- Progress continues on the Cooper S.
I have found a genuine wheel and bought a new boot board to bring the boot up to standard.
Plenty more to come with this car ready for 2021 show season.

I am the same mate, i watch all these minis on Instagram and TH-cam and i want another 🤣
@@classicminidetails8887 haha I'm not alone then 😂.looking forward to the next update!
Good update, looking good, noticed you need the Y shape clips for the swinging 65 visors. Ps I have some original ones if you want some.
Oh and do want to sell old boot board💰
I need some of those swinging visor clips mate! Can you message me on Facebook? Alex Toon
I would suggest you keep the 2 steering wheels,.if in any casyou ever have to change one year se the o while ht one is being fixed awesome cars,👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Definitely mate, give me the opportunity to change things up
The steering wheel was on a car that was being sold, but never fitted so it didn't go with the car.
I'm sure the wheel was made in the U.K., but it's not some sort of plastic. the wheel is a high quality
product, but lighter than the original wheel. Check your new wheel it could be a new repo made
from aluminum and will never crack around the horn button plunger hole.
who supplied your new steering ?
I bought it from a guy on Facebook of the cooper S page. He runs nippy cars
Looks much better with the original wheel on 👍 where did you get the cover for the cooper from?
Hi mate Amazon! Way better than minispares crap.
@@classicminidetails8887 is it a fabric one?
@@russjjones81 yes mate will send you the link on Instagram
Great videos 👌🏻
Thanks Henry glad you enjoy them
Classic Mini Details Recently got a 998 Cooper (65’), absolutely love it.
@@henryportwood9364 nice! Are you in the UK?
Classic Mini Details nah mate in Brisbane, from Manchester originally though
Ahh okay! Better weather over there mate
Hiya mate, that looks so much better with an original steering wheel fitted, love the bus wheel of the early Minis. Have you decided on the wheel colour for the steels yet?
Steels will be going Old english white mate. I need to do some jobs on my Mayfair before i get those done
@@classicminidetails8887 Was hoping you'd go OEW as IMO its the right choice for a car of that colour and period. Are we getting some Mayfair videos seeing a lot of the new subs to the channel won't really know it exists?
@@graemew7001 yes certainly the best colour choice. Yes the Mayfair will hit the channel soon mate. I honestly cant believe how many people are following my videos now its kind of surreal really. The Mayfair is a great car and will be featuring on Twin Cam in the very near future too
@@classicminidetails8887 That Twin Cam channel is class.....apart from he has a poxy Metro lol. Just ask Marc Simpson about my view of Metros!! I'm not surprised you're getting the subs, the cars and the personalities of the folk on the channel make it a winner.
@@graemew7001 the metros are a good shout i think for a daily classic. Thanks mate appreciate it i genuinely appreciate loyal subscribers like yourself! Hopefully one day i can buy you a drink.
Amazing car and channel mate. I’d love one but couldn’t stretch to an s. Perhaps a mk 1 Cooper....but don’t know if any real discernible improvement in performance over the 1976 mini 1000 I just sold (only had 10,000 miles!!) Any thoughts ?? Keep up the good work!
Hi mate, i honestly dont know alot about mk1 coopers apart from they only came with a 998. They did have twin carbs what your 76 thousand wouldn't of had. I dont think the internals of the engine are different than a standard 998 but dont quote me on that! The cooper S is more in terms of performance but it comes with a hefty premium unfortunately. I bought mine for what it is not the performance side
Classic Mini Details that’s helpful thank you mate - look forward to more vids on the Cooper S!
@@rjdavies1982 pleasure mate, i will try do a comparison video in the future on a mk1 Cooper and delve into whats different
Classic Mini Details brill!
A 998 Cooper engine has 55bhp and differs a lot from an ordinary 998 made in the 70-ies.
12G295 with bigger valves and ports for starters, raised crown pistons, bit 'hotter' camshaft, twin SU's as mentioned, extractor exhaust, gearbox has close ratio gears and 3,765 finaldrive (3,44 in the 70's mini). And tiny 7" discbrakes that at that time where ok, at least they dont need adjusting!
My family are named Toon from Nottingham.
No way! Not many Toons around!
