diesel emissions are a lot cleaner than gas emissions, and produce a ton less carbon monoxide. what would come out of a gas engine in a minute, could take hours from a diesel CO wise. when you see the black smoke (coal) you're just seeing unburned fuel. the coal only goes up like 20-30 feet before falling back to the ground. Diesel's only roll coal when running rich, once the turbo spools and the boost helps all the fuel burn, it goes away, or tuning down the fuel will keep it from running rich which makes the black smoke..I love diesels, they're very efficient have good low end torque and great fuel economy when set up right.

Agreed, people bash them but my family has 4 and none have had any serious problems, and the 2006 Escape we have is at 256,000 miles with only a previous owner transmission rebuild. Also the mustang I have is hands down the best investment I've ever made and it still makes me happy every time I drive it.

Parents bought a 2000 Windstar back in 2002. Replaced the transmission twice, once while it was still under warranty, again like 3 years later, then the engine locked up one day in 2010. Junked it and havent gone near a Ford since. My Saab has been more reliable than that pos was

Line lock burnout whilst stationary thats high school stuff. That should easily do rolling 4th gear clutch pop burnout and whilst moving change up into 5th and red line it. 6th wouldn't be off the cards. Much better/faster smoke going into top as fast as possible, you don't get much smoke out of the belts. You have to get into top gear whilst there is still tread left.

My highschool has a tradition of blocking off the parking lot and throwing a party before school starts. It ends with a burnout contest. The year i graduated a friend used his ford ranger to do a burnout till BOTH ties exploded then he ran it down to the rims till the tire chunks flew off. That was the best burnout i ever saw.
