I was originally going to buy the standard hardcover last year but then I saw they were going to publish a deluxe edition. So glad I waited and decided to get this instead.
Love that this happened! I still have the original issues from the 90’s, but I’m happy to have it in OHC with the new story! I feel like this stuff is so fun!
I mentioned this a few weeks ago to my fiancé who surprised me today with a brand new copy of this and LN used copies of Batman vs Aliens (both compendiums too). I think it's her way of getting me to not PC game as much, but man she sure knows how to do it!
Mine arrived a few days ago, and have yet to open it. Thanks for the review. Never knew that there was a 2022 meeting. I do remember the original meetings and being peeved about the art from DC as I had hope Todd would had done it like he did for image. Thanks for the review. Will need to crack it open this Easter.
I think they have included all the variants but TOY VARIANT or whatever they call it. Also no DC SPAWN month variants and I am sure they forgot about the one from COMICS VALUE MONTHLY from 90s.
My copy is in the mail baby! Seeing Klaus Jansen's artwork reminds me of the need for a classic Punisher omnibus that features his art in the character's first title.
I've got thjis on the way to me, should be here tomorrow, I have the paperback of the Spawn/Batman which this will be replacing, and yeah I knew about the DKR connection

I buy a shit ton of both Batman AND Spawn, and I never knew this was a thing until while re-reading Spawn (Issue 50 on me re-read) just now it popped into my head to see if this had been, or was about to be, re-released! And; POW! there it is on AmazonAU! Pumped asf. This will be at the end of me Batman Omni's/ Deluxe and the start of me Spawn Deluxe's... perfect bridge point in me library between two of my fave comic characters (Conan, who sits top shelf, and Wolverine and Supes making up my Top 5) Great review, Omar, as always!
Worth it for the Greg Capullo and Todd McFarlane art alone. Stories are all meh... Best one is the 3rd one by Frank Miller cause it kind of fits in with Spawn continuity. I'd buy it for the variant covers and Capullo pencils, but I have the original releases of the comics so I don't need it.
It would be nice if a chanel like this did a video about bookdepository closing and how it would affect book collectors and comic book collectors all around the world and if there are alternatives and what to do from may 2023...
Can't wait, mine is on the way! It may not be an Eisner winner but I have a soft spot in my black heart for Frank Miller's dickish Batman. Looking forward to reading the new one that's in there too.
I feel cheated. The UNWRAPPED part of Capullo pencils should be sold separately just like published recently UNPLUGGED version or be just added to UNPLUGGED book for maybe $4-5 more. I am not gonna buy this collection I already have in single issues only to have unwrapped part. Shame on You DC.
Theres nothing to be spoiled about this book, its a nonsense that you tried to censor the last page from every one shot, those stories are not canon in the main universe and doesn’t happened anything relevant at the end of the issues, Spawn/Batman by Frank Miller its one of the worst crossover ever, i mean Batman acting like a jerk isn’t fun at all.
Like I said before. This crossover was bad but in a good way. You want to see a real BAD crossover in a bad way? Batman/Aliens II. Probably the worst intercompany crossover EVER.
@@McLovin-kg1if he didn't say he was being forced to like it, he was just sharing his opinion on the comics. For some reason, the fact it's a negative opinion seems to annoy you personally. You don't have to be a creative to be able to recognise what makes a piece of work good or bad and criticise it. I'm not a carpenter, but I can recognise when a chair has wobbly legs that it's poorly made. Even if you're not a comic creator you can recognise poor art or inconsistent writing.

That continuity callout is probably there because that story is in Spawn's continuity.
There is a bunch, definitely not all of them, there were more variant covers than pages in the book.

Doesn’t matter. Some people out there have not read the stories and don’t need any type of spoilers. Hence why I do it. At least the art is pretty.
Yup one of the worst crossover ever but it's so bad it's so good. It's so bad in a way it's hilarous just like All Star Batman & Robin.
