Best rc truck ever built finally got the history behind it 😊😊 thank you for sharing 🙏 always been my childhood dream truck and put mine on display since 2006
Radio controlled car action magazine is what taught me to read when I was a kid. I was in grade 5 and could hardly read, I found a radio controlled car action magazine at the grocery store, I was instantly fascinated by the world of rc cars, I would look at all the photos endlessly and then eventually learned to read the articles, my mom got a the next issue and so on. I even ended up,having one of my own cars later on featured in readers ride.
Many years ago I purchased the Tamiya TXT-1. It was very expensive and a very robust and well engineered truck. I ended up modifying it extensively for rock crawling and it served me well for many years. Thanks for the story Kevin I enjoyed it a lot!
You have no idea how absolutely happy I am that you've put this video out I remember hearing you explain a little bit about it in an interview you did with CCXRCA while back. As somebody who's absolutely obsessed with solid axle monster trucks and I'm so happy and fortunate to be able to own A TX T1. It means the world to me that you put out this video to teach people about the history of it so they can see just how important of a vehicle it is to the RC monster truck scene. And thank you for showing your sway bar set up hope you don't mind I think I'm gonna use A similar setup because the torque twist is out of control but I don't want to get rid of the cantileverset up.
Thanks for sharing! I bought mine while working at beatties (remember them?) Ive been steadily modifying it ever since as its so heavy but still having fun with it 25 years on 😊
Wow this is amazing - I wanted one of these so bad at the time, but financially just never happened. I used to stare at them in the hobby shops. I only in recent years picked up a TXT-2 and finally got that Big Tamiya Truck in my collection. Its epic you had a hand in the TXT-1 coming to life. Good work and thank you for sharing the story.
Absolutely awesome! I just finished building one from nib for my channel. Great design. I used the blue lightweight chassis as well. Thank you for putting this video out. I love the history behind these designs.
Man! This is amazing!!! I have been a fan of yours for years! I like the outside of the box thinking... and the "I wonder if this will work?... I want to try it!" approach you have. This is an awesome story that somehow slipped by me! Thank you!!!
I bought a TXT1 when it first came out and added all New Era parts to it, including the blue roll cage. It was a lightly used carpet runner before I sold it. Regretted it ever since. I wish Tamiya would bring it back to production!🙏🏻
I still have mine has box art blue and yellow and anodized blue cantilevers that are hard to find. Thank you for making it possible to own! I will never get rid of mine, ever fucking never!!
that's cool as hell you got to design and work on the truck with Tamiya, didn't know the background of the txt1 but always wanted a clodbuster, juggernaut or txt1... my first monster truck ended up being an emaxx that i broke and worked on more than I drove it lol 😂 my first rc cars were a Tamiya grasshopper and a lunch box so I know all about those mechanical speed controllers lolz 😆 if you showed people in rc a mechanical speed controller im sure they'd have no clue what it is
I had no idea who I was talking to. 🙇♂🙇♂🙇♂ I like thinking outside the box too! I just want you to know I did a single motor conversion for my Juggernaut. It's the first ever video I uploaded. 😅
They need to come back out with your vehicle again make it the way you had it exactly and make it the way they had it exactly have two different versions to make things.

Great history about this RC Kevin. So cool you were part of the design. Wish Tamiya would consider bringing stuff like this back to the market!
Yeah, I hope Hetmanski Hobbies will convince Tamiya to re release the Juggernaut and TXT 1🤞🤞🤞
Loved the vid! Thank you for sharing the experience, something only others can dream about! Keep up with the great vids. 😊
