I live in Sherwood and we have a city ordinance where there are no homeless camps allowed here. I'm so happy about that I feel safe knowing that they're not here. I wish that Portland would do something like that to clean up downtown

Well that's nice for you but NIMBY is not a solution huge numbers of homeless. You've preserved your bubble but shouldn't be resting on your laurels. This is an opioid epidemic on top of a pandemic on top of fentanyl and rents being too high, locking your gate does nothing to "solve" anything.

Lol I grew up there. Maybe there isn't homeless but there's a huge opioid issue among young people, terrible public transit options to get people out for work or other means of income for homeless people, and strict police. Maybe "they're not here" but just move somewhere else, which is always what will happen.

Homeless people always gravitate to the most beautiful and desirable towns and cities and proceed to ruin them for the residents. People won't want to invest or visit Seaside if it looks like it's been turned over to bums. We can stay at home in Portland and Seattle for that. Why not go where you can afford to live more cheaply? You have wheels. If you can't afford the camp fees at the local campground, you shouldn't be camping on the street. Two reasons. One; when you're living that life and going through agony, if you can't look up from the desperate grind for daily survival and see something better to aspire to, something that helps you dig *deep* within yourself to find that last bit of daily energy you need to push just a lil bit further for some type of better future, all you have is an indescribable despair that infects the soul. And two: defiance of a system that has determined you are a certain way and don't deserve anything good. A system that will do anything to confirm their narrative of you. A system designed to sabotage you, abuse you, fill you with undeserved self loathing, break you, and keep you dependent. When you become the "cautionary tale" that makes others feel superior to you and allows them to cope with working for nonlivable wages in toxic conditions, it kinda makes you want to plant yourself down amongst your "betters" and spit fire into the wind.

Laundry, shower, toilet, and cooking-facilities are provided. Dumpters and the staff's salaries; which should total only $260,000 a year. Where is it getting its "millions more to run" lie from?

These are the component to create *Homeless Shelter Villages* [HSV] using _Pallet Shelter's_ existing HSV products: the _Community Room_ sells for $37,000, the _Bathroom_ costs $35,000, and the _Services Office_ costs $9,000. So for only $81,000 a city can establish a HSV. The two person _Shelter 64_ costs $7,000. 100 X $7,000 = $700,000. For $781,000 the city can establish a HSV for 200 residents. For $160 million a city can establish 205 HSVs to shelter 41,000 residents. Which will reduce the pressure on affordable housing so that all rents drop 50% across the entire country!

Maybe make a camp ground area for them. Then they have water , power , and a place to use restroom. Get them off the streets and all in one place to help them get services they need. Then parks can be used and the sidewalks open for people to use and people that bring in there money for vacations to keep stores open so they can make money. Just a thought

Oregon taxes are already #2 in the nation behind NY. *1 of 4* Cities can eliminate homeless tent encampments by replacing them with *Homeless Shelter Villages* [HSV] using _Pallet Shelter's_ existing *Homeless Shelter Village* [HSV] components. The _Community Room_ sells for $37,000 and serves as a shared laundry room, restaurant, *child daycare center,* and addiction services center.
