Good day! I’m going back to the US this December to file the re entry permit, would it be advisable for relatives to mail the I-131 a month before I get to the country so I’m in the country to take biometrics? Since I can’t stay too long in the US as I need to return back to my country for university.
Also I reside at Virginia Beach, VA. I’d love to hear which office near me would the I-131 be filed at as the relative who’ll file it is on the older side.

Hi Ashoori, great video. I have a question to you.
Will I be able to submit my application in the US> Leave the country > return for the biometrics appointment > Leave the country again > and return once the reentry permit is delivered? I have a foreign passport and a US address. Thanks!

Hi Tsuyo! You must be in the U.S. when the reentry permit application is received and accepted by USCIS. However, in many cases, you may leave the US after the application is accepted and then return to the US for the biometrics appointment. This should only be done in certain cases though. I'd be happy to discuss your particular case with you. Feel free to call me directly at +1.818.741.1117. Or you can schedule a free consultation by clicking this link: www.ashoorilaw.com/schedule/

If you are a green card holder and travel every year but never crossing the 6mths limit will you need a reentry permit.?

Frequent travel can be a reason to consider applying for a reentry permit (even if the travel doesn't exceed six months). I'd be happy to discuss with you over a call. You can schedule a free consultation here: www.ashoorilaw.com/schedule/. Or you can give us a call at +1-818-741-1117.

If I can’t get a passport from my home country, Do I have to specify what country I want to travel to when applying for the reentry permit?

My brother-in-law is a U.S. immigrant, he applied for a re-entry permit last summer 2021 and has been outside the country since. His re-entry permit approval was just received last week (May 2022) here in San Diego, CA. When does he have to return to the U.S.? Two years from May 2022 (return May 2024) or two years from when he left the U.S. summer 2021 (return May 2022)? Thank you sir!

Hey.. did you get any response to this and did your brother kept on traveling to US when permit was still pending to avoid 6 months absence issues?

Hi Ashoori.. great videos. I am a new subscriber.
I have a question. My husband has green card and residing outside the country for the last 3 years. He was not able to come to US. How can he apply for a permit to come now..? Can he apply self or through attorney..?
