      Yeah it's just a bunch of "woaa woaa woaa woaa" without any lyrics too.
      And they don't need to show the teeth on dead baboons all the time either, we get it, they have toof, cool, just talk about the shot or get onto the next.

    To be a successful hunter one has to know the nature of the game. We have baboons in America by nature, but they are a different species. They are slightly more intelligent here & have graduated to running our country by stealing & by similar. troop behavior.

    Maybe you can try skinning them and hanging their hides on fences and trees around places that you want to keep them out of. Make sure you cape them so they will be recognized by the others.

    I have been a professional gunsmith for a little over 50 years. A big fan of the old cartridges and wildcatters, especially Ackley. Current varmint rifle is .243 AI, Rem. 40-X, 85 to 95 gr. pick your favorite, 1/2 shovel of IMR-4350, 3800-3900 fps, Jewell 2 oz. trigger, H-S precision stock, Lilja 25 in. 5RC. 237.5/243.2. Foregoing is for like minded crazy gun brethren and sistern. Down to waaaay too many guns and trying to thin the herd. But, I like them all. Used several of them hunting with my late father back in the 50's and 60's.
    Old guys talk too much. Would you be so kind as to share vitals on your lovely rifle? Scope, stock, trigger, etc.
    By all means, keep up the good work. (BTW, would prefer MTB, Lynard Skynard
    Best wishes,
    George

      Baboons, because they are greatly overpopulated, encroach upon human settlements. Ironically, the numerical imbalance is due to their main predators (lions and leopards) being hunted to near extinction in those areas.

      Baboons are dreadful creatures when they come into contact with humans. Far out in the wild they are fine, but as soon as they touch anything domestic, they become a problem. Leopards control their numbers in the wild, but there are few leopard close to farms because they too prey on lambs and livestock. The baboons are totally out of control, very clever and will break into your house to take food and they tear your home up inside as if it was some kind of punishment against humanity. Dreadful creatures.

    Just a silly question, but I’m in the USA and I truly don’t know…. What do you do with the baboons after you harvest them? Do people eat them, or is it similar to the North American coyotes….where they are hunted for conservation and for the fur…we don’t eat the coyotes (but they are great alligator bait!)

    I know you're not really looking at comments, but if you do:
    1. This was amazing! Thank you! I'm very jealous!
    2. I know shooting alpha males is good for getting troops to leave the area, but wouldn't that just make them someone else's problem? It seems more logical to me (if the goal is to control the population) to kill the females because while only certain males get to mate, females ALWAYS mate. So killing more females prevents more baby baboons, which grow into problems.
    3. When there is a huge troop present wouldn't it be best to wait (within reason) for a 1 shot, 2 kill?
    4. Why don't you have multiple people shooting at the same time?
    5. Have you considered shooting them from a helicopter with mounted automatic weapons?
    6. It would be illegal, but a targeted drone strike would take out at least 10-20 of them.
    7. And finally, if the locals want rid of them, why don't they use poisoned bait?
    p.s. I love how they always scream!

    • @stillhousefilms6165
      @stillhousefilms6165 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have to agree , after watching a video of the havoc there're causing in Cape Town along with the destruction of farmers crops they need to be culled on a industrial level along with the different monkey species. Like rats and other pests you'll never get all of them but at least you can reduce the numbers to a manageable level.
      The poison bait sounds good on paper but it would be difficult to avoid killing off other animals .

    • @ronaldtoran4332
      @ronaldtoran4332 ปีที่แล้ว

      a targeted drone strike? Doesn't seem very sportsmanlike. I assumed hunters like at least a small challenge. Automatic weapons mounted to helicopters and targeted drone strikes I would think are the antithesis of a hunter's mentality. Maybe I'm wrong. I'm not a hunter.

      I’m sure happy with mine seeing great results but Iv only shot 150grain loads with it and it’s reall reaching out there now. My standard loads were 2860fts I’m guess I’m up to 3000fts plus

    I have to admit I hate baboons ! It’s from the days at safari parks as a child, watching them destroy the cars driving throu in a vane attempt to get in the car to kill us! I’d love to hunt them with a crossbow,, in fact I’d do it for free 😁
