I think there was an expectation of eventually becoming accustomed to the taste, at least in my mind. But Malört clearly has that je ne sais quoi that is completely impervious to any relaxation.
That's probably down to the skunk road-kill flavor.

I went to a Wine Festival yesterday and sampled some of the worst wines ever... GA is not known for great wines. Would love to see PV3 do a video from a crappy wine festival...
It could be a Regional Wine Pain Olympics, with the worst ones having a shot of Malört mixed in to see if that helps?
I still maintain that you should add 2-3 drops of saline solution to each of the Malort cocktails, chemically speaking it should go a long way towards making it drinkable.
Out of curiosity, what would that do?
@@jasonblalock4429 Blocks some of your tongues receptors ability to taste bitter flavors, should help with bringing out some of the flavors that might be being overpowered by the oppressive bitterness of Malort.

I tentatively think I’ve actually been able to make a good malort cocktail. It’s a Negroni variant:
1.5oz Gin
1.5oz Vermouth
0.75oz Aperol
0.75oz Malort
Stir over ice, grapefruit twist

I'm still pulling for a Long Island Iced Tea. Or, perhaps, a Rikers Island Ice Tea, in this case. Swap out the vodka and/or rum, but let the more flavorful liquors stay in for the most expressive experience!
A Malort Sour, Malort and Dr. Pepper or Malort and SevenUp should be next. You can call it Malort, Seven up yours!
I swap the bitters and Malort. I use Crown Royal black and simple syrup.
