Jon, I don't know what it is about your content, but no matter how shitty of a day I'm having, you manage to calm me down and bring a smile to my face. I know it might not seem important, but it truly is to me and I just want you to know how much I appreciate what you do. You've literally been a life saver. Good tidings to you and yours, friend.
I'm so glad this is a series! It's a very zen game, in a way; you end up completely absorbed in running your park, and that makes it easy to forget anything else. I'm definitely downloading this; I miss playing it too much to not get it.
I find Jon's channel so relaxing to watch. It kinda feels like when I was a kid and I'd watch my older brother play video games, except Jon is funny and probably wouldn't tease me til I cried or lock me in the basement. Jon! How about Zoo Tycoon? That was the one I used to play endlessly when I was 10-12. Final episode - destroy all the fences and watch the lions and tigers eat people.
As far as I know, Windows 7 is fine with it. Windows 8.0 is also alright, but Windows 8.1 and above hate this old game. The solution, as I posted in the last episode, is OpenRCT2, which fixes all of the compatibility issues and adds in a lot of new features to make this game run even better.
Please let this series last for a VERY long time Jon! I really enjoy watching you play this! I know why you love it too because I've played the first one!
Log flume is the first ride you should ever put in your park. Hands down easiest to build and makes a tonne of money to pay for the rest of the ride building. Before you place paths, you should always match it up to the path squares for your cleaners. They get lost easily and it costs a bit of money having to hire extra because they don't clean up all the debris fast enough.
Jon I love this little series you've started, it was an excellent idea and has rekindled my desire to play Open RCT2. You are an absolute pleasure to watch.
the way new rides leap up in popularity and income while older rides subsequently drop in popularity is a touch of realism i never really noticed in the RCT AI before
Give us more John!!! (Jon? You're my favorite TH-cam channel now. Been watching all of the kill everything, no kill playthroughs of NV. You're awesome.)
The peeps on a boat hire don't jam up if they are going into a station platform block. You can direct them with rails at the beginning, then let them roam free, but don't make them go into rails before the station.
There's a lot less death and customer despair in this play through than what I remember from Roller Coaster tycoon... I wonder what Evil Jon's park would look like
I would love to see a big huge wooden roller coaster like The Beast that spans a few miles maybe around the entire park. Its got an underground section, lots of very fast straight ways, a really deep first drop and a 65mph spiral drop. It was really fun, wouldn't mind seeing something like that in this park.
How do people respond to speed in this game? Because realistically, 40-50 mph isn't much. Maybe for queasier subjects, but for the average person that goes to a theme park? I don't think so.
+Proffessor Hiro It's not so much the speed as rapidly changing direction while at speed and the horizontal or vertical Gs that creates - speed in a perfectly straight line wouldn't phase them much.
Many A True Nerd Just did a little googling and found that one of the higher level G-inducing roller coaster rides in the world, Batman: The Ride, only goes to a top speed of 50, and it has very rapid direction change. I haven't often seen or heard of people getting sick on it (though I'm sure it happens more than I think) and I have gone their many, many times.
+Proffessor Hiro G forces are just made by your body wanting to go one way but going another. Just like falling from a building you dont die on the way down but you die to the sudden deceleration and huge numbers of Gs
Loving this series, keep it up. Oh, and if you're using block brakes, you need to go into operating mode and swap it over, else it will only give you one train to work with...
Fallout is amazing and I showed up for Fallout back in the NV No Kill/ Kill Everything days, and even so I love this series so much that I wouldn't object if you just became a channel that uploaded a RCT2 video every day.
I love this Jon! I always played this with my brother when we were kids. We always went for 1000 appreciation, even though the limit seems to be 999 :P
Lol nice ride naming☺ Phew good thing the path issue was fixed. It was like Hello from the other side; of the park lol but they just couldn't get there😃
Just a quick tidbit, the game does know when a ride is under ground. Some rides lose points if more than "x" of it is under ground. Ex: gocarts cant have more than 1 3rd i believe or points are cut by 2.
Move over dad 'cause I'm a double dipple. Upside down on th big dip dipper. 1,2,1,2,3 I?ve got a ticket come ride with me! Oh dear did that really come out in 1996? I feel old...
dear Jon, again awesome video. I have a few tips to grind the most amount of money from your coasters and save you some annoying building difficulties: - money: try to make coasters with block brakes, with allows you to have more than 3 trains per coaster, if you make more than 4 sections in your coaster. people wouldn't have to wait so long for the next train, plus it helps preventing a crash if the stationbrakes fail. place your entrybuilding at the middle of the first train; the guests tent to go for the back or the front of the train, so that will minimize their travel distance. building tips: you already know of the shift button letting you build vertically, but if you use the control button, then you can copy the height of the selected decor or track. this saves a lot of annoying placements of high up buildings. - when building the queue line for the entrance, it will always snap to a normal path. if you dubbel built in the direction you want the line to go, it will built it in that direction and automatically unsnaps with the normal path. I hope this helps for your future vids and again, thx for the effort.
First comment on one of your videos, but I just wanted to say that your videos are always top notch. I'm loving this series and hope it continues for a long while.
Hey, John. I don't know if you know this but there's a fan project called Open-RCT2. It restores cut content like day and night cycle, it has multiplayer integration and more options (including the ability to remove all pathways for maps like amity airfield), basically it makes the game better in almost every way. It's still early beta, and the multiplayer in particular is less than stable, but I think it'd be a great idea to switch over to it when you have the opportunity, or at least give them a shout-out.
Jon I have been watching your vids since 97 subs (I could not sub back then my thing was gliched) and I watch your vids every day and you deserve 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 more subs and your my fav youtuber ignore all hate and continue being great:)
+Many A True Nerd I'm terrified of the giant black thing, especially as I'll be going into this at level 100+. And I thought Automatron was hard at a high level....
+Many A True Nerd Jon did you realize how much it looks like Point Lookout? Even in the the beginning you hear "Can you find my daughter" exactly what we had to do in Point Lookout.
I just realised on his log flume ride, they spin around backwards, go down the slope and then have their photos taken with their backs to the camera....
Jon, will we see you do a Cities: Skylines play at some point? My in-game chirper just gave me a popup that referenced Fallout, and could not help but think of you.
I gotta say, this game looks strikingly similar to the original RollerCoaster Tycoon. More of a good thing is nothing to complain about, but still... not quite sure it earned the "2" in its name, there.
i like this. and RCT 2 was pretty great at the time. still is fine. but now i really want you to give Parkitect a shot (hopefully the early access version won't be too early)
Far harbour looks gr8. I hope there is more than just one melee weapon that we saw as I'm doing a no guns run on survival. Let me tell u if u think automatron was hard b4 just wait lol. Can't wait to see you do it jon. Oh and the armour, how send did the new armour look.
Jon I think you should look into a game called Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis. You run the park and own the dinosaurs. It's a PS2 era game but it would be interesting to see your thoughts on it.
Hi! Resident Rollercoaster Tycoon Optimizer here with some tips: 1:00 Building thrill rides within the bounds of rollercoaster track like that makes both rides more exciting. As does 'racing' rollercoasters with synchronized stations. 9:40 Log Flumes produce boredom if the ride's too long, most increased by the lift portion. However, tunnels make rides more exciting and more nauseating! Building your lift through a tunnel was a master stroke on a ride with very little base nausea! Another strat? You can build multiple stations on the same ride. Build the entrance of a log flume at the top, have the exit at the bottom. This is true of most coasters. End: Set your price for the pirate ship to at _least_ $3.80! It's way too cheap at the moment! Look at its queue line!
In case you missed my comment yesterday: You should definitely check out OpenRCT2 - full engine remake so RCT2 runs better, plus the current alpha has multiplayer support. It's a good time.
Yes, take the photo of the people going backwards, you can clearly see the scared expressions on the back of their heads. oh god damn it you noticed that I should have known you would.
I bought Parkitect earlier and it is fucking amazing! I love it! It is so much like this, exept it's only in Alpha/going into early access, so it is not quite as advanced or complex, but it has a lot in it!
Your entrance needs a big sign that says "Welcome to the Jongle"
+Marty Ristau yes.
That moment When Jon put down the no entry sign, and one rebel walks right through, no fucks given
"honey I'm back from the park and the owner accidentally legally changed my name
Captain Jon's non-sexual pirate should be the name of your future Skyrim character, Jon. The title deserves proper recurring justice.
+Justin Kroboth its the same for me, he is just so cheerful in these types of games it always puts a smile on my face no matter how gloomy i feel
I'm totally naming my kid captain Jon's nonsexual pirate adventure
Actually sending a ride in and out of underground tunnels will usually raise the excitement rating.
I'm so glad this is a series! It's a very zen game, in a way; you end up completely absorbed in running your park, and that makes it easy to forget anything else. I'm definitely downloading this; I miss playing it too much to not get it.

I absolutely lost it laughing at Captain Jon's Non Sexual Pirate! lol
Subscribing to Jon was a jackpot. His channel is a goldmine of old, great stuff! He quickly became my favourite TH-camr.
I enjoy series like this cus they're nice to listen to do while you're doing stuff in the background.

Something about this series is sooo addictive, absolutely love it. Looking forward to more eps !!!
The peeps on a boat hire don't jam up if they are going into a station platform block. You can direct them with rails at the beginning, then let them roam free, but don't make them go into rails before the station.
I love when you play games like this and we can hear you grinning your head off during your opening spiel!
Absolutely keep this series up please!
Play more old games from your childhood! These have been the best series.
Darn it Jon, I've got finals to prep for but I love rollercoaster tycoon.
There's a lot less death and customer despair in this play through than what I remember from Roller Coaster tycoon... I wonder what Evil Jon's park would look like
Giant pit all the roller coasters dump into?
I would love to see a big huge wooden roller coaster like The Beast that spans a few miles maybe around the entire park. Its got an underground section, lots of very fast straight ways, a really deep first drop and a 65mph spiral drop. It was really fun, wouldn't mind seeing something like that in this park.
I loved playing these old tycoon games when I was younger. Any chance of you playing Zoo Tycoon?
How do people respond to speed in this game? Because realistically, 40-50 mph isn't much. Maybe for queasier subjects, but for the average person that goes to a theme park? I don't think so.

Omfg god the naming of the pirate ship was hilarious ...... ARsome
+Nial Sum Topical. Good work Jon.
Patrick Jackson It's so much funnier because i use the word arse so much...
The Korean drinks stand used to make me shed-loads when I played that game!
I have played this a ton as a kid, but im learning a lot of stuff from this! really getting an itch to play it.
Loving this series, keep it up. Oh, and if you're using block brakes, you need to go into operating mode and swap it over, else it will only give you one train to work with...
Best series on TH-cam 2016.
Captain Jon's non sexual pirate, yet people leave there in silence...
Nobody talks about THAT adventure.
Welfare Crusader
What happens in Captain Jon's non sexual pirate stays in Captain Jon's non sexual pirate.
Fallout is amazing and I showed up for Fallout back in the NV No Kill/ Kill Everything days, and even so I love this series so much that I wouldn't object if you just became a channel that uploaded a RCT2 video every day.
'These big old girls' Careful Jon, that's a very dangerous thing to say out loud under most circumstances.
I love this Jon! I always played this with my brother when we were kids. We always went for 1000 appreciation, even though the limit seems to be 999 :P
I can go on the log flume when it’s raining, I might get wet!
I don't hate it, in fact I love it. Please continue the series!
You're too good to be true, John.
Jon
LOVING THIS SERIES
Lol nice ride naming☺ Phew good thing the path issue was fixed. It was like Hello from the other side; of the park lol but they just couldn't get there😃
Moar.... Moar!!!!
I lost it at Captain Jon's Non Sexual Pirate. That poor guy is never going to get a job now.
Hoping for maybe a Theme Hospital play through next.
The no entry sign was available in the expansions for the first rollercoaster tycoon.
Throw some entertainers in your queue. Any wait over 20 min will bore them but the entertainers help.

Love the Pirate Boat Ride Name
dear Jon, again awesome video.
I have a few tips to grind the most amount of money from your coasters and save you some annoying building difficulties:
- money: try to make coasters with block brakes, with allows you to have more than 3 trains per coaster, if you make more than 4 sections in your coaster. people wouldn't have to wait so long for the next train, plus it helps preventing a crash if the stationbrakes fail.
place your entrybuilding at the middle of the first train; the guests tent to go for the back or the front of the train, so that will minimize their travel distance.
building tips:
you already know of the shift button letting you build vertically, but if you use the control button, then you can copy the height of the selected decor or track. this saves a lot of annoying placements of high up buildings.
- when building the queue line for the entrance, it will always snap to a normal path. if you dubbel built in the direction you want the line to go, it will built it in that direction and automatically unsnaps with the normal path.
I hope this helps for your future vids and again,
thx for the effort.
I love this series reminds me of old days aha
The Captain Jons Non-sexual Pirate Adventure mishap is now in my top ten MATN moments. Had me in stitches.
The only way the boat thingy worked for me if they go directly into the station when they return. Anyway loved the game, keep it up!
this is delightful and relaxing. love it!
Yeah! Wednesday night nostalgia!
First comment on one of your videos, but I just wanted to say that your videos are always top notch. I'm loving this series and hope it continues for a long while.
yay! was really looking forward for this
Love this game! Please do more parts!
I'm waiting for the "Kill Everything" run of this. ;)
Morbid as fuck like damn

This is amazing to watch
Anyone else notice the guy trapped in the water at 29:38 under the "5 people in queue line" ??
I love this series!
So, Moahr! Please. Keep the series up!
JON! What are your thoughts on the Far Harbour trailer?
+Frogspawn Man Looks lot a whole lot of wildlife that's going to creep me out...
I believe this one is the spooky DLC, as we always have one.
+Many A True Nerd Get your Fat man ready and aimed at the water!
I bloody love this game :D thanks Jon !!!
thank god there's a part 2 I was worried it'd be a one off
I just realised on his log flume ride, they spin around backwards, go down the slope and then have their photos taken with their backs to the camera....
arrgh maty more Rollercoaster Tycoon, more JON!
I love this series, please keep it up
love watching you build! :D more please!!
Jon, will we see you do a Cities: Skylines play at some point?
My in-game chirper just gave me a popup that referenced Fallout, and could not help but think of you.
Can I hit the like button more than once, please?
Unfortunately no
You can on an apple device, like then swipe up to reload, then like again (only works once)
Yes, you can click anywhere you like, as many times as you please.
I gotta say, this game looks strikingly similar to the original RollerCoaster Tycoon. More of a good thing is nothing to complain about, but still... not quite sure it earned the "2" in its name, there.
I'm enjoying these little simulation series.
Also imagine coming home and talking about a vacation here "yeah I rode captain John's non sexual pirate"
The GOG version of RCT2 comes with widescreen support and an unencrypted exe file. I'd much recommend it over the Steam version.
They both actually use the same exe file
A whole new world has broken down...
The no entry signs were in RCT1
i like this. and RCT 2 was pretty great at the time. still is fine. but now i really want you to give Parkitect a shot (hopefully the early access version won't be too early)
Moar... love this
the poor Captain Jon's Non Sexual Pirate had me in stitches :D

The name "Captan Jon's Non Sexual pirate adventures" is the best thing ever made by mankind
Jon I think you should look into a game called Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis. You run the park and own the dinosaurs. It's a PS2 era game but it would be interesting to see your thoughts on it.
Great Jon!
Jon, have you ever played Thrillville: off the rails? It's similar to Rollercoaster Tycoon but in first person.
thank you! love this game
Well, you sold this game to me.

The zooming log flume of doom
will you be playing parkitect on the channel when it comes out?
I bought Parkitect earlier and it is fucking amazing! I love it! It is so much like this, exept it's only in Alpha/going into early access, so it is not quite as advanced or complex, but it has a lot in it!
Hey Jon is there like an "infinite" mode where there's no goal and end and you can go as long as possible?
+CrazyBearsFan yes. and it is amazing.
