    Great video! As a Nuggets fan I've been a huge fan of his work on the court but his attitude and perspective off the court is even better. He definitely plays up the "it's just a job" vibe for the media because he does love it, but I feel him being the best player in the world at the same time really gets other players and the public to acknowledge that he's right. Every night the first things he does as the game finishes is untie his wedding ring from his shoe and then waves and does a little signal from a children's book to his daughter. The proof is in the pudding.
    Also, I doubt you have a monitor above you to the side but for some reason I really enjoyed you "watching" the video with us.

      That is so cool! I didn't know that about his wedding ring and the signal to his daughter. Thanks for sharing. He seems like such an authentic guy. I hope he is able to remain humble and have a positive influence on his team, the league, and beyond.

    Religious discussion at the end aside as I do not follow those branches of faith, I do find this discussion and your commentary on it very important and insightful. The intrinsic value of self-fulfillment and what memories and positivity you leave behind during your passing stages is something we All should remember and strive for. This is a terrifically laid out message and I put this video in my personal "Inspiration" playlist of videos.

    Jokic also said another point during this podcast, essentially thT being good in basketball by itself is not important but making people happy is. I think he has given a lot of money to help people in Sombor like to the hospital.

    Can we stop it with the whole "Jokic doesn't care about his job" nonsense? He doesn't like the media part of his job, and people keep mistaking it for a disinterest in the whole package.

      There is no philosophy here. He simply has a normal attitude towards life, which we should all have. Today, being normal has become an unprecedented miracle. The value systems in question are not measured by how much one has in the account, but by what is in one's head and heart.

    • @HustonOliver
      @HustonOliver  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for sharing, I’m sorry you didn’t find what you were looking for. Could you help me understand what you mean by “cult stuff”?
      If you’re referring to my comments about Jesus, perhaps there’s been a misunderstanding. When I shared my personal experience with Jesus, I’m not even referring to religion (let alone a cult). Rather, a relationship with someone who predicted his own death and resurrection and pulled it off.
      Some have sadly tried to turn Jesus into a religion (and maybe others have perverted his movement into cult). But Jesus simply offers a relationship. A relationship that has given me more peace and hope. And I’ve seen it do the same for others.
      If that’s not what you meant, I may have misunderstood. If it is, I hope this helps clear up any confusion. Thanks again!

    Poor dude has more likes than than subs. Should be the other way.
    I don't believe in god. Any God. But who knows 🤷‍♂️ I definitely don't want a religion that claims that accepting a person as Lord and savior will "save" you, regardless of what evil you've committed in life. That's enabling evil in my opinion. ✌⛏🏀🏆

    • @HustonOliver
      @HustonOliver  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey thanks for watching and sharing your feedback! (You’re right on the subs/likes. Still trying to figure it out.)
      I also agree with you on not wanting a religion that enables evil. I actually don’t want any religion! My personal experience with accepting Jesus as Lord and savior is that I am continually moved to hate the wrongs I’ve done and the harm I’ve caused, and I want to stop it. I’m far from perfect, but a relationship with Jesus has put me on a new path of healing and having healthier relationships. I know it can do the same for others.
      But if there is no God, there really is no “good” or “evil”. There’s no standard for good and evil except human consensus. And it doesn’t seem that humans can agree on a standard of morality. If it’s up to humans, it’s “might makes right.” I think most would agree that’s not good.
      Yet Jesus maintained the idea that God will one day hold all people accountable for the wrongs they have done. This is the only hope I see for true justice in life. The problem is that I’ve caused harm to others, so I wouldn’t stand a chance under God’s justice except that Jesus took the blame for all my wrongs.
      In the end I choose to trust someone who predicted his own death and resurrection and pulled it off. He’s really the only hope I have!

I am however, fully impressed with your knowledge of all kinds of interesting information with wich I am less familiar. You're obviously extremely well read in religious texts beyond just the Bible. Anyway I really enjoyed listening to your ideas. Re reading my quip about your subs, I sounded critical, though I hadn't meant to be. I do think your channel deserve more exposure.
