- We visit with the Young family on November 14 and listen in on Nico's conversation with his brothers Lex and Leo coming into the all-important cross country post-season for all of them. They talk about family support, meet day mentality, and Nico's observations from college on Lex and Leo's achievements. Join in the family facetime!
Yes, that is homemade pizza in the background -- and it was delicious! (Brizz)
It’s actually insane how all 3 brothers are just goated at running
What they're All Brothers??? They got that running gene in their genes!!! Naturals👌👌👌
Newbery park has insane cross country preparation.
@Espy I'd argue talent has next to nothing to do with it tbh
maybe like if u have a good build e.g 5ft5 seems to be good for 10K but apart from that...
@Espy I know. But some ppl don't use their gifts and put it to waste. Also, I was one. Not Natural w genes but determination, grit, lots of hard work, and mental toughness. I was Both in XC & Track. One season I was out for a month and had to come back and Train by myself and peers were impressed I was running faster than them.
The USA's own version of the Ingebrigtsen brothers! It will be fun watching how they progress through the ranks and to see how far they can go.
This family seem a lot happier than Ingerbrigstens,... well how they come accross,.. they really seem to embrace the joy of running notwithstanding all the hard graft put in during training and racing
@@jensmith3719 The dedication needed for olympic glory isn't always a joy
@@jensmith3719 these guys were good child hood friends of mine, whole family are great people. was really lucky to have them as friends. Glad to see they’re thriving still
These guys remind me so much of the McChesney brothers (Tom, Steve, and Bill Jr.) They were legends at South Eugene High School in Oregon back in the mid-70s. Bill Jr went on to star at Oregon and later became an Olympian in 1980. I was fortunate to get to know them and compete against them even though they kicked my butt all the time in both Cross Country and Track. They were always very humble and down-to-earth guys. These Young brothers are miles ahead of the McChesneys at their ages. I hope they remain true to themselves and keep growing both on and off the track. It's really very hard to find role models these days but I'd say Nico is one that can truly be an inspiration for today's youth. I was fortunate enough to meet Jim Ryan in Jr High School. He inspired and encouraged me to believe in myself and my abilities. I wound up running a personal best 4:04 mile in college. I hope these guys can do the same for the next generation someday.
Agreed on the McChesney's, great family. Bill's 29:06 10,000m as a HS Jr is still pretty mind-boggling (along with his 29:27 as a 10th grader). Those 10K times from 1976 (Chapa, Hulst and McChesney) haven't been challenged. I doubt many kids put in those 100m weeks these days.
Hulst was an absolute animal, it's a shame his life ended so young
Maximus Mercury Young-Trio - here is a story of three brothers whose feet had wings. As they floated in the cross country races they established unique records. On the same day - Elder Nico helped his university to grab the NCAA X-Cross championship while twins helped Newbury Park to capture the 2021 XC-CIF in perfect team score and best times. This record will stand for eons because two sets of brothers -Youngs and Sahlmans crossed the finish all within 0.2 seconds of each other !!!!!!...WOW amazing and impressive...What wonderful speedsters these brothers have the tenacity, diligence, commitment, passion to push themselves beyond the limits and more....Pacing and practice practice practice make PERFECT times and scores...Congrats to all the brothers and team-mates for fabulous race.
wow it's crazy how they are all so good at running! awesome
Wow!! As a former D1 collegiate runner (now 45) this video was fantastic!! What wonderful and super talented set of brothers. God bless and best of luck in your futures!! I wish you the best of health and happy running. I will be following all of your careers!!

@@Sam-vx6rp everyone has different humor :/
This was not corny at all lmaoo- people who don’t interact with their family or share a passion for running wouldn’t understand
“Leo & I” 😅😅
Leo ur such a card 🃏
Do families move to this area just so their kids can run for Newberry Park?
no, thats the crazy part about it. this is literally just a genetic lottery bunch of random kids
The real goat parker simmons at 0:39
Nice vid!!
Will there be a state meet video
Probably not from hdrunners as they weren’t invited to cover the event
That pizza is going cold 🍕 👀
Awesome content 🙌😎
Nice house
I don’t mean to be a hater cause these guys are extremely talented, but this video was so corny that my arteries clogged and I’m now going into cringe induced cardiac arrest.
Ain’t lex young kind of fine tho…
Not gonna lie I think the person that made this video needs to think about boundaries
Why would they need boundaries. Boundaries are a way of separating or restricting you or other people to be around you
"that's a good answer" ... nobody asked for your evaluation of his answer lol
Bro what
Nobody asked for your comment lol
🧂
none of these comments were asked for, join the club!
@@triathlontimmy actually they were because by commenting you’re putting out your opinion and opening it up to replies, so you are indirectly asking for it
