    I've heard you use the word Pulsar several times in this video and I'm thinking that you're confusing the fuel cut off relay with this. There's a small rectangular box that has three wires , a black, a black/blue and a blue/yellow , this feeds the fuel pump. If this is what you're referring to as a pulsar then that would actually be the fuel cut off incase you laid the bike over. This is very important component incase you happen to be involved in a crash to make sure that the fuel pump shuts down .

      It's a long story but it all played out in the end. long story short original fuel pump went out around the same time the stator and voltage regulator started failing so I was getting mixed results as you could imagine. The fuel pump worked fine thats all i can say.

    Hello, I've bought what they call a "shit bay pump" excuses my french. Hopefully it holds up, but looks like I might switch to this pump, my only question is, the guage of wire on the mr gasket seem thicker then the wires it would be connected to, was this the same for you? If not is it safe to connect the mr gasket wires to a smaller guage wire that's on the bike. I have a 94 honda shadow. Thanks , first time bike owner 🤙🏾

      Don't go with the eBay shit pump. Just wire it up the Mr Gasket pump thickness of wire wont matter. It works like a champ. Cheers!

    Can you just use the two wires that went to the old pump on the mr. Gasket pump?

    Do you know the size of the fitting that comes in the pump opposite from the filter side? Mines came out doing some maintenance and I can’t find it.

    Hey me again. So I put on a Mr gasket pump, let me tell you. This thing kicks on right away. But my issue is, I believe the carbs are getting too much fuel. When the bike on, and I go to try and ride out of 1st gear it shuts off. And the pump doesn't shut off unless I turn the key off. Any suggestions on how to get this thing out on the road? It sounds better then before during idle, I used to have an afterfire, but don't seem to hear it now.

    • @Bricklinsv1970
      @Bricklinsv1970  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you get the Mr Gasket 42s? Its the 3 psi one. I didn't have any issues with flooding the carbs. When I finish riding i immediately turn the key off to shut the pump off.

    • @TheDave4584
      @TheDave4584 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it’s forcing fuel through the carbs too quickly you may have a float seat issue or you may need to tune the carbs a little leaner.

      I've low pressure ones, like 1 or 2 psi ones with a flow system that stops sending fuel into carburator as soon as it gets filled up . it might help

    Just wondering what kind of fuel mileage you get with that setup. I put the mr gasket on my 93 shadow 1100 and It seems to only be getting around 20 miles to the gallon.

      @GoodOleBoy i have a 94 Shadow
      Vt1100c I’m about to try this tomorrow I’m not really sure how this setup works. So i take the in hose and hook it up to the electric pump fuel filter side that’s about all i know. My stuff is on the left side. If you have a 93 and mine is a 94 it should be the same. Can you give me any help?? I the in hose goes to the fuel filter side of the electric pump what happens with the other hose that went into the old pump. That’s where I’m confused. I’m a mechanic of cars i never worked on a motorcycle. Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered.

    Very cool - I used to own a Honda Shadow 100 Classic back in the 90's. I miss riding. I always wanted to put a back support on the seat as your back would get tired on long hauls. Cheers, Beer Hound!

    Hey man this pump has been killing my batteries. It's off the pulsar and no head lamp bulb. What kind of battery do you run. I get about 6 starts out of a full charge battery and then it just crashed out and won't turn over at all.

    • @Bricklinsv1970
      @Bricklinsv1970  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      get a multi meter and hook it to the battery while its running and see what its putting out before you buy a new battery.

      @@Bricklinsv1970 yes I've done that and it's charging at 13.5 volts while running. I wasn't having having any charging issues before I installed this pump. I've ordered the stock battery already and it's on its way. I've been using a gel cell battery and I'm going back to the T shaped lead acid battery. Hope this fixes the problem. Thanks for the reply any suggestions are welcome beer man!

    What exactly is a pulsar?

    • @Bricklinsv1970
      @Bricklinsv1970  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      From what I gather it shuts the fuel pump off when it reaches the required fuel pressure then comes back on when needed like its pulsing. I believe it conserves electricity used.

    • @kvngxflow414
      @kvngxflow414 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So how do you disable the pulsar?

    • @Bricklinsv1970
      @Bricklinsv1970  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just bypass it I believe its the third wire. I believe it pulses to save on electrical drawl.
