Watching this proves that victory is a sparkle in time and yet so precious. Lee definitely played better than Lin at it, but both were excellent. We miss them very much. Nothing is permanent. Those were the days!

I absolutely agree with you that. The two are both great players. I myself lean towards LCW's playing style than LD even if LD is the one who won all the big tittles over LCW. I think LCW's movements are more "flexible" than LD.
I hope that Lee Chong Wei will win the 2014 World Championship. He is such talented and work so hard. According to me, he is the best player never to be crowned world champion. He deserved to win at least one world championship on his career.

I am not an experienced Badminton fan so excuse my ignorance on this one. Does LCW choke against LD normally or is it something in the matchup that goes against him? Lin seems more talented but loses concentration or gets bored against lesser players hence not being number 1. I think the 2012 Olympics really showed LCW getting nervous in the 3rd set when leading.
LD have different playing style when he meet LCW in the final of World Championships (which was held in the same year as this match)...

@ClydeMcbride I'd say 2011 was the year he played his best badminton from what we as spectators can see anyway. Speed, power, grace in movement. Only his nerves at the end and a bit of luck that eluded him from the world champs that year. After that esp 2013 and also in Rio 2016 he approached the big finals with so much stress and pressure that I don't think he was in as natural a flow as he was in 2011.
@@aimanteamhm4398 nah far from it I think. He improved a lot from 08-11 and from 2011 on his movement around the court and his power stabilized.

Lin Dan looked quite embarrassed. To be honest, runner-up is a MASSIVE privilege already. Many people can't make it that far. Respect for both, even though I'm a Lee Chong Wei fan.
I think one of his easiest match was Thomas Cup 2008 which Lee Chong Wei won in 2 easy straight sets if I remember correctly :]

such a shame that LCW has got a new coach, as much as I believe the old one that has conflict with the Malaysia badminton association has the brain. There was one match that I've watched LCW vs Taufik in the old scoring system, Taufik was dominating the first game but during the mid game interval LCW's coach stepped in and talked into his head. Then I saw something amazing that really happened. Sadly the coach got forced away and now LCW has to fight on his own.
+Andrew Lin When Misbun Sidek was his coach, that was his prime time, he needs Misbun.

Lin Dan's performance in this match was really weird. IMO, this was probably the easiest match LCW ever had against LD. Watch any other match with this time frame and you will see what happens. For example, 2010 Thomas Cup SF where LD totally dominated despite LCW having home advantage. LD does always seem a bit more passive playing in Europe though.

I Can't Say That Lee Chong Wei Was Performing Well. He Was Playing His Usual Style. But Lin Dan On The Other Hand, Looked Tired. He Passed Up A Lot Of A Balls By Dropping Instead Of His Usual Self-Smashing. Maybe He Felt Sorry Of Lee Chong Wei And Wanted To Let Him Get The All England Champion For The Second Time? But I Can Assure You That Lin Dan Was Not In Tip-Top Form That Day.
