I made some squiggly scribbly hot glue gun stencils. I made lines, basic shapes and some scribbled shapes.
The intention was to overlap these on the gel plate, and create different arrangements.
I used gel plate, brayers, acrylic paint, hot glue gun, silicon mat and paper. This was mostly cheap tissue paper to achieve transparent collage papers.
I hope you enjoy.

Hi Kirsten, I love that. Mark making for collages is always a great fun ( especially with glue gun stencils). And reducing the color palette to a light and a dark color also gives some insight in identifying what is foreground and what is background. I bet you noticed 😍. I am looking forward to see you making collages, using those pretty prints you pulled today. Have a nice easter time my dear 🥰. XO Britta
Hi Britta, I’ve been looking at atmospheric perspective, which I think (really hope) will give me some insight into foreground and background and how to use them.
I have made a couple of collages but we’ve been hit with a horrible sickness bug in the family. I’m better than I was but not sure I’ll be Easter egg ready on Sunday 😖
Happy Easter to you too Britta ❤️🥰
@@quirkyqueens Oh my dear! What a desaster! I hope you ´ll get better soon - and easter egg-ready Take your time my dear and have a snuggly rest on the sofa or wherever you feel comfortable. Love and hugs and good vibes from Britta 😘
@@brittahansen8688 thank you Britta 😘
You did it again, Kirsten! You made me happy just by watching these bizzare glue forms turn into art. I like your thoughts during the process, they make the forms come alive. Is there a limit to your creativity? No, there isn't! Keep on rising little Quirky star! ⭐️ Whishing you a happy easter week, Mara XX
Hi Mara, sorry I’m so late replying. We’ve had a terrible sickness bug in the family this week, I’m still not right but much better. I’m glad I got this video made on Monday before it started.
I love your comment, and it really inspires me to keep trying new things. I wish you a very happy Easter week too Mara xx🥰
@@quirkyqueens Thank you, Kirsten. Hope you get well soon. All the best for you and your family.🍵🌿
Thanks Mara, we generally don’t catch bugs like this xx🐞
I'm in the US, love your accent.
Thanks roxann, I’m in Scotland, I’d love to visit the US one day!
Fabulous...I need to pull out my glue gun and make some of these glue gun bits and print with them on transparent paper! Do you bother cleaning the glue gun bits?
I avoid any cleaning as much as possible!!! 😂
I don’t clean them, I also think the acrylic paint build up makes them stronger, especially if you use both sides of the stencil/ mask/ thingy majigs (one side is generally flatter so tends to be used more).
@@quirkyqueens that’s good….do you happen to have a video where you show how you create the glue stencils?
@@RobinGayl I don’t think so, but it’s very easy to do. Use a heat resistant mat and just create lines that will make shapes. There are videos out there. I’ll try do one soon.
Wonderful marks! Would you please share the name of the white paint? Tnx
Hi Suzan, it’s white acrylic paint by sennelier. It’s from their cheaper range which is called abstract.
And thank you, I’m really glad you liked it!!
Thanks so much! I’m really enjoying your posts ❤
Do you reuse your glue pieces
Hi Debbie, I do. They’re a bit fragile for getting bashed about in storage, so I put them in a bag on top of my stencil drawer. They’re reusable many times, like stencils or stamps.
What great idea. I never thought of using kid paints. The results are wonderful.
Hi Lisa, kids poster paints are very good, I especially like the transparency.
Do you still make asmr videos? The one I saw was brilliant.
Hi Ella, I haven’t made one in quite a while. I think I made that as I was afraid to chat at the start!!
I will make a point of making one soon, thank you for liking it!!
@@quirkyqueens oh gosh, I loved it. I was mesmerized.
Hey Kirsten, I thought there were some really interesting and attractive pulls in this video and the tissue paper certainly offers additional possibilities with texture. I think your glue gun stencils are great! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!!!! I love the delicateness of glue gun stencils due to the varied line thickness, it gives them a light floaty feel in comparison to other types.
Great process for using the hot glue stencils. As soon as I try image transfers on a silicone mat (like Eddie did in his video) I am going to try image transfers on the freezer paper and sgraffito on the silicone mat… and then I will get my hot glue gun and try this (so many new ideas 😮)
Hi Lydia, I will need to try the silicon mat, I’ve seen a few folk doing this. I think the sgraffito on the silicon mat will be ideal actually. Image transfers on the freezer paper will seal you as the queen of freezer paper printmaking. 👑
Love your glue gun stencils-mine turn out a little too thick.
I had a mini glue gun that took forever to churn glue out. The new glue gun was great to move a bit faster with. Any skinny bits I just went back over if necessary. It’s the threads I can’t control, and don’t have the patience to trim off 🙄😂
@@quirkyqueens I think the threads make cool prints.
👁👁👍I enjoyed your video very much. Very beautiful designs.
Thanks!!! Hope the course is going good 👀👋🏻
@@quirkyqueens👁👁👉 Well , I had a bit of a monkey thrown into my life last week. I was involved a bad car accident with my Jeep and a Young man on one of those super fast racer motorcycles , AKA crotch rockets. Thank goodness no one went to the hospital, and no one died. The Young man's motorcycle was totaled and my Jeep got a huge dent in my back seat passenger side door behind the driver side seat. I have insurance , thank goodness, and everything is being took care of. I'm just very thankful that the Young man wasn't killed or injured severely. Stuff being fixed and replaced is not a problem, So I'm gonna call that all good. Because money can't fix or replace a human life lost. Ok?🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏.
Hi Kirsten, I missed you! Did not have much time to watch the last two weeks because of family affairs! This stencils are absolute gorgeous and the results are "Quirky Queens-Style" - fabulous! Super Cool. 😍
Hi Judith, family affairs do get in the way sometimes 🙄😂
You’ll be gearing up for the Easter holiday season too! I can imagine it’s a busy time for you.
I’ve been going off in different tangents recently, some not so successful, but it’s the only way to progress. I totally agree these are my style, and I really enjoyed making this video because it was my style!
I’m trying to learn some new techniques so I can bring them to the gel plate, but like anything new, it’s harder and unclear. But, it will be worth it as I’m sure I’ll have much better info to give on the channel! 🥰
@@quirkyqueens My dear "Quirky", I´ll watch your process and I am inspired to take new ways too. Go ahead, you are a real artist. Love from Höhenwirt, Carinthia! We will open summer season on the 2nd of May!
