Thanks I've got a 8 hp with a new starter..been having a problem with over wrap while rope return....It was just to much rope......lol.....it came fully spooled....now I know I need to take some out.....thanks
Hello! Mine is not recoiling. Do I just need to spin it counter clock wise more? And or do you have knowledge of any other issues that might be? Thanks
Got to ... This Old Outboard...he has a conversion replacement video...but they make a replacement plastic top for those now $ 100 dollars.... little high I think...the idle screw is moved to the side and plugged on the front now.... I've got one...
Do you have to counterclockwise cord reel and then use clamps like in this video to secure then slip new cord into cord holder obviously with knot and pull through cover, put knot into cord grip. And the cord holder should retract in a clockwise motion filling cord holder.

When you turn it to the right a few times does the spring return it to the left?
@@BoatMotors I think no matter which way I turn it, it just stays put. No other movements that I can tell. Thanks
@@Jacpeewie It looks like the spring is broken. Here is the site where you can find the part number and order it: www.marineengine.com/
What sized rope fits the rewind?
You can buy rope for the garden tools from Home Depot.
what is that exact motor, I can’t find videos with that same carburetor. I have one 6.5 commercial johnson
