    What were those liquids you put in at 2:30? You a few different things in but didn't explain what they were.

      The second liquid looked like lime juice or something similar. Not sure about the first, rice wine maybe? My best guesses

      In the description he states dash of wine and dash of white pepper powder, perhaps these could be the two things?

    Thank you for the upload Khoan. Very much appreciated. I wondered if you could help. I tried for the first time Chicken in cheese sauce at my local Chinese takeaway. It was really nice, but never seen it offered before in other takeaways. It was whole sliced chicken breast in batter smothered in cheese sauce. Would it be possible to show this recipe in the future? 👍

    hi khoan great to see you back on youtube. how long can you store this once you have made it and how ? did you add rice wine half way through ? great video by the way i’ve learnt so much from watching you over the years cheers

      Thanks for watching. it last quite a while if you store in an air tight jar and soak in oil. Or you can prepare half packet a time. It is much cheaper than buying ready prepare jars.

    always wanted to know this thank you 2 questions what was in the sprite bottle and I've had a bag of these dried beans in my pantry for over a year do they go off

      His sprite bottle is usually white pepper

      And the other bottle with blue cap is probably cooking wine. But both the pepper and the wine are not on the ingredient list at the end.

      the bottle is white pepper powder. Black beans are fermented ...I think they should be okay if they are still dried.

    I once tried this from your old video and book, but I think I had the burner on too high for too long and "burnt" them. It took the normal smell you get when you stick your nose in the packet and really intensified it! I created some kind of deadly black bean gas that stank the kitchen out and gave me a headache! I don't think I used that batch :) It took me a while before I could stomach eating green pepper and black bean from the local chinese after that.
    I only used some of the beans from the packet when making that batch, the rest were in a glass jar. I found that with a bit of soak I could add them to the meal directly and it meant I didn't have to try and prepare a big batch like this that is more appropriate for your take-away kitchen.

    A thought a would just take enough out the pack for a meal then soak in hot water for 10 mins & drain then add straight to the wok..

      I used rapeseed oil, any vegetable oil is fine.
