  • Video contains detailed look on the assembly of a Harvey Woodworking Cabinet Table.
    In this video I walk through the table saw assembly and some unboxing of a Harvey Woodworking 110S-52 table saw. This saw is available in both a 36” and 52” version, I will be showing the 52” version.
    I recently upgraded my table saw to the Harvey Woodworking 110s52” TiN table saw - let me tell you this is one fine piece of woodworking machinery. I put together this video to show how I went about assembling it - and to show it is doable with only one person, although it would likely be easier with two people. I walk through this different tricks and tips I learned that were not evident to me at first. By watching this video you will get the answers to some of the confusion during the build. The 36” version should be the same but a smaller layout - basically one less phenolic table and shorter rails. I also have the TiN (Titanium Nitride) coated version, allowing for extra protection - it is available in Cast Iron or the TiN coated cast iron.

    Nice work. I have a one-man crew too. Going to try setting up my Harvey table saw and Harvey band saw waiting for me to pull off the pallets! Your vid is only 1 of 2 I found that actually shows how it could be done without lifts, hoists or 2+ people, none of which I have.

      @@GetOffTheCouchDesign It was a little intimidating getting the table saw off the pallet and onto the mobile base by myself but it wasn’t too bad at all. Just made sure to keep the weight of the saw at a comfortable spot and all was good.
      The band saw was a little more involved because the center of gravity was higher than the table saw and it felt more tippy. I made the mobile base for the band saw a little smaller than I had intended, but I was able to get it to fit tightly but still ok.
      Both have been performing well except for the miter gage, which slipped off zero degrees. I didn’t notice it until I measured some of my cuts and corners were measuring like 88 degrees instead of 90.
      Setup of both was pretty simple and very accurate.
      Harvey forgot to include several bolts and the legs for the extension table for the table saw. One of the hold downs for the bandsaw table was broken upon arrival but they replaced all of the parts.
      Lastly, the table saw manual is written incorrectly for my saw. It has the high and low measurement window buttons in the wrong locations. Their electronic manual is correct, just the paper manual is wrong.

      Thanks appreciate it! I think it would be better if I got a larger more sturdy one. I had this one for another tool and it’s a bit under matched for the table saw. Although it does help me be able to move it slightly - they do have beefier ones available if I recall

    Good choice on the mobile base. I got the one from Harvey and it’s not that good. Also, keep the top waxed. Even though it’s the TiN coated version, mine is still rusting in spots after 7 months. Mostly surface rust, and I was able to remove most of it. Still, pretty disappointed I spent the extra money on the TiN coated version.

    • @GetOffTheCouchDesign
      @GetOffTheCouchDesign  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the tips! I wouldn't have thought to keep it waxed! I have heard similar things about the mobile base. I was lucky I had this one already.

      @revon0521 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting observation. Would love to hear someone who's got some experience with the non TiN version regarding its vulnerability to rust. Though, I suspect that climate control and regional differences may be in play. I plan on buying a Harvey saw and and using it in an unconditioned space.

      @@GetOffTheCouchDesign how is the mobile base with the extension wings. Looks like you don't need to move it often. I will have to in my shop so I am wondering how big of a pain it is the the extension wing. TIA.

    • @jac_builtWoodworks
      @jac_builtWoodworks 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow that’s disappointing, I just got mine last week, I went with the tin top also because I live near a lake, originally I wanted the cast iron one because the gold look didn’t appeal to me but it sort of grew on me and the supplier only had one cast iron one left so I thought I’d pay the extra for the rust prevention feature. I hope mine doesn’t rust, though I do instead to wax it anyways.

    • @dt2419
      @dt2419 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      not sure if you've bought your saw yet but for reference, Laguna, Harvey, Sawstop etc are all of very similar quality, some probably even better than sawstop, the big price difference between them is purely the safety feature which with proper use, probably shouldn't come into play in the first place.

      @dustinlight4716 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I just pulled the trigger on the Alpha 110LC-36P myself. All in, I think I'm saving over $1000 compared to a Sawstop with the same rip capacity dust collection and such. And thats comparing to the contractor version, not the PCS. Evryone I've seen that got a Harvey seems to love it.

      @@dustinlight4716 that is good to see. I am interested in getting their whole setup for sure with the shark dust collection and router table insert.
