To do It, It's outrageous you have to wait that long especially when time is against you Im finding it hard dispite getting perfect scores on mock exams and reading the study book the the questions and answers in the tests are almost completely different or described in such a way they are not Recognisable to what you revised If fail again I will be out of work been doing security for over 6 years and I am good at my job but now I could lose my job because of all this BS. 4 of my workmates are not bothering because they cant afford it or they think it will be too hard.
I'm quiting this December as well. No way will I pay over a grand for a license for a minimum wage job. The physical intervention for example will not stop a 20 stone nutcase off his tits on cocaine. For fuck sake we can't even carry pepper spray.
Door supervisors who completed their initial training after April 1st, 2021 wouldn't need the top-up training as part of their license renewal process. Their initial training already incorporates the updated content covered in the top-up course. Here's a quick recap: Door supervisor training completed before April 1st, 2021: Requires top-up training for license renewal (introduced in October 2021). Door supervisor training completed after April 1st, 2021: Exempt from top-up training (considered up-to-date).
The training is absolutely bollocks, the tutors walk you through the “exams” physical intervention is just laughable and embarrassing for everyone involved, just a way to take more money out our pockets while still getting under paid for the crap we deal with
I already have a Level 2 Award for Upskilling Door Supervisors do I still need this new “top-up” stuff the point of my last upskilling was about terrorists and physical intervention is this qualification now considered pointless?
Nobody knows for sure about 2026, I personally can’t think of any further training they could give us although the SIA are bound to find something just to keep the training companies busy and the money to keep coming in for the SIA. First aid will always be needed every 3 years. I’ve downgraded to SG to save money and time as I’ve decided never to work at pubs or clubs again.

And is approved EFAW course online and level 2 award. Top up course and level 2 award a the same course or not. Thanks.
You should just be able to do the top up course. However you can check with the SIA here: 03001239298 (select option 3 and then 2). They are available from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.

Hi I did my Sia course in 2016 in which I covered physical intervention and most of the new top up training as well I just got my first aid training certificate in April this year and my badge expires on next year October do I still need to do a top up training as it's saying u can renew your badge if u got a new qualifications like first aid I have a door supervisor license ?

I refused to do my top up and my licence expired a year ago. Only taking the absolute pethethic training as my mate offered me a door.

Hi Manjeet, you would need to complete the SIA training in the UK and get your SIA licence to be able to work in the UK.
They should do it every 5years
