Hi Dr. Susan! Thanks so much for having me on the call. You more than answered my question :) I love being armed with this info when talking with my health providers. Self-education is so important. Just FYI when I was 34 I was diagnosed with Colon cancer after a 13 yr history of ulcerative colitis. I had radiation therapy which radiated my ovaries and that is why they removed them but left the uterus. Didn't think we needed to get into all that on the call :) Thank you again.
Thank you for validating what I've been told for many years about bioidenticals. I have been on bioidentical HRT since I entered menopause at 47 and am now 61. I started on them when I lived in San Diego and since moving to Nashville TN, I've found primary care docs have cautioned against them. Fortunately I see an excellent nurse practitioner who trained under the Joel Hargrove at Vanderbilt who was instrumental in researching bioidenticals. She learned from the best!
I was taking bio identical estrogen and progesterone ( in cream form )for over 20 years. 3 years ago I had a total hysterectomy due to uterine cancer, stage 1, because of the prolong use of estrogen. After the surgery the doctor advised me not to take any more hormones. I did not listen to him, because I have many hot flashes. I still take bio identical estrogen and progesterone, but in very low doses. My question is, should I continue taking bio identical hormones, because I am worrying now not to get breast cancer?
Thanks I needed to hear this I've been on Estradial one mg for 11 years after my Hysterectomy .. my Dr. wants to take me off because I'm 65 , but now that I'm hearing this great news & information I will consider. The Patch with the estrogen and the testosterone.
You mentioned current science supports taking hormones until the end of life. Are there any research articles that state this conclusion? I would like to have this information to provide to my doctor.
I recently got on estradiol and progesterone, my doctor did not even mention that I should be on testosterone. I’m 67 years old. Should I talk to him about getting on testosterone?
Hi Dr. Susan! I am 61 years old and I was taking the Combipatch (lowest dose) for five years and I stopped taking it 8 months ago as my Dr said I could only be on it for 5 years due to my mother having breast cancer while taking Estrogen. My hot flashes and night sweats are still bad and I am now not sleeping. I do take Providalize now but even that is not helping. I guess my question is can I still continue with HRT treatment or is it best not to try it again at this point in my life? I am so confused on if in the long run it will bad for me to take HRT or just try to live with it.
Hi Dr. Susan! I have learned so much since watching your videos. Thank you 🙏🏻 I currently live in Sweden 🇸🇪 I’m 51 It’s been 6 month now that I feel hot flushes and waiking up at night. I went to my Gyno yesterday ( not sure that he liked that I knew so much about this topic all thanks to you😊)I now have an IUS (progesterone non bio identical I think) since 7 years ago because I hade heavy bleedings. My Dr suggested to replace that and prescribed estradiol patches. What is you opinion about having IUS? 🤗🤗 Caroline 🇸🇪🇸🇪
Such good information Dr. Susan and explained so eloquently! I’m currently on the vivelle dot (.075) and 100 mg progesterone pill. I had a double mastectomy due to LCIS stage 0 several years ago. My question is what is the difference between the patch and pellets and benefits of the pellets in comparison to the patch. also would you recommend adding in testosterone? Thanks so much you are an incredibly valuable resource!
That is a GREAT question!! Please submit it to www.drsusan.com/ask and I'd love to potentially discuss it in my next TH-cam video. Thanks for watching!
Thank you. I am currently taking compounded HRT but I read that is not as reliable to combat the three major diseases versus pharmaceutical bio identical HRT?
I am on Bi-est cream vaginally yet, I find that if I use it daily I eventually start spotting. Yet, I’m having vaginal dryness and discomfort with intercourse. I am also on 200 mg Progesterone orally. Here in Portugal doctors don’t want to prescribe testosterone for women. I do use a Vit E capsule vaginally every other day - trying to help with the symptoms.
I've been taking bio-identical estradiol gel and 100ml progesterone since 57- I'm 70 and continue to have regular tests, and no intention of stopping it. The evidence today after all these years supports continuing. Women, what are you missing? I have so few friends doing this.

Yes, met too - what studies support this?

What's the optimal dose of each hormone to prevent the 4 diseases?
Estradiol patch caused me uterine problems

She discussed ur questions in her previous video 📹

May I please ask if you take both daily?
@@kabsatdajajyes, but lately I'm reducing the estradiol gel to every other day, or even every three days. But have been taking daily for 13+ years
I can't afford the pellets. What other form of estrogen would you recommend?
Hi Jackie! I would recommend anything that's not oral, patch or cream for example.
@@drsusan thank you!
Can you just take testosterone shot injections twice a week ? Would that be enough for hormone replacement therapy 🤔
Is there a testosterone available OTC or through diet
