BLOWN AWAY that women come in for waxing during that time‼️ Is it really that serious⁉️⁉️😳😳
I wouldnt even take a client if she is on her period…. She will have to reschedule. This is why one reason i wont do Brazilians once im licensed, even though it’s GOOD money

I’ve had some Brazilian LHR clients who’ve have come in just like you said, literally every scenario you said, and one time a girl told me she just did the dirty with her bf!! 😀😀 BTW, when you said as soon as ppl find out you’re an esthetician (outside of work), it’s just game over!! I’m a medical esthetician too, so sometimes ppl ask me for a diagnosis and I’m like... can you please go see the derm and then come see me, at my PLACE OF WORK? I’m in esthetician school now and the students we practice on have the same issue with dirty face, I’ll be doing a facial and their skin is just dirty. Dirt on the esthetic wipes. Especially back facials!!

Thank you for addressing the potential for uncomfortable male clients…that is honestly my one hesitation as I am strongly considering entering this profession! Even with facials I could see similar situations occurring (and don’t get me wrong! I know 90% of guys would probably be fine and respectful - it’s just not a situation I’m comfortable putting myself in…). I have met estheticians and how they will kiss ass or take risk just for money. I will be honest and I wouldn't take a client if I don't feel comfortable. I got promoted as manager and I always put myself and my staff first. I have told them if their is a guy making you feel uncomfortable to let me know and I will kick them out! I enjoyed your video. I am a male that has been waxed and the inappropriate behavior of some men really cause trouble for the rest of us. I have finally found a place near me that will wax but I use to have to travel 200 miles and it just didn’t work! I just wanted to say that you are so right - it has to stop! thank you
i feel that if i had a situation where i saw feces or blood, i would provide baby wipes too. so that they could do what they need to do BEFORE i start the service. & if they still have the problem, i would give them another chance to wipe it before stopping the service. if someone genuinely doesn’t know how to deal with personal hygiene, it’s not worth me getting sick or dealing with that bacteria.
I just finished with my schooling for my Esthetics course last year. I only did the course so I could get into the field of makeup and more specifically Special FX makeup artistry, the last thing I wanna do is like get all in someone’s “personal space” like that. I’ll wax arm pits, lips, brows, arms, tummy, legs, feet and back. That’s it. I do plan on getting some more schooling in at my dream school but the Covid situation kind of stopped that process for me.

I have vitiligo, All my life I've shut down the things I want to do because the fact I will get criticism or not connect or make friends because I'm different. All I ever care about in life is fitness, skincare and always wanted to get into esthetician because I love skin 🙃 but... I feel I couldn't lift my head up high and do it..

I would say don’t be afraid. 98% of the time nothing is nasty. And honestly there are plenty of esthetician’s that don’t do extractions. Also if you see something that you’re not confortable with you can decline the service
The last part happens far too often - from the beauty industry to corporate - and it's annoying. I am not an estitician, but certified in natural hair care with a specialty in locs. Majority of the males who claimed to be seeking my services were simply trying to hit on me. There were two that made me so uncomfortable that I ceased new clients all together until I establish a new location. Thank you for sharing. Wishing you continued success!

lol well i just work around them, my school wasn't strict when it came to nails so i never worked without them. I'm just super cautious not to scratch anyone and keep under my nails clean but I haven't had any complaints. I also do all my facials with gloves so its an extra barrier

Can’t you just make it your policy to shower prior to appointments?? Coming into appointments with a clean bare face I think would be a bare minimum requirement if they are seeking service lol can’t you just refuse service if they don’t meet your policy guidelines??

It’s definitely case by case and school by school. Anticipate not being allowed to have any nails or polish, my school doesn’t allow it at all, but some spas will let you within certain guidelines. Due to COVID we wear gloves for all facials, but dirt and diseases can definitely be trapped under your nails if you perform a facial without gloves and with nails.
You must tell them they must Shower or bathe before they come in office to get services it company policy having in the contact they sign for services. You should . You have it in contact no service while on Ministration pleaseSchedule three days after their monthly periods and week before . Bath before coming in for service this keep your Client safe have a clean environment.
I've heard too many stories on lashmites in dirty extensions...I know we can get lash mites without extensions but get up in them dirty lashes with one of them microscopes and BAYYYBBBYYYYY whew.
Clean my kids ears all the time but there wax or whatever is like overactive or something, I don't know if it's an allergy thing or not they both have a long list of allergies and have sinus issues and asthma and usually if it's an allergy asthma thing it involves mucus so that's why I wonder if ear wax is like that kind of. I can clean my kids ears multiple times a week and it's like they were never cleaned at all it's crazy.
Some high schools offer programs where you can take classes through your local college (or trade school) before you graduate - make sure to ask your school counselor for info! 💕☺️

is there any studying or research you did before hand to teach yourself about being an esthetician or the skin and different products if not could you give tips on what new estheticians will be learning etc. I live in the Tampa area as well and I’m planning on going into esthetician school, skin care really interest me and I’ve had my own skin care business but now I want to go into the program but I feel like I know absolutely nothing lol

No but not all esthetician’s work for companies many work on their own, rent studio space or work from home
Can’t you just make it your policy to shower prior to appointments?? Coming into appointments with a clean bare face I think would be a bare minimum requirement if they are seeking service lol can’t you just refuse service if they don’t meet your policy guidelines??

It’s definitely case by case and school by school. Anticipate not being allowed to have any nails or polish, my school doesn’t allow it at all, but some spas will let you within certain guidelines. Due to COVID we wear gloves for all facials, but dirt and diseases can definitely be trapped under your nails if you perform a facial without gloves and with nails.
You must tell them they must Shower or bathe before they come in office to get services it company policy having in the contact they sign for services. You should . You have it in contact no service while on Ministration pleaseSchedule three days after their monthly periods and week before . Bath before coming in for service this keep your Client safe have a clean environment.

What cleanser do you give your client for cleaning lashes?
I've heard too many stories on lashmites in dirty extensions...I know we can get lash mites without extensions but get up in them dirty lashes with one of them microscopes and BAYYYBBBYYYYY whew.
Clean my kids ears all the time but there wax or whatever is like overactive or something, I don't know if it's an allergy thing or not they both have a long list of allergies and have sinus issues and asthma and usually if it's an allergy asthma thing it involves mucus so that's why I wonder if ear wax is like that kind of. I can clean my kids ears multiple times a week and it's like they were never cleaned at all it's crazy.

Most artists charge a deposit fee before you can reserve your spot. You charge the fee to the card that the customer deposited with.
