    Now THIS is reporting and journalism. Not once did Tyler inject his own views or opinions into the video or onto the people he was talking to, nor is he looking to argue. He's asking questions and letting people speak and be heard. We need more of this and far, far less "news" hosts telling us what to think and how to feel.

      So would you agree that it should be a choice? If one wants to be responsible and own a firearm they can. If one chooses not to, they can choose not to.
      But it is a constitutional right. So it can’t be taken away per the rights of the republic. As long as everyone agrees. I’m good with that. But the moment someone says, no you can’t do that even though it’s your right. Yea that’s not good.

      Yeah. You cannot own a fully auto weapon unless you are a very special person or a super criminal. In public shootings, a fully auto gun is almost never used. And the “AR” in AR15 stands for Armalite Rifle, the og maker of it. Not Assault rifle. And you do have to get a background check for a gun, but it is true some places don’t. We should have guns, but we need to find a way to stop all of the mass shootings.

    I used to be anti gun. Met a guy that ended up being my best friend. He was a "gun nut". We had several debates over the issue. He eventually convinced me to go shoot with him. I got scolded so many times for poor gun etiquette. It was embarrassing & made me never want to go with him again. In time I realized that I only got scolded because I was being dangerous. I learned that gun owners typically respect guns & their dangers more than anyone else. My stance has now changed. There are so many things in this world that can kill. Guns are the great equalizer. I now recommend everyone to have at least one gun & carry it whenever possible. You never know when evil will attempt to harm you. The most important thing is to train with these tools. If you don't they can harm you.
    Now that I live out in the country I feel bad for my previous stance. Bear & cougar roam near my land. I'd never harm anything unless I had to defend my family or animals, but I'm glad I have the ability to defend them. If someone came out here meaning to do harm, it would take at least 10 minutes for a police response. I need a gun for protection of my family in that case. Now I own several guns & see the necessity of being able to defend yourself. Without guns someone could come up here & put us thru hell. Even if I could get a call off to police, that response time means we could be dead & they'd be gone before help arrived.
    Now I know my anti gun stance was based out of ignorance, which is a hard pill to swallow. I just wish more people would take the time to learn the importance of the 2nd ammendment.

    • @Standforwhatsright33
      @Standforwhatsright33 ปีที่แล้ว +289

      My strongest opinion is to learn. Once you become a victim, you realize how important it is to own. Especially when law enforcement doesn't arrive for 15-45 minutes. The first time for me was the last. Also helps if you study your family tree and you descend from patriots. Compare your life and age to theirs and imagine how bad it was under British rule that they risked treason.

    I grew up in kennesaw and Marietta. That ordnance was passed in 1994 and was an answer to Clinton’s “aw” ban. The law was designed for home defense against break ins and it does work. That year break in and home intrusions dropped by 90%. Facts. It does not have to be enforced it is still up to the homeowner to make the decision to own a firearm. Best law ever written and does not enforce any banns. What is in the house stays in the house for lawful purpose.

But its a good law to follow considering some fairly dangerous areas nearby, and the fact that the crime branches out. A few months ago, there was, at a very nice golf course, very close to the areas he was in, a double homicide. This involved a cartel agent assisinating someone who was an issue one evening on the golf course. A worker happened to be near and investigated. This resulted in the worker then being killed as well.

What isn't working in Vancouver worked very well in Portugal . Comparing guns to drugs , many people believe there are parallels, that if you limit exposure you limit use. If there are no accessible drugs no one will use. If you cant get a gun, it's harder to shoot someone. Proponents of gun laws compare The UK to the US. Guns aren't readily available compared to US .. Shootings are relatively much lower . The other argument you hear is that the only time guns have been used for their political purpose , to represent the average Joes opinion and preserve democracy in the US, was January 6th . A lot of these people are unhappy because of the government not assuring its’ people that things are being done, and that is what gives them fear and hate. He then went home, got his ass beat by his mom and then his dad came by the next day and took it back home. "If they dont use a gun, they will use something else" is also a false statement. Data shows that you are less likely to smash someones head in with a hammer than you are to kill someone with a gun at a distance. It takes more to shiv someone than to shoot someone. That being said, I am PRO guns and a gun owner myself. The problem is not weather you are allowed to own guns or not, but the ease of how you get them. In some places there are background checks. Elsewhere there are not.

      I agree. I literally have no issues with people having guns. Any guns. But why are states so against more screenings, waiting periods, maybe even mandatory training. You can have all that and still honour the second amendment. As the gun guy in this video, Mike said a lot of the gun violence has to do with mental illness and pharmaceutical drugs, which I agree, but then why not make a law that people who are on these drugs can’t own guns? I also don’t think the whole “ if people can’t buy guns legally they’ll just do it illegally” is not a good enough argument since most mass shooters are not carrying out their shootings with illegal weapons. People are lazy and the harder you make it to own a gun the easier it is for them to give up and not have one. I personally don’t think that mentally ill shooters have the patience to wait for a gun or take training or even try to get a gun illegally since many of these types are shy and without connections. If you think I’m wrong, let me know. I’m all about learning and taking in different perspectives.

    Just an add-on tidbit regarding the AR (Armalite Rifle); it was originally designed in 1959 and intended for civilians use. Wasn't until Colt bought the patent that it got turned into a military rifle in the form of the M16. The more you know

    • @soul0360
      @soul0360 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Common misconception.
      AR are actually just the two first letters in Armalite.
      You do know, that they also made Handguns, right.
      Apart from this, the rest checks out, as far as I know.

    • @reedpratt1985
      @reedpratt1985 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      If you go on Armalite's website, as well as a plethora of other sources, you'll see that this is not accurate. Armalite originally designed the AR-10 with the help of military specialists to use the 7.62 cartridge, intended for military trials. They entered the trials late, weren't selected, but were encouraged by the military to make a smaller caliber lighter gun that could hold more ammunition for infantrymen. That rifle eventually became known as the AR-15, which was once again entered in military trials, but once again failed to the m14. Armalite did end up selling a small quantity on the civillian market after their rejection but was ultimately picked up by the military. However, Armalite lacked the production scale to manufacture the guns for the US military and as a result sold the design to colt, who ended up renaming it the m16. So the AR-15 was never, at any point, designed with civilians in mind. I don't say this to make a political statement regarding gun control, merely to encourage you to properly research before asserting false statements online.

There are ways to counteract this, by very severely punishing the criminal use of firearms, but if this is done then there's little reason to disarm the law abiding.

      2A was not ratified to take out the government...your government, but it was insisted upon by the People and the States before they would ratify the US Constitution. Notice it is not in the Constitution...but added....so the original George Washington convention didn't think it was necessary.
      2A is worded as a chicken and egg proposition. The Militia is needed to defend The Republic (and all parts of the Republic such as your nation, state, county, town, home or person) so...The People must be able to own and bear their own arms....to be able to act as a proper militia in times of need.
      The Declaration of Independence is the document that talks about the legal obligation to be able to take up arms against the sitting government if that government is counter to the well being of The People...such as they claimed the Royal Governors national guards and UK Regulars were in 1776.
      So my advice to 2A proponents is to not lead off your debate with possibly shooting the government. That only makes your anti gun audience even more dead set against you. Start off with the positives of such arms in peace or in times of foreign or terrorist attack. Bring up the people of Israel last month or of Ukraine in 21...those unarmed with only an ability to run or be killed...vs....those ready to slow down Putin or Hamas on day 1.

      Don't forget the time the kids bit a pop-tart into the shape of a gun and was expelled.

    5:34 You don't wanna lean back when you're shooting you wanna lean forward because when you're shooting there's a bit of recoil and when you're shooting and you're not leaning forward then the gun can fall off your hands which can either harm you or others.

      You can always tell someone isn't used to shooting when they lean back like that. I think it's partly because they are scared of the gun, and instinctively lean away from it.

      That's exactly what I was saying when I seen it. I instantly thought, man I would have stopped him and corrected him on his stance. Either that or handed him a rifle with some good recoil and let him learn a lesson the hard way because I'm a asshole and proud and that's something we assholes do.

      @@theRPGmasteror they think they have to lean back to counter react the weight of the gun wanting to drop forward. Good thing it didn't have a scope because I could see him easily placing his eye right up against the scope which would have resulted in a black ring eye. Idk how many new shooters I've seen pull that one with a scope. Most thanked me for stopping them and telling them not to do that and why. A couple told me more or less to shut up and that they knew what they were doing. Those ones I just stood there and watched them laughed my ass off after they pulled the trigger and got a black eye. Some people just need to learn the hard way.
