For the most part she plays as in tune as most cellists would play it - hard to do on bass. I really appreciate this pianist, really musical.
One of the bests double bass players actually for me! It seems easy to play looking at her
Combining strength training with music making is a brilliant idea.
Suprêmement beau ! Avis d'un altiste amateur dont le frère a été contrebassiste professionel et qui est un admirateur .
I love how different voices keep emerging from both parts. Wonderful, sensitive playing.
Mikyung Sung, this performance was incredible! Bravisimo to the pianist as well!!
Simply stunning. Thank you for posting. I feel blessed just from hearing this.
This is just fantastic!!😍👏
Indeed, a queen.
I've never thought double bass can reach those high note, what a amazing performance.
What a superb rendition by both musicians! Thanks for posting this gem.

You are wonderful 😍🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you so much!
@@MikyungBass Dear Mikyung, I'm also double bass player, I have some questions for you, especially about position and some illness which belongs to bass player, can we talk a bit about it? Do you have email adres or WhatsApp? It's somehow important for me. Greetings Gabriel.🙏🏼🌻🌺🥀
Beyond fabulous. You are pushing our instrument to new heights. Is this a bass transcription or the original?
I am not sure but probably just the cello part. That's what she does for the Franck.
The technical feat here is at the service of the music, bravo!!!
I would like to know what bass she plays?
❤❤❤❤
wonderful!!!I'd like to ask about the source of this score, could you tell me?
I bet she's not wearing shoes.
Bravo. However... for me absolutely No. ONE for sure Catalin Rotaru/Wan Ting Yu plays Rachmaninov Cello Sonata best in the world!!! If you don't belive see on youtube "Grzegorz Olkiewicz International Music Festival" organized by Polish Society of Double Bassists in Poland, August 2023. Irena Olkiewicz🎶
I haven't been able to find that video, sadly.
About the only direct comparison I can make is his studio album (Bass*c Cello Notes) compared to Mikyung's (The Colburn Sessions, on which she only played the 3rd movement). I've always felt Catalin Rotaru is one of the bassists whose interpretations are closest to how Mikyung plays (of course he was doing it first). Catalin's recording (th-cam.com/video/BEXoT05IA3s/w-d-xo.html) is very beautiful, but Mikyung's is, to me, more colorful, more expressive, more soulful, and more intense (th-cam.com/video/GjOs9jD0HX8/w-d-xo.html).
