    Thank you! May I kindly add, as a chaste, TOB loving, practicing Catholic of fire for the faith and intimacy with Jesus, but also a nurse with experience with the general public, and a Creighton Model NFP practitioner...I am deeply concerned with the fact that many MANY Catholics are completely unaware of their wounds. Yes, childhood wounds matter. Our families are our first teachers and they are our first exposures to what love is, and sadly, many people think love is ....well, abuse. Even spiritual abuse. I believe in authenticity and expect nothing different in another, than what I live myself. It's simply exhausting, when the same men in their 20s who attempted to pursue you but were not ready to give up the porn which is not to use pro life to rationalize their 'other lifestyle.' SO common, and these same men in our 20s, are STILL on the sites, STILL pursuing me, and others, with out any true action, in their 40s. It's really, really hard. People don't know who they are! We're dealing with identity crises because those who want to be holy with out doing the work to be healthy, they would rather just have a rigid sacramental life and abs in the gym, but stay away from things of the mind and spirit, thinking they just rosary pray their issues away. Can't hide! And whenever I'm with a guy who has a pristine Catholic 'resume' and devotional life, they are unable to care, love, sacrifice, go deep, relate, and just be a ...friend! It's really awful. Porn, the internet......and yes, I pray for them. Yes, I fast for them. I'm....exhausted from being vulnerable and not scared.....I've been hurt, I've not been see, not been heard, I'm working on PTSD from family stuff and the plandemic as a frontline nurse and now disabled patient from the lack of care since I refused the vent (which is why I'm alive to tell)...so we have to balance and have awareness of our mind. Not just our spirit.

      You refused the vent? As in ventilator.

    Women said they want men to be vulnerable. But most times, when men show weakness, women react with disgust and contempt.

      I think you've been dating the wrong women. Also though it depends on the timing. If you are becoming vulnerable too soon or too late in the relationship it may become a turn off. Get to know your woman a little but don't wait 6 months or so to dump some huge bombshell about your past you know. Also there are many things better left unsaid in a relationship. Especially when they're things about your past. If your past still relates to your present you may bring it up, the right woman will accept you.

      I might just add that vulnerability is not weakness. It takes great strength and courage and faith to be vulnerable with another human being.

    Why is a man like a cave and a woman like the ocean? Is there more to the analogy?

    • @cristobalgomezgutierrez8546
      @cristobalgomezgutierrez8546 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Women tend to be parallel, deep and wide seeing (e.g. in a given situation at the office, may be considering at the same time something technical with the computer and the feelings of the person working with it); while men tend to be serial, sharp and focused (e.g. in the same given situation, consider to solve the technical issue first, then if needed consider the feelings of the person). A classical discussion is when a man "forgets" or doesn't "see" things that the woman has present or is seeing. This happens because the man is not considering all things at the same time and moment or with the same attention. One point of view or proceeding is not better than the other.
      I think cave with spaces and ocean with wide surround of waters are a brilliant allegory.

    Catholic Relationship Advice:
    Don’t date unless you are open to marriage. Ready for it even. Also maybe don’t get on a dating site once in a relationship for a year (people are so disappointing).

      It's easier to date catholic men. I wouldn't say it's totally necessary but it's very very helpful. I would definitely prefer a catholic man. If he's not a catholic you'll have a lot less in common.

      It may be worth considering to see if he would be open to the faith. We know some great Catholic couples where one converted.
