Never formally met Nak, but I was at a Earl show in philly, & he jumped off the stage & ended up falling on the ground. I reached out and helped him up and we dapped and just started moshin. Shit was crazy. Talking about impressions.
I met nak and Mikey alfted when I was like 9 and he was filming for something for IC, and he was in New York, and he was trying this 3 shuv I think (don’t really remember I was nine lmao) and I told Mikey in my little nine year old voice “you guys are really cool” and he was filming and he just shushed me and pointed to nak and said “nakel smith, illegal civ.” And that is why I’m skatin today
Cool episode. Nakel seems real chill and down to earth. All three of you guys add something good to the show. Kelly with the nerdy skating questions roger with the on point history, and Chris with the laid back attitude that guides the show
I absolutely loved this episode. I love them all but man from an the 1 hr 3 to the end was just what I needed to hear. Struggling with addictions and life, I'm stoked to be reminded of my strengths and what I need to be doing. Thanks TheNineClub every week and Na-kel for the positive/ powerful message. Stoked on everyone!
He's right about the whole figuring out what to do. I suck at skating but I knew I could probably ollie this hydrant so I asked a professional skate photographer to shoot it (if he'd want to). He actually replied and said no, but still, he responded and that showed me that if I did get the photo and kept working I could get it done. It's all about keep trying, keep asking eventually it happens. If you're actually really good at skating you will get there, it's based on achievement. Music for instance, way more subjective. In skating you either land the trick or not.
I think it's super respectful of the nine club to introduce little elements of the paid show like the calling into our normal Monday episodes. Little additions like that are sick. I hope the show stays fun for you guys(and profitable) and continues a long time. I'm starting to enjoy Mondays again 🤘🤘
This was the best episode yet, nak is extremely well spoken and humble, such a good dude, after this interview i feel like the kids are alright, such a rad dude
@TheNineClub YOOOOOOO! EXCELLENT CHOICE! Na-Kel is SO SMART and thank you for having them on! I really hope all of the skateboard generations take something away from your words & Na-Kels words. THANK YOU!
Nak is fucking awesome. I met him at an IC event. He looked busy at the time but he heard me say his name so he turned around and took the time to say wassup. Such a leveled individual
I met theibaud at the first roll for rob back in the day and he gave me a shirt because I was wearing a real hoodie. He was talking to my buddy who owns a shop in Connecticut and he saw me standing next to him and was so hyped on my hoodie. I’ll never forget that moment and how genuine that dude is. “Listen to tommy Guerrero” on the front “don’t listen to mic e Reyes” on the back
I love how kellys description/title in the outro always changes! Shows just how much you guys enjoy the show.... And i really need to figure out a way how i can get the experience here in germany! That would already double my manageable days a week
Man. Na-kel is super likable, and seems very appreciative of his situation. Homie definitely has a bright future ahead of him.
