Thanks I've got a 8 hp with a new starter..been having a problem with over wrap while rope return....It was just to much rope......lol.....it came fully spooled....now I know I need to take some out.....thanks

When you turn it to the right a few times does the spring return it to the left?

Got to ... This Old Outboard...he has a conversion replacement video...but they make a replacement plastic top for those now $ 100 dollars.... little high I think...the idle screw is moved to the side and plugged on the front now.... I've got one...

Do you have to counterclockwise cord reel and then use clamps like in this video to secure then slip new cord into cord holder obviously with knot and pull through cover, put knot into cord grip. And the cord holder should retract in a clockwise motion filling cord holder.
