@@slowspecv69 stock for stock your right they are similar. However the post is about a tuned one. On the stock tune the super charger bypass valve opens up after around 5000 rpm (in order to not upstage the B8 rs4). Any tune will keep the bypass valve vlosed all the way to redline and that's why software easily adds like 90hp to the car with no other mods.
Fabulous!! I love how stable and planted the S5 remains at high speeds, and the consistency and smoothness of the acceleration all the way to top speed. A fabulous car indeed.

@@oussama4629 450hp without turbo or compressor🤷🏼♂️ it was screaming yeah but also screaming slow, you can read it up and watch a drag rage thats on TH-cam. The s5 is a bit faster thanks to the compressor picking up faster. I also drove my s5 against a rs5 and wasnt slower so...thats what im talking about. And with stage 1 the rs5 couldnt do anything anymore. And to upgrade the rs5 would cost 1000s
@@theplayerofus319 did you just compare a NA 4.2 V8 and arguably one of the best sounding V8s out there to a supercharged stage 1 V6. sorry but this is irrational, i agree that the s5 is capable but it will never outrun an RS5 in stock form and sports cars aren't just about going fast this would make teslas supercars

got this car in 2019 with 19.000 km and i tuned it to stage 1. never let me down. i managed to hit exact 300kmh for 3 sec on the autobahn at night .
Must have been a great feeling I guess. :)

How good has the reliability been?
@@Gripengamer the car is from 2016 and has now 50k kilometers on it. Had never a problem with it. All service times were kept and its going strong, even with stage 1

The supercharged S4/S5 is heavily undertune from factory to not outshine the same gen of RS4/RS5. Stage 1 really brings it to life and if u want more u can change to a smaller crank pulley and it's not even near the same cost as changing turbo. The only downside is that it's hard to controll the temperatures when u want to go beyond stage 2 cause of the supercharger generating alot of heat. Otherwise it's more or less a bulletproof engine and might be the best engine Audi ever built.

I have the same opinion as you, rock solid platform, but mine is starting to rattle at cold start, there go off, the goes on until the engine is hot, I still have no code about the chain tensioner being to worn out
@@alexistrudel8891 yeah chain tensioner and cats har probably those 2 that are kind of questionable design. Ive read that chain tensioner is a tsb in north America but here in Sweden they consider it perfectly fine as long as that sound on start up only last a second.

The also has no torque. In a quattro with a lot of traction and nose heavy chassis, it's no fun at all.
Gotta say the RS5 is probably the best sounding car (interior sound) i have ever had, but the outside sound ... it sounds like a motorbike and not a sportscar, no matter which exhaust yo used. Lmao everyone preferred the S5 V8 sound compared to my RS5, nobody ever said "damn that RS5 sounds good", but everyones first reaction to my S5 V8 was how good it sounds... If it wasnt for the absolutely bonkers interior sound i would probably see no reason to even think about buying a RS when the 3.0 Supercharged is superior in every way.
Which tuning company’s Stage 1 is this?
i think it's APR STage 1 (443 Hp)
@@Crazy_S5_CH Maybe it has changed but back when I had a B8.5 S5, APR Stage 1 just forced the bypass valve closed so all boost would be used which would benefit those at sea level. Stage 2+ was a smaller pulley and tune which also ended up needing a transmission tune to smooth out the DSG with the 2+ tune. Wondering how that went
@@CapnT87 Trans tune was also to keep the transmission from freaking out from seeing more torque and also allowing for higher rpm upshifts. Stage 2+ was not just smaller pulley but also larger throttle body. For me has been solid for 50k miles. With some other tweaks, I dyno'd at 458AWHP.
@@djhougie Maybe they changed what Stage 2+ was after 2016. My 2+ did not include a throttle body and the trans tune unfortunately wasn’t available before I sold my S5 for a W205 C63S…still have the stock pulley and belt if anyone wants!

dump a couple thousand into this engine and you basically beat everything you find on the street. 80% of anything for sure

The only problem with this engine is its huge consumption.
cant confirm that... on efficency i manage around 7 liters on 100km. thats queit good. when i drive very fast it hits 11,m which is still solid imo

cant confirm... from oil change to oil change (yearly made) i never had to put additional oil in...
Mine has pulley intake no EGR 460 hp i change oil yearly but i Need tò put some more every 4/5k km
But Is still a very nice and smooth car and It Is fast

@@BLACKRACERONE the car weights almost 2 tons with driver and a full tank i think... thats the downside...and with quattro you lose power with higher speeds a cupra or Golf just are way lighter amd have a better drivetrain for higher speeds

cant confirm...driving mine since 2019 stage 1 420hp, never had a problem with the transmission

@@florianmeister1564Being honest the transmission is junk in the first place, if it breaks after a transmission remap with a stage 1 its really just because it would break even without it, the tune does not really change its reliability, it self desintegrates even on stock power.
Sounds like a vacuum cleaner. V8 S5 was so much better...
