Your only throwing with your arm and that will hurt terribly bad try putting your butt cheak first and then release the ball it will help the 45 be about 65 if u practice it
Thank you for this video my arm has been sore every year for the last 5 years and I even had to sit out one year and hoping this season will be better thanks👌
Thank you so much for this video... I used to get very sore after my baseball games because I was a starter. With these stretches, these really helped my arm increase in velocity and prevented injury. Thank you so much. God bless
Thanks for all your advice Coach J! Sonora High Baseball uses some of these same stretches before working out and playing. They have allowed us to keep our arms in good shape!
@@masonthechamp2074 are these stretches helping your elbow too or just your shoulder? I’ve never had shoulder pain just some pain in my elbow but these stretches seem more fit for warming up your shoulder
The reason elbow pain is because you are flicking the ball when your throwing that means your elbow is in front of your hips to correct it your hips should be in front of your elbow when you are throwing a ball to keep injuries way
Thanks for this video. As I have been transitioning to a 300 foot field, my arm has been killing me. I’ve tried a few of these stretches and it has really helped me .
I'm glad this video has been helpful man. I remember that switch as a younger player. It's tough, but you'll get the hang of it! I'd recommend some of our other videos on bands, rotator cuff exercises, etc.
All my life ive always wanted to be a MLB player. I started playing baseball late, never have played travel ball, never had a private coach. i was always to scared to tell my parents of my dreams, because I was always afraid of what they'd say. When I was beginning my sophomore year and getting into baseball season, I got hit with a concussion. It was a terribly one, missed the entire season. I lost all motivation had no dedication, was going through depression. Than one day I talked with my dad told him about my dreams, he took it well, and told me he'd always support me in whatever I wanted to do. Talked with my best friends about it and he gave me tough love, told me that I need to take is seriously and train everyday. So i'm going to, I will make the MLB, and make my friends and family proud!!
Thank you for this. Honestly very helpful stuff that's helped me realize the importance of warming up and stretching before a hard or long throwing session
I start Coaching my son's team in woodlake, never coached before but I'm saving this video, I gotta get my pitcher and catcher ready, stretches are the first thing I've been looking for, as for the same reason you said to prevent injuries, and for that same reason I want to make sure they are getting the correct coaching advice even though tomorrow would be the first day for me
These are very similar to the stretches my son does before going into pitch in college. My shoulder hurts from swimming and these stretches definitely helped. Thanks!
I'm 40 and I pitch Sunday ball. Always had a rubber arm, but now my arm has been giving me problems. I'm sure age will do that. Gonna implement all of this, and hope it helps. Thanks.
I play men’s league aka beer league and It’s pretty competitive for a men’s league, and I’ve never really took the time to stretch out fully because we show up right at game time and go. I was tired of army pain so just did this routine for a couple sets each.arm feels nice and warm already gonna cut down my need to throw as many as normal
I'm a long time dart thrower who's struggled at times with various arm related soreness from throwing. I've identified specific muscles and tendons and looked at specific videos on stretching that have helped to some degree. Obviously a drat throw is not the same as a baseball but there are enough similarities that make your video incredibly effective (especially some stretches). It's kind of like the itch I can finally scratch. Thank you!
i am here in february 2020 but this video is great, my rotator cuff was burning afterwards but i have a tourney this weekend and a scrimmage tonight so hopefully this helps my soreness and maybe he’ll my velo
Thanks for the tips. I'm pushing 60 years old, my kids are grown and gone so I don't ever get a chance to throw a ball any more. However, l want to get into a senior softball league soon and need to start throwing again without injuring myself. Will these exercises help to me to prevent injuring my long unused throwing muscles?
You can definitely use this warm up.. I'd use J-Bands as well, but this should get your body going! Remember, listen to your body and your arm. If you need MORE, then do more!
I think it best to do at least the band training/stretching before AND after throwing/practice. Book end with that and you should both throw harder and have greater durability.
Hey what would you recommend for someone like me? I haven’t played baseball in over roughly 8 months. I’m 15 years old and I’ve recently gotten back into it and my arm is sore. Also, I really appreciate this video, it was very helpful and I learned some stretchy techniques for the rotator cuffs (which is what I needed.)
i used to be a baseball then softball player but now in my 40s and ive taken up Darts competitively. i still have that drive to be the best but ive had some soreness and minor injuries that have limited my practice. im going to try these warm ups before i play and see how it affects my recovery. i have a question though about cool downs. In track i did a lot of walking to cool down after practice and racing along with stretches to keep from getting shin splints. do you have a cool down video that you would recommend me trying. thanks and great video even though i wont be playing baseball anymore.
I have been unable to work as a blacksmith for the past 1.5 years due to chronic shoulder instability paired with impingement. Since I started doing these drills almost daily all the pain has vanished and I have my life back. Thanks 4 that justin. Also I might add, I'm German. Theres no baseball here.
I'm not a pitcher but I play volleyball and I keep having problems with my shoulder when spiking and serving so I figured pitchers would have some great tips ^^
There are so many things. Your comment was three years ago so probably useless now but if anyone else sees this: Figure out what part of the bicep, where it attaches, or in the middle/muscle part, then find the appropriate stretches/warm up for your biceps specifically and incorporate them... all that time you guys are standing around talking and getting rdy to go warm up etc etc... or evening in the car/bus on the way, start your warmup. It’s like wearing a helmet when riding a bike. You might look a little funny, but you’ll be happy you did it. And it puts you at a lower risk than the person making fun of you for wearing a helmet.
I have a good arm as a dude that can throw from 240ft to home plate without a bounce and throwing 72mph this will help my arm let loose and not get some sort of cramp afterwards
Was 14 or 15 years old in a playoff game, pitched a no hitter, we won. I threw 42 Curves that game, my arm was never the same. I played baseball yesterday for the first time in 10 years, body is fully sore and my arm is just doing the same thing
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong when I’m throwing cause my arm is getting sore around the top of my forearm to the elbow area my shoulder is great but I think either have bad form when I throw or something i don’t know could someone help me 🙏
If it’s elbow I don’t think it’s good, my coach tells me to just stop using your arm and take a break, maybe use ice. I would also throw more often, I have the same problem and I should throw way more. Another thing I have for sure is not warming my arm up enough, now that kills me. And now that I think about it, you might have a weird throwing motion, so you could do a lesson or something for throwing.
You’re welcome, and yesterday I found a good fix, make sure you’re warming up the way you throw in a game. If you pitch from the stretch, then throw every warmup throw with your body turned. I was throwing with both feet pointed to my catcher like I was throwing from the wind-up, and that was destroying my arm. Like this I could do a 150 throw catch, when before I would be lucky if I could have a 70 throw catch.
that’s exactly me too, I got little league arm in 6th grade and if i stretch for too long my arm starts to hurt that’s why i don’t stretch for that long
My shoulder feels like it pops when I throw to hard. It always takes me like 50 throws to start long toss. It takes everyone’s else 20. I have to destroy my arm bc they back up to fast.
this is interesting.....not a ball player, but a surf fishermen ....same motion as a pitcher.....Watching this I'm thinking that you are really working the rotator muscles.....Then you play ball......wouldn't you be over doing it?........seems that way

I just started pitching last week and 0:38 described perfectly my routine 🤣🤣. My shoulder now hurting a little bit, so I will stretch and warmup first

this video is amazing! i started doing this routine before i throw about 3 months ago and have not had any arm soreness since!
i’m doing this before every time i throw not trying to have my elbow hurting anymore

@@masonthechamp2074 are these stretches helping your elbow too or just your shoulder? I’ve never had shoulder pain just some pain in my elbow but these stretches seem more fit for warming up your shoulder
@@bodacious117 yes but there isn’t really a stretch that stretches out your elbow so by doing these it will just overall make your arm feel better
